Anyone else got the grumps?

Only 30 weeks today... but...

Sore back. Tired after doing Christmas. Grumpy as hell.

I'm staying in bed, it's been decided.
Anyone else want to join me for a duvet day, fake wine and treats? Grin

It's been so cold recently that everytime I leave the house my nipples feel like they've got frostbite...it's so damn painful. I'm so tired as well need some decent sleep before the baby arrives but doesn't seem like it's going to happen 😢

Imavinoops · 31/12/2016 16:00

Pointless Solution: Inventing nipple gloves! A gap in the market right there!

I hope you have a good night tonight, I'm waking around 3am and having lots of rolling around, getting too hot, not getting comfy then needing to pee. Very annoying.

I'm irrationally livid with DH today because he's decorating instead of pandering to my whining. How dare he do all the jobs I can't do and try to make the house nice. I need a foot rub and some sympathy ffs Grin selfish bastard not really surprised he's fed up of me whining

daisygirlmac · 31/12/2016 17:21

Imavinoops surely it's time the iPad ran out of battery?! I also had a cross moment a few weeks back about the hospital bag and may or may not have had a rant about how fucking ridiculous it would be to turn up with a suitcase. I made all that crap fit in a smaller bag by using sheer angry pregnant lady willpower.

Imavinoops · 31/12/2016 18:08

Daisy I'm glad I'm not alone on the bag front! I've managed to fit everything (more or less) into two tiny baby bags really! And that is IT! DP is going to pick it up to go and it will be like one of those cartoons where he can't lift it it's so heavy! Grin
How DARE your DH do jobs! Haha! He should be running around asking you what you need! Mine has selfishly gone out to work today. Boo! Wink

It's relaxing in bed time in our house (which suspiciously seems to be getting earlier and earlier the more grumpy and tired I get haha! DS doesn't seem to notice!) DS is up in bed, I just heaved myself around doing a quick once over of the living room, really not fun but I'm pleased it's done. Thank the lord the ipad is now away!

I've found my people Grin

I don't ever want to be pregnant again. This is so hard. I know I should be very grateful but nine months is a bloody long slog. DH keeps making noises about having a fourth. Fuck the fuck off with that.

Lol at "sheer angry pregnant lady willpower". Grin

i'm constantly weeing myself. Any second or third timers have this? I smell like an old lady. Wrecked many pairs of knickers with all the stupid discharge in second trimester and have got some panty liners. God even the term panty liners gives me rage.

daisygirlmac · 01/01/2017 10:59

redcrab I'd have to agree about panty liners, wtf. Weirdly annoying. This one is my first and before I got pregnant I was totally blasé and planning a big family and expecting to swan through pregnancy, possibly a bit of discomfort towards the end. DH can get to fuck if he thinks we're having more than 2! I don't know how people do it, hats off to you all.

RedCrab · 01/01/2017 11:03

I don't know how people do it either daisy. I'm beginning to think this third baby is a really bad idea GrinWink

Imavinoops · 01/01/2017 13:13

Red If that is what second or third babies cause then I'm less up for it now! Grin Probably TMI but I was shocked at the sheer amount of discharge and have been replacing my knickers this week too! The panty liners have come out in full force here also in order to try and save some!

I feel hellish now but I get the feeling once baby is here and I finally start feeling a bit more normal again I may be up for doing it all again. SOMEONE PLEASE show me this thread if I ever think that. Wink

Having a bit of a random house organise at the moment. Since Christmas has gone I have desperately been cleaning, tidying and reorganising where my back and hips allow. It isn't much fun but at least it's distracting me from the misery. DP is back early from work today at 4:30pm, when my full on grumps start going. He better not be annoying. (Annoying includes talking, smiling, hugging me... or even breathing around me!! Angry )

OP posts:
daisygirlmac · 01/01/2017 13:50

YY to discharge it can fuck off, hate that feeling - have I wet myself? Is it my plug coming away? Who knows bleurgh. Imavin are you nesting?? I rage cleaned the bathroom this morning but it definitely didn't count as nesting. DH then thought it might be wise to go and have a shave and I literally stood over him afterwards and made sure he cleaned up every last hair

Imavinoops · 01/01/2017 15:23

Daisy I'm not sure tbh, I quite like to be organised and ready to go anyways and reorganising the entire house isn't really that out of character for me every once in a while. I tackled the cupboard under the stairs, containing all the baby stuff Grin Decided that now is as good a time for it all to come out and start being set up. I'm hoping the DSS will get fed up for playing with everything by the time baby is here.

(I may have had a curious "go" with the electric breast pump too. My god, that was weird! Grin)

OP posts:
RedCrab · 01/01/2017 15:25

I think at this point, I'm just going to burn all my knickers. Bet that's not in What to Expect When You're Expecting

I do recall saying immediately upon just giving birth to DC2 "thank fuck I never have to do that again!"

Well. Here we are. Almost 28 weeks pregnant. I'm so envious of those of you further along. Where is everyone up to?

RedCrab · 01/01/2017 15:26

Ima with my first DC I did use a hand pump when I was around 39/40 weeks and got totally freaked out when stuff came out!

Imavinoops · 01/01/2017 15:31

Red Thankfully nothing came out, otherwise I think I would have died with the laughter already brewing Grin Do you ever get used to it because otherwise I'm going to be cracking up so much, it seems so bizarre! I thought it would just feel normal!! (Maybe it does when it's the actual baby...?)

HAHA! BURN THE KNICKERS! BURN ALL THE KNICKERS!

I'm 30+5 today, 31 weeks on Tuesday. I'm terrible for counting down the days at the moment! I feel like pregnancy just takes far too long! Wink

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 01/01/2017 15:45

OMG, my people, thank God I've found you!

I'm 31+6 and oh so grumpy. I've had back pain for weeks which has been so bad in the last few days that I finally realised it's probably PGP and I must do something about it... but of course it's New Year so I can't get any professional help with it for several more days at least...

I went to the pool yesterday and actually sobbed with relief at being in the water, so fucking embarrassing Blush

To make things worse, the in-laws arrived yesterday and they're staying for a week. They're kindly helping DH with DIY and decorating, which is just as well since I can't, but instead of feeling grateful I just feel left out, sorry for myself, resentful and grumpy. Cooked lunch for everyone and even that left me in bloody agony.

Also I HEAR YOU ON THE BUM WIPING. I've been struggling with it for weeks already. God knows what I'm going to do when I get even more huge.

Aaaand breathes!

RedCrab · 01/01/2017 15:52

Yes Ima! It's nuts but within a few days of giving birth, you'll be begging for a pump because over supply and engorgement. Oh god, the sweet relief of pumping a full breast Grin Totally freaky at first though. Totally freaky. I think I squealed a bit the first time I pumped.

namechange I've been considering blowing the birthing pool up, filling it and wallowing in it every night in front of the TV. Bliss Wink

Pregnantmumma123 · 01/01/2017 16:25

I've also found my people high five

SUPER grumpy, hormonal, exhausted, fed up, emotional wreck. And I'm only 28 weeks 🙄☹️
Just looking at my husband makes me want to murder him and I could really do with a break from my over energised 2.5yr old whose totally dropped his daytime nap....
Tired.com.

Hang in there ladies!

Bauble16 · 01/01/2017 16:39

Gosh thought it was just me. Feel miserable argh. It's tiredness for me, makes me snappy too

daisygirlmac · 01/01/2017 16:44

I'm 35+5 (sorry to those not as far along) but I feel like every day takes about 1000 years to pass. Pregnancy is about double the amount of time I'm happy with and I cannot wait for him to be out now. Genuinely do not understand anyone who says they enjoyed being pregnant, I've finished work now but I had a colleague who wanted to talk about it all the time because she lurved being pregnant and omg it was amazing feeling the baby move and could she touch my bump. No love, I'm full of rage and in pain, I suggest you take yourself a long way away from me.

Imavinoops · 01/01/2017 19:46

Name I feel you with the feeling left out and wanting to do things. I'm getting so frustrated when I'm trying to do stuff around the house and I keep having to take breaks. Very very annoying. I love being busy and my back does not seem to want me to be.

Red I'm lounging in the bath every evening at the moment which eases my ribs and back. Only problem is when I try to get out! It's turned into a 5 step manoeuvre with DP "standing by" in case I need a hand!

PregnantMumma and Bauble welcome to our gang. Wink Misery really does love company it seems! I'm loving moaning to people who just GET IT rather than DP who seriously doesn't.

He asked my why I keep moaning about everything so much after I apologised for being such a grumpy guts. I came to the conclusion that it's probably because I can't really control what's happening to my body but moaning is one of the things I CAN control! And I love it. Grin

Possible control freak over here!

Daisy 35+5 Dayum I'm jealous! Days ARE long, I agree! You're expecting a "him"? How lovely (assuming you know for sure and I'm not just reading too much into things)

Bump touching isn't something I have had too many dealings with yet. A couple of family members have given it a gentle rub but otherwise I haven't really had the problem. Probably helps that the bump is only JUST starting to properly pop out now and I haven't seen many people over this week. I tend to wear flowy clothes which means it isn't as obvious either.

In some places there are lovely positive antenatal threads, but in this corner of mumsnet we have The Grumps Grin it is nice to share with people who just get it you're right!

Yes Ima it's definitely a him, of course it is, being a nuisance already Wink

Imavinoops · 01/01/2017 20:04

HAHA! I love it!

THE GRUMPS corner!
All new members must bring sorrowful moans, roaring pregnancy anger and chocolate biscuits. Grin

Daisy Of course! Your bouncing baby boy is clearly making himself known!
Mine is a girl.. A stubborn girl who refuses to lie like a normal baby and refuses to move to a better position for scans. (4d scan... NEVER AGAIN! Apparently she just looks like play doh!)

OP posts:
daisygirlmac · 01/01/2017 20:40

Don't even talk about stubborn babies who won't move, I ended up with three twenty week scans because he refused to be in any kind of a position where he could be looked at properly and the sonographer had me jumping and jiggling about but obvs with gel all over my tummy and my top tucked in my bra and my jeans considerably lower than I would have liked. If anyone has seen the goonies, DH said it looked like I was doing the truffle shuffle Grin

The stubborn baby who won't move is currently awaiting a scan this week to see if he is still breech

Imavinoops · 02/01/2017 05:50

Maybe THAT'S why we are all so grumpy and not projectile vomiting flowers and joy.. we have stubborn babies!!

I hope he flips over for you daisy

Just woke up from a rather vivid murderer dream (damn you Sherlock!) but then baby started hiccuping for the first time, that better have been her way of an apology! Grin

OP posts:
RedCrab · 02/01/2017 06:39

Must be something about these breech babies making us grumpy. Dd2 is breech and facing the wrong way - as in turned into me, not sideways - and at my 20 week scan, it took three hours to get her face scanned. Everytime the sonographer had me turn on my side, DD would flip the other way! Think they were quite pissed off with me and DD by the end 🙈
