I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

blondes she's so gorgeous!

elephant I love gap over bump jeans and have been wearing with long sleeved stretch t shirts from primark in a couple of sizes larger. They are long enough for bump......so far! Also like mustang George leggings are great.

Hope you're ok now shehz Flowers

www no experience with private but I think if you found somewhere that did at home IV fluids/meds that would make a huge difference! I would love that. Also read up on preemptive meds which can massively reduce later symptoms.
There is some good guidance on second HG pregnancy here-

spearo21 · 21/11/2017 11:35

Mustang I have a fitbit and like you my resting heart rate has risen! It's sitting around the 70's at the moment and has been for quite some time but I was down to about 50 odd before I was pregnant. I feel so unfit too, I can barely do anything without getting out of breath lol!

Well I must not jinx it but I have had a good week!! What are the chances. I was only sick once last week and apart from a few funny turns, I've not had much nausea. What has happened and pleaseeeeee let it continue!!! That's me now 31 weeks and clinging on . Can't believe I am nearly at the end of my pregnancy now. I had mentioned before I was diagnosed with Obstetric Choloestasis, well that is getting worse by the day and I'm now up at the hospital being monitored twice a week. When I have been on the CTG machine too it is saying that I am having regular contractions!!! They have put it down to an irritable uterus? Has anyone else had this? Freaking out now that baby will be here way before he is supposed to! I just don't do pregnancy very well lol Please stay in Baby Pearo!!

Congratulations also to you Oklahoma you can enjoy life again without HG! Wooooo!

LucindaE · 21/11/2017 11:52

Thank youm Emu Elephantgrey and everyone! Nice to be welcomed back. In turn, I will be welcoming all of you to the legendary Pink Castle at the end of the Hyperemesis Horror Experience.
Blondes Ah, so sweet! You make me jealous, but I wouldn't have the energy to look after a baby or a toddler full time these days, my goodness. You were brilliant and I always love hearing from you.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Welcome. I hope that is the approximate numbers of w's! I wish I could help. I had to have Acupunture privately, as it wasn't offered on the NHS, and my GP had refused all meds and I was in a state. It did help me a great deal, but I was very lucky. I gather from here that most people are helped by it less, though it does help almost everyone a bit. I think he must have been particularly skilled. As for other treatments available privately, I honestly don't know. If the former Kate Middleton is an example, then they would seem to help a lot!
BATMAN It is true, it hasn't been used for that long, but there are large studies quoted on the websites such as Pregnancy Sickness Support, which I hope reassure people. I can see why medics fall over themselves to be careful, of course.
Shez21 I hope you got reassurance?
I hope everyone is coping today.
I will now try and find the due dates list to update it.

wwww fair enough, and no midwives know about it but because of the Dr they can't really do anything not that it makes much of a difference as I'm overdue now.

elephant Yeah, it's a lot of weight lost.

Natsku I got my maternity clothes off EBay. Some second hand, some brand new. All really cheap and I got well known brands (JoJo Maman, Isabella Oliver etc ) so hopefully I can sell them on when I’m done and get my money back Wink
I’d definitely recommend it, if you’re ok with second hand stuff.

Natsku · 21/11/2017 12:36

I love second hand stuff Bunny! most of my clothes are from charity shops and flea markets! I shall have a looksee.

Aww she's lovely Blondes

BunnyFluffy · 21/11/2017 12:36

On the sickness front, I had been feeling a bit better over the last week. I went to work yesterday!! But today I’m feeling terrible, think I’m getting a cold Sad

NonStopDisco · 21/11/2017 12:45

Lucinda I was very confident I had, but everything stopped by yesterday lunchtime!

Shehz21 · 21/11/2017 15:08

Lucinda MW sounded counfident that all should be okay as no pain or bleeding and baby Shez is kicking so all good!

justtheonethen I am good thanks love. How are you doing on the sickness front? Is it getting any better with the random vom bouts? You must be 24 weeks already by now?!

I am another one who is not willing to spend unreasonable amounts of money on maternity wear. Maybe just a couple of good pair of comfy leggings and a dress for my baby shower in Dec but otherwise second hand or primark is my go to destination once I grow out of my regular tops.
Been checking the Black Friday sales. Not impressed Hmm

Shehz21 · 21/11/2017 15:08

Blondes your LO is so adorable! Gorgeous girl ♡

justtheonethen · 21/11/2017 15:27

Same shehz, not impressed with the sales! Definitely feeling better the last couple of days thanks. Less evening vomming! How is yours? I'm still really dizzy and nauseous but think that's here to stay for a bit.

justtheonethen · 21/11/2017 15:28

And yes, 24+4 Shock

Mustang27 · 21/11/2017 17:02

I have to chime in in and say she is a cutie Blondes and I live the wee card she is holding 😍.

Just back from midwife baby is supposedly huge and fully engaged and back to bump. Maybe I will go early this time. She also did my weight I could have died.......I’m a heifer SadSad.

I hope Pippa, Disco and Dead go soon. That just leaves Satsooma who hasn’t been on in ages i think I’m hoping it’s just because she is feeling wonderful. Then it’s my turn.

NonStopDisco · 21/11/2017 17:22

I threw up plain water! Wtf, I thought I’d definitely got past that!

winkywinkybumbum · 21/11/2017 20:34

Sorry to dip in and out of thread without offering support but I need to be needy.

How do you know when it's the start of hypermesis? The nausea has started and is kind of controllable by keeping eating. I just don't know what's normal with morning sickness and I have a massive fear of history repeating itself. Right now, I have that back of the throat feeling and there's no way I can stomach eating something else. I don't know if I should go to docs and get meds or if this is normal.

I'm so scared.

winkywinkybumbum · 21/11/2017 20:54

Oh gosh the massively increased sensitive to smells is here. That sends me over the edge. I think I've answered my own question. My mouth is now constantly watering since smelling something just now.

DeadDoorpost · 21/11/2017 21:05

Go and get meds winky! Even if its just nausea it can be absolutely horrible!

So BabyDoor still doesn't seem to be making an appearance buy he's at least done a 180 and now back where he should be. Also had some more period pains but nothing much, and been incredibly tired today, felt slightly sick which is expected seeing as I've not got any more tablets so coping without them.
And my nan phoned for the 3rd time in 5 days today. I am going insane. DH has told me to ignore phonecalls from now on unless I know they're urgent. I just can't be dealing with all the questions and check-ins.

winkywinkybumbum · 21/11/2017 21:09

It was just the relentless nausea I had last time so I know what you mean.

I'm sorry you're being bombarded at the moment Flowers

LucindaE · 21/11/2017 21:11

winkywinkybumbum Sorry to hear that; I think you should go for meds asap as I have heard their is some evidence that you can make it less severe by getting treatment before the brain gets into the neurological response. What did they give you last time?
NonStopDisco That is a disappointment, and bringing up water too! I hope the latter is a sign it will start soon.
Shehz21 Babies are well cushioned by the fluid. You have to hurt yourself very badly for them to be hurt.
Mustang I so hope you are soon waddling up the drawbridge to the Pink Castle, along with Pippa and DeadDoorPost.
Natsku, Bunnyfluffy and others - I so agree about clothes. Recycling is good besides!
Waves to justtheone and everyone. Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.

NonStopDisco · 21/11/2017 21:33

Dead my PIL are thinking it’s desperately important that they get us the correct Christmas present, and have to ring us to make sure it’s perfect- every other day so far. With a “and err... is Disco getting on ok?” Tacked on to the end. I’ve told DH he’s to tell them I had the baby a week ago and we forgot to tell them!

NonStopDisco · 21/11/2017 21:35

winky get meds! Better sooner rather than later, especially if you’re showing all the signs of it starting.

justtheonethen · 21/11/2017 21:42

Go get meds winky!

door and disco bet that's so annoying. Love the idea of "oh we forgot to tell you" Grin

Waves to Lucinda, welcome back mother hen Smile

DeadDoorpost · 21/11/2017 21:46

Our parents would flip if we didn't tell them 😂 my DM just phoned but I've not spoken to her for like 5 days so that's not too bad.
Aha my parents can't even pretend to phone on the basis of getting the perfect Christmas present because they already know what it would be... books. So doesn't really work for them.
I have a feeling I'm going to end up having a December baby. Which is watch really didn't want. Ugh.
