I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Many with hg find they can't take the pregcare tablets

I couldn't. Just had folic acid and vit d

Natsku · 08/08/2017 08:11

The health centre won't renew my meds anymore so I have to either get an appointment with the OB or try going without them now. Haven't been sick in a couple of weeks I think so might be worth trying without the meds and see how it goes.

DeadDoorpost · 08/08/2017 09:59

Well, baby is apparently smaller than he should be so got to have a growth scan 👌

BlueIsYou · 08/08/2017 10:53

Thank you all for the well wishes Flowers

Haven't had a chance to catch up with the thread but did someone mention they can't take Pregnacare tablets?

I can't because from day 1, they've been two big to swallow and make me want to vomit/physically make me vomit. The same goes for any big tablets.

I ended up taking Boots own Folic acid and Vitamin D. They're really small tablets

Oklahoma · 08/08/2017 11:36

Blue you look radiant and so happy in those photos. I'm so pleased you felt good on the day. It would have been so unfair if HG had robbed you of your wedding day.

Lemon I didn't even try the prenatal vitamins this time, healthcare pros never seem bothered by it though so I wouldn't worry. The baby will be fine it's your body that will suffer as they leach everything they need from you.

Ana I hope everything is ok, thinking of you.

25 weeks today and still puking. Had one of those violent episodes last night when the force of the vomit makes it all splash back up over your face, hair, tops etc. Oh the glamour.

beanhunter · 08/08/2017 12:17

Congratulations blue. In spending to day in bed in between vomiting (having had a couple of slightly better days) and panicking about my 12 week scan tomorrow and massively worrying about the fact my husband is back to work on Monday as I don't know how I will manage after that with our daughter.

Pippanippa · 08/08/2017 12:26

Wow, I can't keep up again, but hopefully have read everything, though sorry in advance if I miss anyone...

Ana hope everything is ok

I can't remember who was asking about weeing when vomiting, but rest assured, you're not alone Sad!

No exciting news here, a few bad days of nausea and vomiting, but nowhere near as bad as when it was at its worst. Starting to realise there will be a baby in just a few months or so, which is giving me some motivation. Had a couple of other medical issues/minor home disasters lately but muddling along ok. Only issue is that bump is measuring small (4cm off average) - Dr doesn't seem worried, have a routine growth scan in 9 weeks so we'll see how that goes. Seem to remember being small last time too, but had a big baby at the end of it, so am always sceptical about these things! Hoping for some good days all round today!

Pippanippa · 08/08/2017 12:27

Oh no, I forgot to say, congratulations Blue! Hope you had a lovely day, those pictures are beautiful!

Oklahoma · 08/08/2017 13:32

Also Lucinda or someone who kniws this thread well. How often do people take ondansetron for the whole pregnancy, I assumed I would manage to wean myself off it at some point but I'm still being sick taking t so there is no way I am even close to stopping

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/08/2017 16:29

I haven't managed to keep any food atall down between 7.45am and 4pm. Just ate some chicken nuggets... only time will tell...
The only drink I have managed is a mocha??? Not water or anything how odd!
Still not taking any tablets... still signed off work. Don't think I'll be going back any time soon..and thinking im nearing needing tablets. everyday I'm getting worse and worse. Anyone used these???

DeadDoorpost · 08/08/2017 17:08

Bluee I couldn't keep water down and found orange juice or some other drinks easier, like squash. Still don't like having water though even now.

Lemondrop99 · 08/08/2017 17:18

Oklahoma, I'm sure there are people on here who took ondansetron through their whole pregnancy. I think most managed to reduce the dose. I came off it at 24 weeks, and took it intermittently until 28 weeks. Frankly I'm a bit of a state at the moment and should probably go back on it, but I'm being stubborn as I don't want to (and can't bare the constipation any longer)

Blue Tiger, sorry if I missed it early but what's the reason for not being on medication yet? If you're not even keeping fluids down, sounds like you need something. Try some sugary drinks like flat Coke or Lucosade. And don't be afraid to get your sick note extended if you're not ready to go back.

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Pippa. Bump measurements are notoriously inaccurate, so I wouldn't worry to much.

Sorry your not feeling well either bean. Hope all goes will at your scan tomorrow. I was so happy when my due date was bought forward by a week!

Still feeling terrible here. Skipped the pregnacare today, and I think that's helped a tiny bit. I need to buy some Vit D pills. Only three more days of work to get through! Can't wait to be able to stay in bed all day if I need too (I repeat, I have no idea how anyone manages this with a toddler running around)

Melleebacca · 08/08/2017 19:06

Oklahoma - with DD, I was on ondansetron till 34w, and this time I came off them at 33w because of the constipation. Midwife has said I can take them the whole way through if I wanted.

Lemon - yesterday just let DD run and bring me books as I rested. She also spent a good half an hour jumping in puddles outside. But I am looking forward to spending a lot of the weekend in bed, so tired!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/08/2017 19:46

everyone is diff, some take ondansetron till 28/32w,sme stop earlier, few take to end

i had groth scans, was told i would be having a 9/10lb baby and dd was 7.3, and that was big enough Grin

Mustang27 · 09/08/2017 09:35

Hey how is everyone coping?

It's been such lovely weather here but I literally can not find my enthusiasm for anything. Luckily I have a lovely back garden full of interesting stuff for my wee one so he has been happy enough.

My nieghbour nearly broke me yesterday (super emotional) they took one look at my bump and said how many are in there SadSad at 21 weeks I do have quite a sizeable bump but still thanks.

When is your growth scan Dead?

BlueIsYou · 09/08/2017 10:33

Bluee Have you given something icy a go? That's the only thing I was able to keep down when really sick.

Blonde MIL told me DH was 9lb 2oz last night, and he wasn't late. My own Father was 11lb. My fanjo doesn't stand a chance Blush

I'm starting to get excited for baby. I struggled for a long while as although this is a much wanted pregnancy, circumstances such as being sick 24/7 for so long and people being adamant I will never sleep again did ruin it for a long while.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll be fine. All the babies in my family have slept through from very early on, and I slept through from birth Grin Please don't take after anyone else but my side baby Blue

beanhunter · 09/08/2017 14:31

My baby has no heart beat at the 12 week scan. I am still vomiting and losing weight. This is so cruel.

Natsku · 09/08/2017 14:40

Oh bean :(

DeadDoorpost · 09/08/2017 14:41

Oh bean that's really not fair at all. Was the scan today? Flowers

mustang it's tomorrow at 2:20. I'm not feeling worried as I genuinely think they made a mistake but I'm ok to be told otherwise. To be fair, he's kicking away so it's not all bad I guess.

Lemondrop99 · 09/08/2017 14:45

Oh bean I'm so so sorry Sad I don't know what to say, but I don't think there's anything I can say. You're right, it's horribly cruel. Thinking of you x Flowers

Pippanippa · 09/08/2017 15:14

oh bean I'm so sorry to hear that, you're right, it's just awfully cruel.

BlueIsYou · 09/08/2017 15:15

Thinking of you bean Flowers Bless your little baby. May I ask if he/she was measuring for the correct dates at 12 weeks?

Oklahoma · 09/08/2017 15:19

So very sorry to hear that Bean I wish there was something I could say. It is so very unfair.

I just threw up in the sink at my midwife appointment. FFS.

beanhunter · 09/08/2017 15:45

Measuring 11+5. Am 12+1.

justtheonethen · 09/08/2017 15:48

Oh bean I'm so so sorry. Life is so cruel Flowers
