I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

justtheonethen · 19/11/2017 16:30

mustang you can buy ranitidine from the supermarket. You can take 150mg, which is two of those, twice a day. Acid is the worst!

Cheering all you November due dates along. Hope you're all happily ensconced in the pink castle soon!

LucindaE · 19/11/2017 21:18

Back from High Wcyombe. I see lovely Blondeshavemorefun (well, she does anyway as she has a great sense of humour) has been looking after you brilliantly. Flowers. Skim read and saw that BlueButTrue has had her baby and put up a lovely picture - so sweet. Star Flowers. Well done, BlueButTrue, so happy for you. Did baby come before his due date, because of luck brought by your OH sitting next to that man at work? Grin
Welcome to BergamotMouse. Does the 'bergamot' bit mean that you drink Earl Grey tea (at least, when not suffering?) You have had great advice already, especially about pre-emptive meds in particular.
Daffodil Lovey to hear from you. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you go for it again.

I hope everyone is coping. Thanks again to Blondeshavemorefun for her invaluable help.

well, BabyDoor still hasn't arrived. ondansetron tablets have run out again and although I've not felt too bad today I'm now feeling slightly queasy with heartburn.

And the most annoying thing is that he's shifted position again. as in, he's in my other hip now so he's done a 180 turn. not breach though thankfully. but I'm sure as hell looking forward to having him evicted.

NonStopDisco · 20/11/2017 00:51

I think I might be in the earliest of early labour- having back to front contractions nearly every 10 minutes, walked around and still had them, and feel like they’re getting longer? Also craving washing powder and feeling quite nauseous.

Oklahoma · 20/11/2017 05:01

Oklar put in appearance yesterday so I am no longer pregnant!!

Will read and reply more later.

It does and will end ladies.

Oh and one to the add to the “good god no” list for second time around is raw carrot. Iv had a kind of craving for raw veg recently and iv had two run ins with it last two days it is like hard rice coming up bloody awful SadSadSad

Non stop I hope you are in labour too.

Hope you go today too Pippa.

How are you feeling Dead? Yeah once they get big their movement becomes unbearable sometimes iv been rudely awoken last couple of nights getting quite painful bh and bump trying to claw their way out I think Confused

Shehz21 · 20/11/2017 10:50

Shehz21 · 20/11/2017 10:53

Mustang lol at Mini mustang 2 trying to 'claw' his way out!Grin
Sorry though it must have been quite uncomfortable and contributed to lack of sleep :/

TwoDrifters · 20/11/2017 11:33

Oh how lovely! Congratulations Oklahoma Flowers

NonStopDisco · 20/11/2017 12:07

I may have been jumping the gun! Was having contractions 10mins apart for a few hours, then 7 mins apart, and now... nothing! (Apart from a weird desire to eat washing powder...)

Mustang one of the things that made me realise that something wasn’t right in the early days was when I’d chopped some carrots and took a piece for myself as a chef’s perk. Immediately threw it up and it was hard and lumpy as all get out! My MIL doesn’t like it after pregnancy, and she boils 7 shades of crap out of it when she cooks it for anyone else, now I’m kind of wondering if she’s experienced the same thing!

DeadDoorpost · 20/11/2017 12:10

Disco and mustang I had the same with raw carrot. Still can't eat it but can have cooked carrot.

Oklahoma congratulations! Slightly jealous you've now had your baby but so so glad for you that this hell is now over for you!!

DeadDoorpost · 20/11/2017 12:14

Oh, and I've woken to the news that Charles Manson has died. Found out because that's the other murderer my dad has met besides Myra Hindley. His fb status about it talked about how you could feel the evil coming off of him. One of the few times he's ever truly felt scared.

pippanippa · 20/11/2017 12:17

Oklahoma congratulations! I hope everything went well and you and baby are recovering and you're now feeling better!

Welcome back Lucinda!

Nonstop how frustrating, that sounds like what happened to me on Friday. Still waiting here... nothing apart from the odd twinge, but feeling a bit better nausea wise today at least which is nice. Hope everyone else is doing well, particularly those of you in the early days, I appreciate it must be difficult reading lots of birth talk when HG makes it feel like a million miles away - the time will pass I promise!

Shehz21 · 20/11/2017 13:02

Is there anyone here who fell on their bump while pregnant? I tripped on the last couple of steps of the stairs a few minutes back and fell on my bump. I know the baby is well cushionrd in there with the amniotic fluid but I am still a bit worried.
Is it necessary to get seen by my midwife or will I be okay??

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 20/11/2017 13:26

Congratulations Oklahoma!!

I need some help with my medication regimen. I'm trying to wean off ondansetron at doctors request. I've cut down from 3 per day, to 2, then 1 over the course of a week. Today is the first day with none, but I'm feeling it.

I'd like to take one but have taken 2x metoclopramide already. Does anyone take this alongside ondansetron? I think I remember the GP saying that they have a similar mechanism of action so may not be able to take together.

Any advice gratefully received!
