Hi ladies, I've just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant and wanted to set up this thread to talk to people in the same boat as me! At the moment I've very worried, thoughts of MCs in my head etc, worries for late periods arriving and am looking to chat to people who are at the same stage as me, or have been! :) thanks xxx

Have you had your scan yet Issy? Hope all went ok

issy2165 · 23/07/2017 07:14

Yeah I've had my scan all fine growing away nicely and saw the heart beat!! I have a cyst on my left ovary which is causing my pain🙄

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 09:48

Oh I'm so pleased all was well! What's your due date? I'm so nervous about my early scan.. Booked it for when I'll be 8 weeks from lmp but I reckon only 7 weeks from conception.
Were you right with conception dates? First time around my dates kept changing!
Hope you're feeling ok, and everyone else of course

littlemacarena · 23/07/2017 11:18

Morning all! Can I join the chat please :) Just found out yesterday I am 4 weeks and OMG I''m scared.

I've just left my job (which is good, but bad too having received this news) I was due to do a mat cover in Nov for 6 months while I sorted myself out.. and needless to say this news is welcome but we weren't expecting it!! I have no idea AT ALL about scans, what foods to avoid, basically what comes next... so all advice and chat welcome :)

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 11:36

Welcome littlemacarena first of all, are you 4 weeks from the first date of your last period or 4 weeks from
When you conceived? Just so I can advise on what you need to do and when? Only vital thing is that at this stage you're taking folic acid (pregnancy multivitamins will have this in). I know it's scary, especially with the job things going on. Is this your first pregnancy? Do you have other children or is this completely first time around? Don't worry as people here can advise and help. If you want to know foods etc to avoid, look on the nhs website.

issy2165 · 23/07/2017 12:50

I'm due the 13th of march I was only 1 day out which is quite impressive! Feeling like crap I feel like I'm constantly hungover and I wake up in the night so hungry and cold it makes me feel so sick! How about you guys?

issy2165 · 23/07/2017 12:52

Having a lovely day sleeping on the beach while dh goes boating! Lush!

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 16:28

Sounds amazing! I ended up walking 3 miles carrying an unwell dd who fell asleep, uphill. You will honestly be the strongest you've ever been after having a child. I can physically do things I couldn't before, just from carrying 19kg toddler Smile glad your dates were as they should be! I'll let you know how mine goes. The beach looks beautiful!

littlemacarena · 23/07/2017 18:36

Hi @1000jobstodo it is the 1st and we had tried earlier in the year. Just typical that when it's unplanned it happens but Obvs we are happy!! Grin
In all honesty I'm not sure. I was due on 10days ago and the test this am says 3+ weeks so as much as DH is curious about dates I can't be sure?!

lou369 · 23/07/2017 19:57

Hello ☺️ I've just been reading through this post. In a way I'm so happy I've seen some of you girls have the same worries I have had so I'm not the only one! I found out Tuesday just gone that I'm pregnant, and according to calculators I'm 5 weeks today and due 25th march (which will probably change at dating scan). But I am so worried something will go wrong but trying not to think about it. I had an op booked for investigations for suspect endo so to see a positive pregnancy test was quite a surprise😍 I just feel very very tired and still a bit cramps at the moment. Thinking about early scan as I'm not sure I can wait until 12 weeks! Xx

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 20:24

littlemacerena that's useful- was that on a clear blue digital? What was the start date of your last actual period, not the one you've just missed. The one in June? That's what midwives etc calculate from. Clear blue digital measures from approx conception, but '3+' is 2 weeks upwards so you'll need to work it out from your last proper period. What you do, is go on the nhs website pregnancy calculator (google it) then put date of your last period, and normal cycle length.

So.. For example, my last period started 6th June. However, I have longgg cycles of 34 days. So I put that in and my current due date is 19th March. So by this calculator, I'm 7 weeks nearly, but I know I ovulated later than normal with expected 36 day cycle so I'm just saying I'm 6 weeks tomorrow until a scan tells me otherwise.
But... You need to book your 'booking in appointment' with the midwife (call your gp surgery and they can help) for when you're 8 weeks (check with your specific surgery for when you should do this), but 8 weeks from your last period.

Does that make sense?

You can google this to let you know how to do it if I've confused you!

Hi lou oh that's so nice to hear, what a nice surprise! God I sympathise, although not having endo myself I've had countless tests for hormone things- pregnancy makes it all better for a while so that's another bonus!

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 20:25

*3 weeks upwards sorry

TheAngelIslington · 23/07/2017 20:46

Hi ladies! I'm a bit behind you as only 4+4 today but can I join?? This is my 1st pregnancy following IVF so I'm a bit (Maybe A LOT) scared!! Glad to see it's not just me worrying myself on Google anyway!

littlemacarena · 23/07/2017 21:19

Thanks @1000jobstodo..
So I just did that and it says 5 weeks preggers and due date 24th march Smile

littlemacarena · 23/07/2017 21:20

Sorry yes it was also on the clear blue one and I'll definitely be phoning my docs tomorrow!

1000jobstodo · 23/07/2017 21:26

Lovely! That's all you need to do for now. That and a vitamin. Oh and safe foods, no cleaning out cat litter trays either! Pregnancy is a lot of googling from start to end.

Welcome Theangel! How exciting, glad it worked for you.
Fingers crossed for a very uneventful 8 months for you Smile

issy2165 · 24/07/2017 08:09

God each day seems to get harder the feeling when you wake up of not knowing whether your starving hungry or about to vomit is horrid!!! Has anyone herd from there mid wife yet?

SophSoph92 · 24/07/2017 12:25

Hi ladies 👋🏼
Just wanted to say congrats to the newbies and that I am still here! I'm just trying not to obsessively check this site at the moment because I'm finding myself comparing symptoms and feeling abnormal because I'm not vomiting and my boobs haven't blown up in size and that's making me worry for my baby! So thought staying off would alleviate my worries for a bit; it was starting to be quite a big problem! So yes, just touching base :) 5W+5 and 1st midwife appt tomorrow morning. I definitely need an early scan though xxx

Hello ladies hope u dont mind me geggin in i have just found out i am 4wks this is my fifth baby i am 32 and although i have had four children i still forget everything soon as baby arrives i really enjoy reading through all your stories and avice (hope i dont sound like a wierdo ) just interested in other womens experiences

lou369 · 25/07/2017 09:52

Issy I feel the same. I'm 5+2, I've picked up an ante-natal pack from doctors to fill out prior to first antenatal appt but haven't booked the appt yet. I'm in two minds whether to wait a couple weeks to book it so I don't wait so long for a dating scan. But local hospital charges £125 for early scan for peace of mind so I may just do that anyway. I don't know!! I feel clueless. This is my first ever pregnancy. Xx

Tegs1885 · 25/07/2017 10:12

@lou639 first pregancy !! Congrats dont be so hard on yourself am four babies in and still alot of things confuse me !! And make me feel helpless and clueless am sure in time things in your mind will settle and u will ferl more confident in your bodys abbilities (am a complete hypocrite ) but thought i would offer support x

lou369 · 25/07/2017 11:24

@tegs1885 thank you😍 I think it's all nerves and it's all obviously new. I'm gonna ring the drs I think this week to get the ball rolling. I feel like time has stopped at the moment and is going soooo slow! Xxx

1000jobstodo · 25/07/2017 19:54

lou some booking in appointments places won't see you until you're 8 ish week just because they wanted to wait until chance of Mis are lower.
That's what mine and ones around me say anyway! So, it won't matter if you call- they'll tell you when they will see you. I'd call soon because appointments get booked up if it's a small surgery! Mine is only there on Thursdays 9-2 so I had to get in quick Smile

issy2165 · 01/08/2017 11:23

How is everyone doing?

SophSoph92 · 01/08/2017 12:07

@issy2165 not too good 😞😢 bad cramps last night and spotting this morning. I'm fearing the worst. I've just got back from the doctors and have an early scan booked for tomorrow morning. Already feel heartbroken though.. 😖😖😖
