Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

@Greylilypad congratulations!!!!! Hope some of that quick labour luck rubs off on the rest of the overdue and fed up collective.

Changerazelea · 11/06/2017 18:00

@faithinme what is it about impending granny-hood that sends MIL into meltdown!? Very sweet of your nan just like my mum 2 daily emails and 2 phone calls standard ATM. Feel like saying "oh we forgot to tell you baby was actually born last week Smile"

faithinme · 11/06/2017 18:06

Congratulations grey! Glad it's going well for someone haha.
I know change luckily my mum is good and let's me update her when I want - she knows I wouldn't have the baby and not tell her Grin just wish the rest would realise

Baby kipper arrived safely yesterday! I'm completely traumatised after a horrendous labour but so happy to have my baby in my arms!

40+5 and I have no idea if I'm leaking waters or if I have some sort of thrush.

I have had a mild itch and applied canesten, but keep getting very watery yellow liquid every few hours or so which I have no idea if it's discharge or waters.

It has no smell what so ever.

I've put a pad on for now.

I didn't seem to leak at all through the night, but today I have changed my nickers once.

Any wisdom?

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 12/06/2017 19:12

I'd call the labour ward for advice Tiba and keep the pad in case they want to test it.

Baby Boy 1stTime was born on Sunday by emergency c section. 24hr labour after induction but baby wouldn't descend and was somewhat stuck so the only option was a c section.
All quite dramatic but I'll get over the experience eventually! Still recovering in hospital, but hopefully home in the next few days.

Hope the other inductions went better than mine. Flowers

faithinme · 13/06/2017 15:15

@1stTimeRounder congratulations! Sorry it wasn't a very nice experience for you.
I'm sat in hospital today waiting for this induction to work...

Changerazelea · 13/06/2017 16:44

@first congrats very sorry it was a long process for you rest up now and enjoy your darling newborn!
@faithinme I will be going for induction in the morning! Thinking of you today!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/06/2017 17:42

Sorry for the bad experience 1st and hope your recovery is ok. Enjoy the baby cuddles!

Good luck faith and change

giddyasakipper · 13/06/2017 18:15

Congratulations 1sttimerounder! My induction went tits up too - I felt confused and hopeless and broken for a day or so while I tried to get my head around it. Not sure if you'll have the same but I found that talking to my husband about it and loads of newborn baby cuddles really helped me start to feel normal again. And finally getting home of course!

faithinme · 13/06/2017 18:42

I can't wait to get home 😫 terrified of hospitals anyway and needles and being told I need the drip is awful! Also now I have to wait for my waters to be broken as been told they are short on midwives at mo so gonna be a loooong night. Been here since 8am Confused

faithinme · 14/06/2017 16:11

Baby faithinme born today at 12.28pm weighing 8lb 8oz. We are over the moon Grin
Had to have hormone drip managed well and then got epidural which is a life saver but ended up needing forceps and lost quite a lot of blood so I feel a bit useless with my first born as I'm strapped up to a million machines Confused
She's worth it though

Justlittleme · 14/06/2017 17:05

Congratulations @faithinme!!! FlowersFlowers

Changerazelea · 14/06/2017 17:34

@faithinme wonderful news! Sorry you had a hard labour but bet you are delighted with your bundle of joy! I'm on induction ward hot and uncomfortable trying to stay mobile but pessary not doing much so far

1stTimeRounder · 14/06/2017 18:09

@giddyasakipper I felt the exact same way, confused and helpless! Yesterday I went back over the labour itself with my partner and actually the labour was not as bad as I had rembered it initially. It was just that everything was progressing as planned (except that I begged for the epidural when I'd planned a water birth!) And then my cervix wouldn't go past 9.5cm for ages, and when it finally did baby wasn't down as far as he should have been.

Still feel traumatised by the c section and in a lot of pain, but we just got home from hospital and including be happier to be home with him.

@faithinme sorry about your delivery too. I can't imagine forceps is a nice experience either. Do you know when you'll be Bke to go home?

giddyasakipper · 14/06/2017 23:53

Congratulations faithinme! I had emergency forceps with a spinal block after 4 1/2 hours of pushing not doing anything so I completely sympathise it's miserable! Hope you manage to get home soon and enjoy the cuddles!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 15/06/2017 08:44

Congrats faith!

SunnyAfternoonFizz · 15/06/2017 09:20

Hello ladies, congrats to all new babies.
Sorry been away for a while. I gave birth last Friday after a horrible induction. I went mad screaming and shouting at midwife, feeling bad now for the way i acted but I couldn't control myself.
Thanks God all is behind now and little R is in good health.
I am suffering from hips pain like when i was heavily pregnant anyone had that before?
I was crying from pain yesterday not sure if i should go to gp.
