I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

So annoyed 😔

Phoned doctors today as the promised me they would get a doctor to ring me first thing as I'm out of my tablets and a nurse rang me telling me "she can't just give me a prescription for them" so has made me an app for tomorrow.
However I'm now back in bed throwing up and feeling rubbish because I haven't taken anything.
Hate feeling like this as I feel like a rubbish mum already and I feel like I'm isolating myself.

😪 Just wanna cry.

Sorry for rant xx

pippanippa · 14/08/2017 14:53

Congratulations Haich, he's beautiful! Hope you are both resting up and everything's going well.

justtheonethen · 14/08/2017 15:47

crown that's rubbish. If you don't keep anything down for 24hours go to hospital for fluids. They will give you the tablets to leave with too.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 14/08/2017 15:48

Oh blue😔 i hope your okay! what sickness pay package do you get?
crown oh that's tough 🤢 I know what you mean about isolating. I need to nap as i feel so rough but can't nap on the sofa as dd just climbs all over me so i have to go to bed and leave dd and dp downstairs and then it makes me feel like a bad mum and partner. 😢 It's all worth it in the end isn't it! Hugs xx

NonStopDisco · 14/08/2017 17:27

Hey, not been on for a while, sickness has definitely come back stronger in the last week and just spent it sleeping! Sorry to see lots of new people have had to join us, hope everyone gets appropriate support and medication as soon as!
Crown one of the worst feelings is the isolation, for weeks I couldn't even take myself downstairs and I barely saw my DH, I just felt so lonely all the time.
Had my glucose tolerance test today, which they had to abort because I threw up the liquid! Has anybody else had it, and what happens if you just keep throwing it up?

Crownandheelshigh · 14/08/2017 17:39

Thanks for your support everyone.

Being my first everything is very scary anyways and let alone them keep throwing in extra scans and consultant appointments etc.
I can't wait till my baby boy is here only 9 weeks and 6 days to go.
I've been dragged out of bed and off my sofa by my neighbour next door who's going to set me up on her sofa and look after me for the night (which is nice because I'm on my own otherwise as no family near).

I'm hoping some ice pops will also help. Any other fruity/cold suggestions?

Thank you! ❤️❤️

Mustang27 · 14/08/2017 17:44

Oh crown I'm so sorry I'm in Glasgow so no where near the West Midlands or I'd have even brought you supplies off the list of tried and tested Sad. What have you run out of? I have a whole pack of unopened ondansetron you are more than welcome too I could post them next day delivery tomorrow for you if you want? I just can't believe you are left suffering so badly. Some of the women on here have benefitted from meeting with specialists in maternity mh due to their HG being so traumatic. I can't remember who they were entirely but Iv seen it mentioned.

Poor you disco that's crap. No idea though as I managed it sorry.

Ok Blue there are so many Blues I'm starting to get you all confused ShockBlush I'm so sorry. That is just awful and your poor hubbys self esteem must be a bit in tatters at they way his last employer just threw him away. Does he have anything that looks promising on the horizon I'm worried about you forcing yourself to work and the stress of not having a roof over your head. Have you had a meeting with citizens advice to see what you would be entitled too?

Crownandheelshigh · 14/08/2017 19:32

@mustang27

Yep I've run out of that one (the one I feel actually works lol).
So that would be amazing!

To top it off I've got a nice swollen ankle 😂 Xxx

LucindaE · 14/08/2017 19:34

BluesYou It's awful that you are forcing yourself into work, when bleeding and needing to be resting. I wish I could think of something.
justtheonethen Goodness, I know that cyclizine isn't as strong as some of the meds, but it has helped various sufferers on here! Does holding a lavender satchet help you with personal ordours? I couldn't stand the smell of my OH either, and I gather that is common. I used to hold one to my nose at night.
Crownandheelshigh I do hope you get some meds tomorrow and I am glad that neighbour is going to help you. Sorry you are so isolated. LO will forget this period of comparative neglect. So nice of Mustang to offer to post some Ondansetron.
NoneStopDisco Oh dear, poor you. That has happened to a fair number of sufferers on here. I am not sure what exactly they do. Can they rely on blood tests?
Waves to BlueSpottyTiger pippasnippa and everyone. Apologies to anyone rudely ignored or with whom I have cross posted.

Crown The juice of tinned fruit helps many people on here, and for some, orange squash and fizzy orange left to go flat?

Mustang27 · 14/08/2017 19:43

Pm me your address and il get that done tomorrow for you xx

Melleebacca · 14/08/2017 19:47

Crown - I've been having visits from maternity mental health. I did get diagnosed with antenatal depression at 12w along, but refused to take anti-depressants. As it's my second time around, I kinda knew what to expect which made the mental side of things much harder. Especially with the neglect of DD.

Justtheone - I slept in the spare room till around 16w, because I couldn't stand sharing with hubby and it meant he could deal with DD if she woke during the night. As my sickness waned, I can deal with sharing a bed more, but I still go to bed early and fall asleep before hubby comes in as he moves and makes too much noise.

Blue - what a tough situation. Hope your OH finds replacement work soon!

Lemondrop99 · 14/08/2017 19:48

"Don't forget, those of you on Facebook in the 3rd trimester, there is a Facebook group called the HG Graduation Group that you can request to join. There's only 4 of us there at the mo but it's a place to discuss babies and labour etc with women you know are supportive and who you've got to know through this thread."

I just want to second this Smile A HG pregnancy is such a different experience to what so many women have, often leaves us feeling differently about labour and wrangling a newborn. There's so much wonderful support on this thread, we're keen to keep that going for the next stages. So please do come and join us as you climb towards the top of the list Smile

Lemondrop99 · 14/08/2017 19:48

Mellee, how are you today?

Crownandheelshigh · 14/08/2017 19:55

@mustang27 - I will do that now, I appreciate it so so much!

@lucindae - currently got a vimto ice pop which seems to be staying down, but will try those!

@melleebecca - I suffer anxiety and depression anyways and also refuse to take my tablets as my first pregnancy etc. However I try get out as much as possible but then my hg takes over 😔.

justtheonethen · 14/08/2017 20:15

Yes think I'll just enjoy the fact that we have a spare room and not even try to share until I feel less shit.

Melleebacca · 14/08/2017 20:29

Lemon - surviving. 39w today. Woke up at 4am with back/shoulder pain, but managed to feel like I actually got some sleep last night. Glad to hear you're having a good spell.

Daffodil397 · 14/08/2017 21:11

Hello everyone, been offline for a bit, getting tired these days, currently 40+3...come on little one!
Haitch just had to say congratulations on your beautiful little boy!!
I've tried to catch up briefly with what I've missed and so sorry to those who are earlier down this road and suffering badly. Crown it sounds like you have a very severe case and deserve a medal to get this far. I hope you get better meds sorted soon. It's very hard to fight your case when feeling weak and sick from hg. I hope you get better care from Drs soon.
Mellee, how are you doing, my fellow end of 3rd trimester buddy? Lol.
Dd has been a bit unsettled this last 2 weeks, don't know if she has picked up that something is about to happen. Could do without the increased night waking but hey! bluee she has also decided her favourite position when I am lying down on my side is on top of me, bouncing up and down. I suppose my tummy must look like an inviting beach ball to a toddler Smile
Anyway best wishes to all, and hopefully it won't be too much longer before I'm waving you all on from the pink castle!! Grin

Daffodil397 · 14/08/2017 21:13

Also hello Lucinda welcome back!Smile xx

Mustang27 · 14/08/2017 21:14

My toddler is obsessed to daffodil i

Melleebacca · 14/08/2017 21:42

Daffodil - I feel your pain. I'm not sure what hubby gave DD for breakfast, but she is energetic today! Which just makes me feel more tired.
Any day now!

DeadDoorpost · 14/08/2017 22:44

Congratulations Haich I can't imagine being in Labour that early in the morning. I hope you've managed to rest!

I'm gonna totally miss responding to people and will do so more fully tomorrow if i get the chance (my anniversary tomorrow so maybe not. We'll see) but I almost cried with happiness today after receiving some chi shop chips with vinegar on them and DH also bought a load of the Squares salt and vinegar crisps. Just smelling the bag made me so happy. I think I've found what my craving is. Vinegar. Mmmm.
Also had onion rings drenched in vinegar today for dinner. And homemade pizza.
And milk is now on my no-eat list. It's definitely making the sickness worse.
waves to everyone. I'll do my best to catch up properly tomorrow if i can, nd if not then Wednesday when I'm travelling to Kent.

Natsku · 15/08/2017 06:57

Oh god, I really want some chippy shop chips soaked in vinegar now DeadDoorpost! One of the things I really miss from the UK (cannot get decent chips here and malt vinegar can only be got from specialist shops that import it)

As my sickness starts to get better I find I'm worrying more about other potential issues. When I was pregnant with DD I suffered really badly with hydronephrosis (swollen kidney) because my uterus was so large (when I had my appendix out the surgeon wrote on my notes "Really must mention that the uterus is really big"). Now my belly is starting to get quite big, and the OB already at 8 weeks commented that my uterus was quite big, so I'm starting to panic now and noticing pains when I lie on my right side :(

Mustang27 · 15/08/2017 08:26

Natsku are you not coeliac? Maybe mixing you up but malt vinegar and chip shop chips are a no no lol. Sorry I'm a kill joy.
My friend has bad kidney issues and she is in early pregnancy and she is feeling it already too. Not what you need at all Sad

Milk definitely killed me last pregnancy Dead this pregnancy it's all the dairy. Hope it helps.

Natsku · 15/08/2017 08:54

Normal chip shop chips are a no-no but lots do GF days these days. Malt vinegar is actually allowed because the way its processed gets rid of the gluten.

I'm so scared of getting the kidney problem again, last time I was hospitalised for three weeks and at one point begging to die because the pain was so bad.
