I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

@natsku - thank you. He's just gorgeous. Xx

Ameliablue · 21/08/2017 07:38

He's gorgeous Crown, so glad he's now back with you and doing well.

Crownandheelshigh · 21/08/2017 07:43

@ameliablue- he was only an hour away from me in the other hospital but that's a long hour when they won't accept me cause I'm too ill and I don't drive.
Where as now I can take the short little walk to his unit, sit down and have cuddles/watch him.
He seems very pleased with the one to one he's getting with the nurse tho xxx

justtheonethen · 21/08/2017 09:14

Oh crown he's gorgeous Smile

LucindaE · 21/08/2017 09:57

Crown Sorry the Man in Question is being a b, but I am so glad that you and baby are together.
DeadDoorPost Oh no - how awful. A real disappoitment.
BlueSpottyTiger Those findings are intriguing; I didn't suffer as badly as many on here from Hypermesis, but though my blood pressure is usually fairly low, 90 over 65 or thereabouts, it suddenly started rising later in pregnancy, though the induction was done due to to amniotic fluid leak. I had a friend who always had rather high blood pressure, and they were less concerned about that.
AmeliaBlue and others - How are things?

Sorry, it was Thingymaboob who felt good and had the relapse and the spectacular vomit. What's the matter with me today? Blush
Bluesyou I hope you can lie down as much as possible. Someone else asked about the stitch, and I was wondering myself. I hope DN is a lot better, so she can entertian herself.

Hi everyone, found out I was pregnant with my second last week so very early days but had hyperemesis with my first and I am bricking it that I'll have it the same this time round .
I was being sick sometimes over 30 times a day with my first up to about 20 weeks from there it tailed off to two or three times a day up until I gsve birth Sad
I'm so scared for when it kicks in !

Daffodil397 · 21/08/2017 13:56

Just come on to say big congratulations to you mellee on your beautiful dd2! Enjoy your pile of chocolate and cakes you have 9 months to catch up on!!! Lol!
crown your boy is gorgeous, I'm almost getting tearful here. Aw...glad he is closer to you now and you can enjoy more cuddles with him. As others have said Asda do the cutest little baby outfits and you can order online too!
Baby still not here and not the tiniest twinge so far, still getting the feeling he is nice and comfy in there! Looking forward to no more nausea and a little newborn to cuddle soon, even if he does have to be evicted in the end!!
thingy so sorry your symptoms have come back strongly. It almost makes it worse having a good period in between. Hormones did seem to surge for me through the pg but I think the fact that you had a run of some good days could bode well for the future (fingers crossed)
blue thinking of you and baby blue xxx
Hi to everyone xxx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 21/08/2017 14:55

Lucinda i dont know how relaible the source is but pretty scary thoughts my distolic bp figure is arouns 55/57 atm which is why I'm probably so dizzy.
In labour my systolic figure was around 200! I didn't realise at the time that it was so high there was no panic or anything but the iv i had was helping to bring it down.
When i start to see the consultant after my 20 week scan they are doing a de-brief of my birth so i know what went on and then make a plan of care for me going forward.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 21/08/2017 14:56

crown he really is amazing. So precious xx

BlueIsYou · 21/08/2017 15:30

Baby Blue still not moved from the 2cm, really good news for now.

But currently at A&E with DN, vomiting my guts up and trying not to move too much chasing DN. Luckily she isn't very mobile since she's so poorly, I know that sounds mean Blush

DBrother and her mum back from holiday tonight.

Still in financial ruins and DH not found another job Sad honestly, this pregnancy has been just complete poo and I just want to hide under a duvet and not come out until Eastenders at 8pm tomorrow night!

DeadDoorpost · 21/08/2017 18:21

Really quick pop in as I'm about to head back to Kent after a weekend away.
Congrats to crown and mellee on your babies! And blue I'm glad to hear yours is staying put for a little bit longer. Not so good that you're feeling bad.

I've had to take extra tablets a few times this weekend due to feeling sicker than usual. And they've just done some cheese on toast to have before we leave and the smell has set me off. Not been sick yet but I probably could be if I'm not careful.

Will again catch up properly when I'm back behind my laptop. For now though, it's a window down and hoping I don't vomit too much

User1704 · 21/08/2017 19:22

Hi, I've been following this thread for advice 1st time posting! I'm currently 14 weeks and just back from my second hospital visit for iv fluids! I had been taking Ondansetron after the first visit and now been given thiamine to take along side it. Just wondering if anyone else has been given these together and if they were helpful? Praying they are!

LucindaE · 21/08/2017 20:09

gta Just dashing on to welcome you. Congratulations on your pregnancy, symapthy about your alarm. As you are a veteran, I don't need to say my usual spiel about have you got keostix to check for the early stages of dehydration, and about flat full sugar coke, the juice of tinned fruit, ice lollies, etc.
User1704 Welcome. Sorry you have been admitted. A number of people on here have been on that combination. Do get something for constipation, that tends to be the main problem, like lactulose. There are those suppositories, but those are difficult for a pregnant woman to get from a chemists, though they use them in hospital. How do you find flat full sugar coke, the juice of tinned fruit, ice lollies, Elderflower Water, Lucozade, orange squash, soda water, ice cubes, Dr Pepper, fizzy orange, soda water and sips of chocolate milkshake (maybe soya)? There is cuppa soup, nibbles of crisps, slices of frozen melon and cheap ice cream which are sometimes bearable food.
Daffodil Cheering you on.
SpottyBlueTiger Goodness! I am glad they are monitoring that.
Bluesyou That does sound awful for you, and I hope DN isn't too bad. Glad that your cervix isn't opening further.
DeadDoorPost Sorry about renewed puking and PC frustrations.
Waves to anyone rudely overlooked.

It's very quiet on here. I hope that this is a good sign, not a bad one!

Going ok here, my usual nausea triggers are working overdrive (travel and stress) but otherwise doing ok. Have to try without the medicine starting from thursday but I think I'll try without tomorrow so I can save a couple of pills for travel days (got a long journey coming up at the end of the month but thankfully by train)

user1471462428 · 22/08/2017 13:17

Had a really good week last week but now feel horrendous again. I think its because I'm really constipated. Hospital stopped my lactulose as my renal function is off. Pharmacy suggested nothing but exercise and prunes Hmm. Rang the GP and said if I didn't poop by the end of the day I go into the waiting room and having a meltdown Grin. They've prescribed glycerin suppostries and I've never been so excited, can't wait to have a poo!! Arguing with boyfriend who is pissing me off staying out late with his mates, not getting me what I ask for when I need to see (I.e a "healthy" burger with lettuce and tomatoes rather than a double cheese burger) he doesn't get at all. I thought he'd changed but it turns out he incapable.
I'm so glad to see some gorgeous babies on this thread, I'd almost forgotten why I'm doing this and they're a lovely reminder why I'm struggling through this.

Oklahoma · 22/08/2017 15:01

27 weeks today!! Still being sick but slowly counting down the weeks. This sucks.

pippanippa · 22/08/2017 15:18

Lovely pic Crown, hope things are continuing to get better. Welcome to gta and user though sorry you're suffering.

I had been having a really good couple of weeks, only throwing up every couple of days. Then, out of nowhere the nausea hit me again and it's back to every day. Still, at least it's not as bad as it was, but alongside it I'm absolutely exhausted. Less than 100 days left though...

LucindaE · 22/08/2017 18:53

Oklahoma Oh no, I am sorry things are continuing miserable at 27 weeks. My recollection is that you suffered thorughout last time, too. Poor old you. Is it not easing off at all?
*User1741 I am glad that they have given you the suppositories, anyway.
Sorry OH is not good at getting food in. I so agree about the pictures of adorable babies!
Pippasnippa That is disappointing, that the nausea is back. Isn't it awful that 'a good week' should be 'only' being sick once every other day?!
Let's hope baby Daffodil is on his/her way...

Just to let you all know the very sad news that baby James was delivered today as a stillbirth. It seems the cord was round his neck although they are looking into it a bit more.
Thank you to you all for your support over this pregnancy and you will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers for a safe and smooth pregnancy and delivery although I might not be on here much for a bit.
He is perfect and I'm still so glad I made him. Xxx

Ameliablue · 22/08/2017 19:55

Oh no, Daffodil, I'm so sorry.

justtheonethen · 22/08/2017 19:57
