I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Going in for reduced movements again. Only have to go to the main hospital rather than the birth centre this time.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 16:45

Oh wow, 23 Shock

door hope all ok.

LucindaE · 22/11/2017 17:07

justtheone Grin Thank you! In those days, the dismissiveness wasn't easy to forget! It was even worse than today, with psychologizing thrown in. Mother Hen is quite ancient. How are you today?

DeadDoorPost Good luck with reduced movements but I am sure it is fine. Probably not much room in there by now. Eight kids? My goodness. You must have lived in a substantial house.
Waves to Mustang and everyone.

Lucinda yes I can only be thankful that I am taken seriously by doctors and treated appropriately rather than the horror stories I've heard about attitudes even just a few years back. Horrendous.
I'm having a REALLY good day, thanks for asking. I have been to the midwife, tidied the house a bit and made soup! Considering I haven't cooked a thing/managed to do anything round the house since 6weeks pregnant I'm feeling like superwoman today Smile. I'm knackered now but thrilled.

Natsku · 22/11/2017 17:12

Hope all is ok Dead

Bought some maternity clothes on the Finnish version of ebay today - jeans and three tops for 6 euros!

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 17:12

I bought some eBay mat clothes too today natsku Smile

Natsku · 22/11/2017 17:15

I'm tempted to buy so many things! Still need to figure out what carrier to get - I'm tempted by the Caboo, anyone have any experience of it? It looks so snug and cosy for a tiny baby and then I could then go for the more structured carrier when baby is a bit bigger and I've had a chance to try out different ones.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 17:22

I bought a Caboo on ebay for £30. It's the organic cotton one and I figure if I don't like it I'll sell it on and won't have lost anything. It does look so snuggly!

winkywinkybumbum · 22/11/2017 17:26

Awww beautiful picture!

I took my meds and can tell that I need to keep them topped up as I feel crap again. Need to get into the habit so I don't miss that window.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 17:27

Set an alarm on your phone winky?

Mustang27 · 22/11/2017 18:08

Got some ranatidine ladies!! It’s 300mg tablets it says take one or two daily is 600mg too high? I thought the tabs were 150mg?

Sorry will catch up with thread have hungry toddler to feed.

Mustang27 · 22/11/2017 18:18

I used the caboo for first 3 months and up to 6 months if I was baby wearing to garden or do dishes. I loved it I’m so close to buying it again tbh as I gave mine away to a charity collecting for Syrian refugee crisis back last year. It dies hold is value and so easy to wash and dry. It’s like throwing on a tshirt so easy.

Mustang27 · 22/11/2017 18:19

Yep alarms Winky.

@DeadDoorpost hope you are ok please keep us posted massive hugs. It’s so hard so close to the end when it’s stressy and you just want baby there.

Natsku · 22/11/2017 18:51

I thought the max dosage was 300mg mustang I looked in the pharmacy and there were two boxes, one that was 150mg and it said one or two daily, and the other that was 300mg and it said one a day before bed (sometimes I break it in half though and take one half earlier in the day and the other half before bed).
Ooo that does sound promising about the Caboo, it's not pricey either so I think I might opt for it for the first months and then figure out one that will last well into the toddler years.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 18:54

I thought daily dose was 300mg too. I think it would be better to take it twice a day so it lasts?

winkywinkybumbum · 22/11/2017 18:59

Definitely going to set alarms. I am hoping I have caught it all early enough.

I'm currently researching how to switch off sense of smell. Hmm It's one of the worst triggers for me. I was on the bus earlier and I could smell dirty hair. It was so overpowering.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 19:41

If you find out winky then do share. It's the bane of my life that I can smell fucking everything Envy

imreallyaunicorn · 22/11/2017 19:44

5th pregnancy, suffer d every time, 6weeks+2days and I can fe l it brewing!

DeadDoorpost · 22/11/2017 19:47

Thanks ladies. Requirements have been met but still waiting for the Dr to come and talk to me about a possible induction if he feels it's worth it.

It's really frustrating because 5heres one woman here who's 37 weeks and habing contractions and 1 cm dilated, and another woman who's being induced tonight. Sigh.
Lucinda depends what you think of as substantial. One house we had was 6 bedrooms, another was 5 but there was a big size difference and the 6 bedroom was horribly damp and falling apart. Landlord was nasty too. When there were just 6 kids we lived in a 3 bed house. But I've moved a lot so I don't really get attached to houses and certainly don't ever complain about how big a house is. I don't see the point

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 19:48

Get meds straight away unicorn, good evidence for cyclizine three times a day and vit b6 (10mg four times a day) taken together.

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 19:50

Glad all ok door and hope you get induced!

Shehz21 · 22/11/2017 20:56

Blue Such a beautiful boy! Even Dh is gushing praise over that picture!
So sorry about the stubborn nausea though. Hope it goes soon and you get your normal appetite back!
Not only are you welcome on the thread but very much wanted and missed!

Door Hope you get that much awaited induction. It must be very frustrating at this point understandably. Keep us updated!

justtheonethen So glad to read you are finally out of the "relapse" zone! Hope it goes on for us until we hit the next dreaded 30 week one Shock
Hehe enjoying the bargain shopping are we? ;)
Trying to find some worthy ones here as well! I guess I'll go with the caboo too since so many of you seem to be enjoying it! Will get an Ergo when baby gets bigger.

Emu31 Ouhh third trimester! I can only dream of it as of now (only 23 weeks Sad )
Soon you will be nesting and re-organizing all baby stuff several times. I am sure along with the anxiety, the growing excitement will surely make you look forward to meeting baby Emu!
I am really unprepared too, especially mentally, but can't wait to waddle to the Pink Castle and hold dear baby Shez in my arms.
Your due date is a day after my birthday!I assure you February babies are awesome Grin

unicorn Get to the GP and preemptive measures in the forms of medecines (long list to choose from the PSS website)
Do try and ask for cyclizine and/or ondansetron though, they seem to be working the most with the majority of hg sufferors though I found Avomine/Phenergan worked a great deal in my case alongside metoclopromide.

Disco Hope baby Disco gets here soon. You must be pretty fed up as well!

Mustang Yay on the Ranitidine. I was told to take 2x 150mg of it per day alongside disgusting Gaviscon.

DeadDoorpost · 22/11/2017 21:03

Ok So im not having an induction becauee i really cba to be in overnight in the hospital where i didnt want to be. Have had an S&S though so we shall see what happens! Cervix wasnt even open though 😂😂 my body certainly doesnt seem to want to give birth.

Shehz21 · 22/11/2017 21:08

Oh Door Why do I have a feeling I will end up like you Sad
Are you able to cheer yourself up with some bargains for Black Friday sale for baby/yourself/famo?
I am sure the relentless calls must be annoying though.
Maybe Baby Door just wants to make a very special appearance when you least expect it?! wishful thinking at its best lol

justtheonethen · 22/11/2017 21:09

Fingers crossed it does something door. Have the sick bag bunting ready to hang out for you Grin

Shehz are you feeling better too? I hope we stay relatively sick free for a bit too. Fingers crossed! Even my ever present nausea feels more like a background hum today.
I'm loving the bargain hunting Grin
