I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Goodness, what is going on with this thread today?! It's baby central!!

Congratulations Crown on the safe arrival of baby Logan! I'm glad to hear he's doing well. A lady in my NCT class just had her baby at 33 weeks. I really hope your sickness settles down soon. Re: clothes, Boots do a gorgeous range of early baby clothes. Mothercare will also send out premature baby clothes by next day delivery for free.

And Mellee!!! Wow, wow, wow! Congratulations! She's gorgeous! You must be so relieved. I hope you're feeling well. That must be the best chocolate you've ever tasted.

Thinking of you Blue. Let us know how you get on.

I had a lovely baby shower. A little overwhelmed by how many people turned up and the sheer (almost absurd) amount of gifts we received. We'll not need to buy toiletries or baby clothes for six months! It was lovely and I got through it fine, although feeling a bit queasy now.

Melleebacca · 20/08/2017 01:12

Mustang - I was 5cm at 4am and she was born at 5.43am. DD was born at 6.07, so I was trying to get them to match 😂.

Lemon - I'm so looking forward to lunch, for the first time in months. I've ordered cake for dessert.
I'm so happy to hear your baby shower was awesome.

Lucinda - the pink castle is so well decorated!

HaichM · 20/08/2017 04:39

Crown: glad Logan is doing well and congratulations. I hope you're recovery goes well and are both allowed home soon. Sorry the nausea has yet to go.

Daffodil: sorry you're still waiting. It sucks doesn't it? I hope baby arrives for you soon

Mellee: congratulations on the baby and the chocolate eating! Random that our active labour times are almost a match. Hope you're recovering well and enjoying the baby cuddles. We've been using small formula top ups you supplement to give my sore nipples a break, allow me to get some sleep and because he's such a hungry baby thanks you his weight. He's doing well though and I'll be sharing my breastfeeding story in group tomorrow since it was all new to me

Take care everyone and i wish for some better days for you all.

P.s. lemon that mw sounds nasty. I think trying bf is the best way to describe it

Crownandheelshigh · 20/08/2017 05:43

@mustang27 - thank you so much for my tablets as they were put in my hospital bag 😂
Unfortunately I'm single and Babie daddy doesn't want to know however I've got an amazing friend who despite having a two year old and being younger then me actually sat with my c section with me etc!

@blueisyou - best of luck and hopefully baby blue appears soon!

@melleebacca - congrats on your little one! She's gorgeous!
Ah once I'm settled painkiller wise etc this morning I'm gunna pop over and see if they have an update on my little Logan bear anyways so I'll check on clothing!

Funnily enough I have tiny baby clothes at home that start from 5lbs!
Baby Logan likes to keep his mummy on his toes haha!

Hope everyone is well today! Xx

justtheonethen · 20/08/2017 07:33

mellee Smile gorgeous. Congratulations! Enjoy your lunch!

blue hope baby blue stays put for a bit.

Ameliablue · 20/08/2017 08:50

Mellee, congratulations.
Blue, best of luck, thinking of you.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/08/2017 09:05

mellee aww what a beautiful baby! Congrats xx

Natsku · 20/08/2017 10:43

Aww she's beautiful!

Thinking of you Blue if labour is inevitable then I hope that all goes well and baby Blue is strong and healthy.

Travel sickness can really do one now. Had been feeling much better but yesterday we drove an hour to another town and then the hour back and since then I've been feeling constant low-level nausea and not able to eat properly again. Tomorrow I have to go to Court which means an hour and a half on the bus to get there, really don't want to be sick in Court!!

LucindaE · 20/08/2017 11:42

Melleebacca I had the fabled Pink Castle at the end of the Hyperemesis Horror decorated specially for you.
Blues I hope things are staying the same?
Waves to castle and everyone. 'Baby Central' is right!

Crownandheelshigh · 20/08/2017 11:47

Hello everyone. Me again.

So I phoned the hospital that have my little man this morning to get an update.
Apparently he's on full feeds and not on any tubes or anything and he is awaiting the transport team and should be here within 2 hours!

I'm so super excited!
❤️ Xxx

BlueIsYou · 20/08/2017 12:33

Hi all, now 2cm dilated but it seems to be staying that way. I'm on pretty much total bed rest although will probably still trip to Asda for sorbet, it's the only thing to help my nausea

I just feel so robbed and I have to admit, I'm full of self pity Sad HG is hard enough without these threatened prem labours. 27 weeks is just so early, I know Medical interventions are great now but even so.

I hope everyone is feeling a little better today Flowers

BlueIsYou · 20/08/2017 12:35

Oh and doesn't help that I have 3 year old DN here with me who is actually seeming to be ill... she's so good though bless her. Just wants sleep and cuddles/films.

Thankfully her mum and dad are back tomorrow. And thankfully they were okay with me leaving her with DH whilst I went to hospital

pippanippa · 20/08/2017 16:17

Oh wow, a couple of days away and missed not one but 2 babies! Congratulations Mellee and Crown. Crown I hope the reunion with your little boy today is brilliant.

Bluels so sorry to hear of the constant worry about pram labour, hope baby stays put that little bit longer for you.

LucindaE · 20/08/2017 19:21

Bluesyou Cyber hugs on offer. I so agree, Hyperemesis is hard enough without premature birth worries.
Crown I hope you are together now!
I hope everyone is coping today.

Congratulations @Melleebacca and @Crown. So happy for you both! How lovely! ❤️🎀💙
@BlueIsYou I really wish you all the best for the next few days and weeks. I think I remember seeing that you had a stitch. Have you still got it in?

I have been absolutely great these past few weeks (17-19) no / mild nausea and no vomiting and been eating everything in sight! However, am now very nauseous again and on verge of vomiting. I'm 20 weeks. Is it normal to have a few good weeks then have a relapse again after a few good weeks?

Mustang27 · 20/08/2017 21:03

I definitely relapsed between 19/20 weeks although I wasn't as lucky as you to get such a good run before but my sickness defo ramped back to the max. I'm getting another surge right now at 23 weeks I'm sure Dead said when I asked about my 19/20 weeks that she was suffering about 24 weeks too so I'm not so surprised by this one. I hope it's brief for you Thingy.

Mustang27 · 20/08/2017 21:04

Oh and sorry Crown for putting my big fat foot in it with the hubby chat. I thought you had mentioned something, I am easily confused. However I'm just going to wade in and say it will be lovely to enjoy baby Logan without a giant man child to cater for too lol.

thingymaboob · 20/08/2017 21:22

@Mustang27 I just vomited over the living room floor and vomited my guts up in toilet 😭. Bloody hell!

Mustang27 · 20/08/2017 22:15

Oh god who said pregnancy was good fun. I hope you are ok and at least can keep some fluids down after that epic vom sesh

Crownandheelshigh · 20/08/2017 22:28

@mustang27 - don't worry about it.

So got reunited and had the most amazing first cuddle ever. Will send photo in morning, if anyone's interested.
He is an absolute star and they have told me not to worry about Orem clothes too much as they have lots spare.
He's lost some weight but apparently that's normal?

Unfortunately my ankles are swollen again but midwife says this could be due to the fact that I've been more active today then last 2 days (makes sense because of being so out of It on anaesthetic and morphine plus God knows what else they gave me).

How is everyone else tonight? Xxx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/08/2017 22:45

I had no idea about it increasing the risk of these things... but maybe it explains my last pregnancy as that ended with me being induced for p.e! My bp is usually really quite low. Scary!!!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/08/2017 22:47

Crown aww great! I would love to see the pic! Totally normal for babies to lose weight at first! It's odd if they don't hehe.
Xx

Melleebacca · 21/08/2017 02:18

Crown - babies lose weight the first week, but should be kicking arse in the weight department from then on. DD1 never lost weight but that's because they only weighed her twice in the first week, so she'd already started to gain some back. So glad that you've been reunited. Hopefully your hospital stay isn't too long!

Bluee - there is the side effect of low weight gain leading to preterm labour, but with HG, I think a lot of it has to do with the stress your body is already under being easily magnified.

Thingy - what an epic session! Rest up.

Home from hospital with 2 x DDs now. Had a god awful night sleep with a snoring roommate, made hubby sound like a whistler. Naptime for the family and then hubby is making me a 3 course degustation!

Thanks for all the congratulations. It's so worth it though!

Crownandheelshigh · 21/08/2017 03:46

@blue spotty tiger - I can't get over how little/light he is, yet consultant said he's actually weighing more than he was expected to at birth!

@mellesbacca - I'm not too worried about being here because I live in a small village so doctors is impossible to get hold of sometimes and would rather walk out of here at least 80% healthy.

My iron level is still low, bp still playing up and still in a bit of pain with c section. But day 3 here we come!

Btw this is just before he had all the wires removed because he had just been transported back.
The one in the incubator, he's hiding his feeding tube bless him but seemed happier! Xx
