After the inital shock of finding out I am pregnant again, I have started bleeding today. Phoned the emergancy gp and of course he said that it could be a miscarriage, so he tried to get me an appointment at the EPU but noone is there, so I have to phone my gp tomorrow.. I have a very slight pain on my right hand side, and the bleeding is light. I asked about ectopic pregnancy and he said I would be in serevre pain, which I am not.

i had very light bleeding throughout pregnancy with ds2 from the time i did the test. when i mentioned it to mw they couldnt tell me why was either where i had come off depo or cos i had a cyst on my ovary or just cos i was pregnant, was convinced all the way thru that i was gonna miscarry, even up to when i went in for my section i was convinced that they was gonna tell me there was no heartbeat, was terrified. Hope all goes well for you and they sort it out at the hospital.

Tutter · 04/01/2007 16:47

SGK, please don't let them fob you off if you are concerned. without wanting to be alarmist, when i had my ectopic (ruptured) i did not have severe pain. neither did i have shoulder tip pain or brown bleeding. i had pain that i described as 6 or 7 out of 10, and crampy pain across my abdomen.

we're not all textbook, and they should take all precautions.

wishing you lots of luck xxx

wurlywurly · 04/01/2007 18:48

any news yet??

funnypeculiar · 04/01/2007 18:54

SPK - just catching up on your news - and at your blase doctors - hope they pull their fingers out and/or Steveage is more helpful... I suspect (from bitter experience) that they tend to go, 'ho, hum, probably a m/c,nothing we can do, go away and don't bother us' (when I was bleeding at about 8 weeks I was told 'try not to get upset about it, although lots of females seem to' .... gosh, sorry to be such a crap, emotional female then....

xxx

she has been at the hospital a few hours now, but not heard anything.

UCM · 04/01/2007 19:20

Did she go to Lister, they have mobile scanning units there and an epu? Hope she is ok and gets a bloody scan. It's not rocket science that if it's an ectopic, they will have to go more out of their way if it's left longer than to find out now surely.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 04/01/2007 21:38

any news misdee?

misdee · 04/01/2007 21:47

Just been on the phone to sparkly. She went to lister who throughly examined her, have taken bloods for HcG, done an internal and are trying to get her scanned tomorrow. She seems to have an infection/sore on her cervix, but cervix is completely closed, so they are thinking its either an infection of some sort, or possibly an ectopic. she has to go back on saturday for more bloods. They have given her codeine now for the pain. She has been in agony, and crying so much with the pain.

But at least she has been properly seen now, and just needs prayers that the little embroyo is in the right place and hasnt decided to implant in her tubes.

monalissie · 04/01/2007 21:48

give her our love when you speak wont you.

bloody doctors

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 21:50

oooh, that's good news... i sooooo hope it's the cervix thing that's causing the bleeding and pain. It really would explain her symptoms... my fingers are ultra-crossed for her! send her my love, misdee.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 21:51

although why the fuck can't they scan her tonight? there must be a qualified person in the building, surely?

monalissie · 04/01/2007 21:54

disgraceful isnt it aitch? all hail the "caring profession"

misdee · 04/01/2007 21:55

lister dont have the facilities in that dept that QE2 do. there has been massive cut backs here, as all of fthe UK, but the hospitals here are pretty appalling tbh.

mummytosteven · 04/01/2007 21:56

poor thing, being left in pain and uncertainty. a pity that they won't scan tonight, seeing she's in so much pain. hope things turn out OK tomorrow at the scan.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 04/01/2007 21:58

Well, at least she has got some stronger pain relief now.

misdee · 04/01/2007 21:58

she isnt guarenteed a scan tomorrow, but they are trying to sort one out.

littleducks · 04/01/2007 22:12

fingers and toes crossed for her.

SparklyGothKat · 04/01/2007 22:14

HI all, Thanks for your messages, as Misdee said I have been to Lister and they did evrything but a scan. The doc has requested an emergancy scan for tomorrow. She said that my cervix is quite inflamed but completely closed. She did swabs and bloods. Am on codine but the pain is still there slighty

am very, very hopeful for you SKG.

SparklyGothKat · 04/01/2007 22:21

Pain has moved round to my back and upper leg as well as my right side, and she thinks that it is an infection.
