The wait for labour

Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

Baby sausage was born yesterday on my birthday we had a baby girl, 9lb1oz.

I started 15 mins after my sweep and the whole labour was done and dusted in 3.5hrs. I had a water birth with gas and air. It was such a different experience to labour with my DS. Juggling a boisterous 4 yr old and a newborn is tricky though!

Ugggghhh getting so fed up now and so ready for this baby to arrive! 41 weeks tomorrow

Also feeling v fed up now! 41+2.
Whole pregnancy went by quite quickly but the last two weeks feels like an eternity...even though I knew I was likely to go overdue as was on my other two 😩

Anyone else driving themselves mad looking for signs of labour ALL OF THE TIME? Lol

@teenybean yes!! Everything is a sign... if I'm tired it must be a sign, if I have loads of energy it must be a sign. I'm a bit emotional; must be a sign! But no none of these things are signs as I'm still not in labour.

39+2 so can't really complain. But I think having suffered 2 early miscarriages last year I'm just particularly anxious to have this baby in my arms safe and sound. It's hard as everyone is telling me to enjoy the peace and quiet and I'm trying, but there is still a bit if anxiety there for baby to get here asap!

I am so fed up today was my due date. Had a sweep cervix open but still thick. I was so disappointed to hear that.
Baby is not moving much been to hospital yesterday and they are happy with the heartbeat for now. Midwife advised to go again today for monitoring but I really didn't feel like it.
Am in lots of pain i just want to get it over 😢.
One more thing baby seams a bit on the bigger size, so i am panicking for that as well

Hey m2r2 will you go for monitoring tomorrow? I reckon take anything like that they offer :) Also they get baby sizes wrong all the time, try not to panic.

41+2 today and thoroughly fed up! Couldn't get comfortable last night and baby seemed to be practising karate moves half the night. I've had loads of cramps and pressure so I keep thinking 'this must be it!' but nothing bloody happens apart from keeping me awake all night!

I have woken up feeling bery strange with a sore, rock hard uterus and lots more show. Maybe today's the day.

40 weeks and was offered a sweep at midwife appointment which i turned down.

Next appointment not until end of next week and said if no baby by then Il be booked in for induction.

No show yet.

Dont really want any sweeps or any induction if possible, just want to wait until baby feels its fully baked

I'd really prefer to get a sweep and to go into labour naturally rather than wait for induction. They wait til 42 weeks here though, no interference before that unless medically necessary

Nothing here & it's driving me mad, got another vit b12 jab tomorrow, & mw appointment on Monday. My stomach is rock hard all of the time, I'm so bloody grumpy & irritable too, just wish this baby would hurry up now!

Just had my 41 week midwife app. Declined sweep this time as very tense and anxious and she said that wouldn't help and also told me that sex is a better scientific way of inducing labour than a sweep so to go home and get at it!
Induction booked for Tuesday at 8am (nightmare getting to hospital at that time of morning)
DH disappointed in me for not having sweep done as he knows how anxious I get and wants to avoid induction if possible but luckily midwife I had today was very nice and understanding and gave me a number that if on the weekend I change my mind they will try and get someone out to my house to complete a sweep.

Sorry for the long post just needed to share and get it all off my chest!

Hunger ramping up today.

The past week my appetite has gone back to pre pregnancy levels but so far today up to 1:30pm I have eaten :

Crumpet
Big bowl porridge
Cheese toasty
Genoa cake
Nectarine
Pineapple
Avocado
Potato salad
Packet of hula hoops

I still feel like I could demolish a whole pack f biscuits though.

Is this normal ?!

Yep I've been that way lately!

On my way to hospital for another screening. Baby feels so quiet. I feel my husband doesn't care i hate him at the moment. He is like why are you in a harry. You are worried for nothing. Baby will come when it's ready.

Hi ladies congratulations to those given birth so far!
40+2 here and feeling knackered and a bit dispirited that baby isn't here yet. I was 40+12 with DS1 so suppose should expect to be overdue again... midwife appt tomorrow so hope I can have a sweep although not holding out too much hope...
My hips are killing me cannot get comfortable sitting or lying down, anyone else have Bad pelvic/ hip pain? Any tips?

Just been to the toilet & it felt like something sort of fell out, wondering if it might be my plug, but there was nothing when I wiped, so don't know!Come on baby!!!!!!
