The wait for labour

Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

No signs here. I am 39+6 and that is the day my last baby was born so I guess this one is going to be later than that.

Notasilly oh god i hope I don't go 10 days overdue but I probably will Confused

Haha luckily he found it very funny the cheeky sod

notasillysausage · 04/06/2017 13:03

I had my DS at 40+11 after an induction, so tomorrow will be the most pregnant I have ever been. It's my birthday on Tuesday and I am having another sweep then, hoping it will be third time lucky re the sweep and maybe the baby will arrive as a birthday present. Otherwise, it looks like I'm heading for induction on Thursday at 14 days overdue. Oh well, on the final straight now!

Hi all. 4lim FTM and 41 weeks and 1 day today! I had it in my head I'd be early for some reason, couldn't have been more wrong!

Booked for first sweep on Tuesday afternoon, then Wednesday evening at 630 for my induction.

I've had no show, no waters. Had a few crampy period type pain feelings in my lower tummy over the last few weeks but they've never come to anything. Kinda just got it in my head it'll be Wednesday/Thursday now. Extra painful walking today. And getting up as my hips and legs are so stiff and achy! Fed up.

It's good reading everyone's stories and knowing were all in similar boats :)

teenybean · 04/06/2017 23:23

Oh oh oh! Just been for a wee & on the tissue was a lot of mucous/discharge! 😊

How is everyone else doing?

user1480334601 · 04/06/2017 23:29

Woo hoo teeny! Fingers crossed :D

Tmi but just dtd for first time in months! Really hope it kicks things off.. as I felt like a very unsexy beached whale

giddyasakipper · 05/06/2017 07:01

Due date is tomorrow and after the contractions on Friday stopped I've had nothing! Sweep booked for this Friday and induction booked for the 18th so I'm hoping it all kicks off before then!!

notasillysausage · 05/06/2017 07:27

Another night without going into labour!! I didn't sleep well so feeling a bit dozy. Going to try and nod off for a bit this morning, then clean the house and make (and eat!) cheese scones.

I had a walk yesterday which had the opposite effect to my intentions, the baby seems to have moved higher up rather than dropped down! Hmm

Applesandpears23 · 05/06/2017 07:59

It's my due date and... still no sign of baby. My daughter had been born by now so I have never been this pregnant. I dreamt I was giving birtj this morning. I am seeing my midwife at 12 today but otherwise no plans. What shall I do?

Apples I might try sobbing into a mug of Raspberry leaf tea!

Applesandpears23 · 05/06/2017 11:30

I opted for tv and then a bath. Considered going swimming but feeling too lazy.

notasillysausage · 05/06/2017 12:15

Oh God, I feel far too lazy for trying to swim!

CaipirinhasAllRound · 05/06/2017 19:44

How is everyone? I'm wondering if my baby has flipped as I'm feeling so much movement really low. Could be hands I suppose. There's a definite hard bit at the top which I'm hoping is bum.
Stocked up on dates today having read some other threads! (Or maybe it was in hete, can't remember)

Applesandpears23 · 05/06/2017 19:58

2 weeks ago baby was 5/5 engaged, last week 4/5 engaged, today 3/5. Moving in the wrong direction kid!

37 Weeks today, went for scan (as midwife thought she was breeched) scan shows baby head down yeay! I'm not sure if I'm still recovering from the food poisoning at the weekend but I'm so thirty all the time, drank three bottles of Lucozade one after the other today.

chickenjalfrezi · 05/06/2017 21:02

Can I join in? 38+5 today with DC2. DC1 was born at 41+4 after my 4th sweep! Not holding out much hope for a pre-EDD birth but have got everything crossed.

faithinme · 05/06/2017 21:57

Scrubbed the kitchen floor the other night, just cleaned the microwave and had to replace washing machine tonight as ours broke over the weekend. Would happen now!
Feeling really bored and restless tonight I need to get out on a walk but it's really wet and windy out and I live on the coast Hmm
So ready for this baby to come now.

gigi556 · 06/06/2017 03:16

The wait is over for me!

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Sunday at 3:09pm. Weighed in at 7lbs 9 oz and measured 20.5 inches long.

I'm over the moon!

notasillysausage · 06/06/2017 05:19

Congratulations Gigi! I thought you had gone quiet. I hope you are both doing well?

It's my birthday today and I'm hoping for a baby as a present. 12 days overdue now, come on little one!!!

giddyasakipper · 06/06/2017 06:21

Congratulations Gigi and happy birthday sausage!

Apples that's a good thing! That means baby is more engaged as it means how much of the head they can feel - 5/5 means all of it and 0/5 means none so you're moving in the right direction!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 06/06/2017 07:45

Congrats Gigi!

Hoping for more babies soon Smile

Applesandpears23 · 06/06/2017 08:17

Congratulations Gigi.

Giddy you are thinking of palpable which is the other way around. Baby was 0/5 palpable and is now 2/5 palpable. Some midwives talk about it one way and others the other way.

I had a terrible night, kicking, back pain or Braxton Hicks woke me every 30 mins. I amnproperly awake now listening to the storm and feeling very sick from being so tired.

OP posts:
giddyasakipper · 06/06/2017 10:38

Ah that makes sense Apples. I also had a terrible night with baby kicking and my hips are so painful I toss and turn all night. Let's hope they get a move on sooner rather than later!

1stTimeRounder · 06/06/2017 10:45

Congrats @Gigi that's great news!

@Apples how frustrating... hope something moves for you soon.

39+1 here I've had terrible heartburn yesterday and was really frustrated cos it was stopping me from sleeping. Still having some cramps and Braxton hicks, but nothing is changing really so could be weeks yet 😐

40 week mw appt on friday ... the wait continues

samatamfabahaba · 06/06/2017 15:25

I'm 41 weeks today and had an induction booked for Saturday, called the maternity unit this morning and had it moved to Friday cos some lucky bugger obviously had hers naturally!! Worth the phone call though!!
