Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

Just been to the toilet & it felt like something sort of fell out, wondering if it might be my plug, but there was nothing when I wiped, so don't know!Come on baby!!!!!!

M2R2 · 08/06/2017 18:17

Changerazelea sorry you are feeling all this pain. I am 40+1 today but been having this pain for the last 6 weeks it's killing me.
Just been to hospital they decided its better to start inducing process, which i agreed with them.
Going home now and will be back in a couple of hours. Wish me luck

giddyasakipper · 08/06/2017 18:22

Hi changer I've been suffering with that too - it's so painful to lay down and I'm exhausted from tossing and turning trying to get comfortable every night! I find a warm bath helps but unfortunately the relief doesn't last.

giddyasakipper · 08/06/2017 18:25

Good luck M2R2! Hopefully you have some good news to share with us soon!

Changerazelea · 08/06/2017 18:47

M2R2 glad you said that hope that my midwife may suggest earlier induction
Giddy- too right it's horrendous isn't it! Got comfy finically at 4 this morning and DH started snoring! That was my sleep finished for the night!

Greylilypad · 08/06/2017 18:55

Good luck M2R2!

I was right, yesterday was the day. Baby apples (a little girl) born safely at home yesterday evening. We are both well although she won't sleep unless she is being held so we are taking it in shifts.

Congratulations apples and good luck to all those whose babies are imminent.

Just enjoying cuddles with DD and waiting for DS to wake up for nursery.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 09/06/2017 07:06

Congrats apples that's lovely!

1stTimeRounder · 09/06/2017 07:59

Congrats @apples that's great news.

Looks like I'm going to be induced Confused .... I've been to the Day assessment unit a few times as I've had itching particularly at night. Blood tests had been ok but latest results showed increase in bile acids which is a sign of obstetric choleostatis (oc) and they usually induce after 38 weeks when this happens.

Have 40 wk MW appt today (although not due til monday) so going to try for a sweep with the MW first, but if that doesn't start things then it'll be off to the maternity unit. Shock

On that note, if you have any concerns ALWAYS ASK your midwife/maternity unit. The hospital were always happy for me to come in and be checked, and now I'm so glad thay I did!

giddyasakipper · 09/06/2017 08:11

Congratulations apples!

I've just finished being checked over after having weird vision and a massive headache this morning. Everything is fine but pleased I got checked out. Back at the hospital this afternoon for a sweep - luckily I don't live far from the hospital!

giddyasakipper · 09/06/2017 08:12

Good luck today 1sttime - hope it goes well for you!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 09/06/2017 10:58

Good luck 1stime and for your sweep giddy

giddyasakipper · 09/06/2017 12:07

Well I got admitted and am waiting to be induced! Equal parts excited and terrified!

Changerazelea · 09/06/2017 13:43

Good luck ladies being induced now and congrats apples!
Midwife couldn't do the sweep it was both too painful to get my legs In the right postion with my hip pain and my cervix was too far back for a sweep. Feel defeated....
Booked in for induction on Wednesday.... my DS 3.5yrs at home from nursery projectile vomiting on the hour.... oh the Joy!!! Why am I doing this again??

Greylilypad · 09/06/2017 17:48

That sounds rough, Changerazela.
I am totally exhausted today, 10 days overdue, DH working late again and my two DC at peak energy :(
Getting a sweep tomorrow morning as I asked at my appt yesterday. Hopefully it will work, fingers crossed

gigi556 · 09/06/2017 18:23

Just catching up... Congratulations apples!

gigi556 · 09/06/2017 18:26

Ok, really just catching up... life with a newborn is exhausting!

Congratulations sausage!

Love hearing about all these new babies Smile

CaipirinhasAllRound · 10/06/2017 23:17

I've now been admitted to hospital at 39+1 as the baby won't stop moving and when I got checked earlier it was lying across me diagonally with It's head at the top. I luckily called them this morning to say it felt like it was lying across me. If I went into labour and the baby got stuck because it was transverse, the cord could break which could be fatal so I'll be monitored and they may try and turn the baby on monday

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 11/06/2017 10:07

Good luck Flowers

faithinme · 11/06/2017 15:48

41+5 today and DH was 14 days late and my mums just told me I was 16 days late and had to be induced Shock feeling rather defeated now

Changerazelea · 11/06/2017 17:14

Faith I am with you! Spent the day avoiding running into friends and neighbours so I wouldn't have the whole "Still no baby?!" Nonsense. Also managed to get royally pissed off at my MIL who has told all her friends our name options before the birth. Seriously about to strangulate my husband as well over minor disagreements..... being overdue sucks

faithinme · 11/06/2017 17:28

@Changerazelea oh dear I feel your pain patience does wear very thin! DH nan rings me every. Single. Day. To find out if baby has come yet as she wants to be one of the first to know! And MIL has told us we're not to use one of the names we like as it is DH cousins middle name! Wtf!
I hope it is over for us both soon Angry

Greylilypad · 11/06/2017 17:33

Baby grey arrived 12 hours after sweep! Much faster labour than previous babies, so relieved it's over and he is here safely!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 11/06/2017 17:58

Congratulations! Flowers
