I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Whenever I go to the hospital nowadays I pack plenty of supplies even if I'm expecting to just be there a couple of hours - better safe than sorry!
The weak tired feeling could certainly do one now! I'm trying to avoid naps as if I nap then its much harder to sleep at night now.

LucindaE · 29/08/2017 22:08

Natsku I am glad it is only two days. Even that is a lot when debilitated by Hyperemesis.
Ameliablue I am glad that things are a bit better. I've put you on the list.
Mustang That is interesting.
Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.

I have to go to court tomorrow, was going to take the train which wouldn't be so bad but my lawyer offered me a lift (against the rules!) so I'm going by car instead, two and half hour journey - shall go prepared with lots of sick bags!

Oklahoma · 30/08/2017 10:56

Natsku that doesn't sound fun. I'm terrible in the car with HG. And sympathy for middle of the night acid voms. I always find the worst bit is lying there before hand knowing if you move you'll vom (and I always end up weeing at the same time) but if you don't move you'll never get back to sleep.

Go Magnum go

LucindaE · 30/08/2017 11:00

Natsku Oh no, poor you. I am sure they could give you something more for the acidity - MotherofPearl and others who have been on here have found that often made a huge difference to the level of sickness. I had gaviscon, but found it ineffectual.
Oklahoma Puking sessions in the dead of the night are awful.

Natsku · 30/08/2017 12:24

I stupidly forgot to ask the doctor about something for the avid and the pharmacy won't sell me anything except Rennies and Gaviscon without a prescription because they know I'm pregnant. Might send OH or visit a pharmacy in the city to get ranitidine or omeprazole. I have pantoprazole here which I was prescribed when pregnant with DD but it doesn't seem to be on the safe list for pregnancy.

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 14:32

Lucinda can I be really cheeky and ask you to change how you've written my username on the due dates list? Blush

I get confused every time I see it GrinI am a plonker

LucindaE · 30/08/2017 15:11

BluesYou I should have got it right; no problem.
Natsku It would be a good idea to send OH.

All fine at 12 week scan. Very wriggly baby and low risk for everything. Phew!

Lemondrop99 · 30/08/2017 15:58

Mother Hen, its BlueIsYou (not BluesYou) Wink

Natsku, you can definitely get Omaprazole over the counter. If you think you'll be fine to take it, I'd prob send DH to get some.

Lovely news Just! Glad your scan went well Smile

Waiting impatiently for news from Magnum......!

Natsku · 30/08/2017 16:45

Great news Just!

At the train station and really want to tell off some naughty teenagers who are kicking around the gravel bin!

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 17:41

Lucinda I think you've got it wrong again? Perhaps it's just a typo

It's BlueIsYou, not BluesYou Grin

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 17:43

justtheonethen Congratulations Flowers What are you thinking, boy or girl?

I wanted a girl but have been struck with a tediously tiring baby boy, of whom doesn't like my usual favourite foods, so it seems - and makes me vomit for England Envy

He'll be worth it, of course Grin

justtheonethen · 30/08/2017 18:03

The sonographer thinks girl based on the nub which would be lovely, although was a bit hoping for a boy. I think only because there are no girls in DH family so I had only prepared mentally for a boy!

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 18:08

justtheonethen You lucky thing! I would love a girl but this will be my first and final baby Grin

No more!

The sickness is too much and general feeling shite and rubbish

LucindaE · 30/08/2017 19:29

BluelsYou and Lemondrop My goodness, I had been reading that as 'BluesYou' since you joined! You can tell I am dyslexic. I sometimes miss letters until it's pointed out; it's really weird.

justtheone That is happy news.

Lemon you're getting so close to the top of the list!!

Just yay for happy scan today. Big sigh relief and another milestone ticked off.

I'm having one of those how-on-earth-am-I-going-to-get-through-the-next-hour days. Tomorrow is another day!!

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 22:03

Lucinda Bless you Flowers

Although I may be putting in for a different date soon if this low lying placenta doesn't move Envy they'll want him out at 37 weeks apparently, giving me a 'due date' of sorts in October

The joys of pregnancy HG and complications on top.

Hope everyone is well x

BlueIsYou · 30/08/2017 22:05

Lucinda Just read the part where you said you're dyslexic Blush I'm so sorry and hope I haven't caused offence!

Does anyone here get really bad heartburn that makes them gag? I don't know why but for some reason, at night, my heartburn has me running for the loo to be sick. I'm not too sure why

Lemondrop99 · 30/08/2017 23:19

I know, Oklahoma! Grin Slowly creeping up! I remember being at the bottom of the list and feeling like I'd never get to the top!

Blue, heartburn/reflux definitely contrbuted to my nausea and vomiting. I just wish I'd identified that earlier. As I mention to Natsku, I found Omaprazole to be a life saver! Talk to your GP about it, I'm sure it'll help.

Ergh, so uncomfortable at night down. I've just ordered a pregnancy pillow. I was trying to get by without it but caved in, wish I'd ordered it earlier to justify the cost but hoping to get some post labour use out of it too. Lots of nausea waves here, but haven't vomited since Saturday so that's good.

How's everyone doing? Thread seems a bit quiet lately. I'm hoping that's a good thing and people are feeling better, rather than feeling too rubbish to read/type.

Lemondrop99 · 30/08/2017 23:20

Why is today so bad Oklahoma? Is it a bad HG day? Or just general pregnancy crispness?

Lemondrop99 · 30/08/2017 23:20

*crapness not crispness! Thank you autocorrect

justtheonethen · 31/08/2017 06:30

I have a bad back and so have already bought a pregnancy pillow, pure heaven!

Heartburn, awful! I think this is my main cause of nausea.

blue I also have a low lying placenta but they said it could move? Fingers crossed yours does too.

justtheonethen · 31/08/2017 06:32

Hope magnum is enjoying snuggles with her mini magnum Smile
