New thread for all the lovely ladies facing the trials and tribulations of pregnancy after mc!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Nousername2015 · 09/12/2015 10:07

What a lovely update mrsd, it sounds like you and mini diddly are getting along just fine Smile

sunday Obviously everyone is different and no 2 pregnancies are the same but I was still in 1st tri sickness and fatigue mode at that time, things got better from about 16 weeks onwards but I do also have friends who breezed through the 1st tri without so much as a yawn or a heave (yes, irritating!) When is the latest you can speak to work about the shifts?

sundayraspberry · 09/12/2015 10:13

Sorry I forgot to add that they all know about my current pregnancy and mc. Generally a very supportive bunch of colleagues but I suspect they will think I'm being a 'delicate flower' if I refuse to do it. It's not exactly a desk job either, on my feet all day. I regularly work 12 hour shifts until 8pm anyway and I've offered to do this instead of until 11pm

Eastend2015 · 09/12/2015 10:49

Nothing wrong with being a delicate flower lol!! Seriously though, surely pregnancy is a good excuse to take things a bit easier. You clearly aren't shirking but you don't need to be a hero!

Suziesome1 · 09/12/2015 16:41

Hi, can I join please? Bfp today, mc start of September. Think I'm nearly 5 weeks, Its nice to read your positive stories cos I'm filled with dread just now. Good luck ladies x

WombOfOnesOwn · 09/12/2015 17:21

Wow! I'm nearly 30 weeks now and haven't posted in these threads in forever, it seems! Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, having fewer intrusive thoughts about "what if the baby dies." Every week brings me closer to my little guy!

Eastend2015 · 10/12/2015 12:05

Scan all clear and very active baby shaped thing in there, lol!! So relieved and still shaking!

CottonSock · 10/12/2015 18:03

All good here too, just about 12 week wriggling baby Smile. Nice lady in Epau offered me a scan at 14 weeks, so why not! Have proper 12 week scan on Tuesday.

Nousername2015 · 10/12/2015 20:00

That's fab news cotton and eastend Grin

Marchgirl · 11/12/2015 09:08

Great scan news ladies!
Welcome newbies, and hand holding to get through the difficult first trimester x

Suziesome1 · 11/12/2015 12:23

Feeling much more positive and maybe a teeny tiny bit excited Smile got the docs this pm and allowed myself to get a pregnancy app and book. Just really trying to be positive and not think its all going to end any minute. Anywho, hope everyone has dull as dishwater pregnancies :)

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 11/12/2015 12:44

Welcome suzie! Wishing you a truly boring and straight forward pregnancy! X

Congratulations cotton & east, wonderful news...the weeks will fly by now! Although you'll also be starting 'another' countdown now...the countdown to the 20 week scan!!! Xmas Grin x
womb, not long now! Congratulations to you too x
sunday don't worry about needing to put your foot down with work circumstances...do and ask for what's right for you, they can't discriminate x
Lovely update diddly you must be overjoyed (but tired hehe) x

sundayraspberry · 11/12/2015 19:35

Great news cotton and eastend, it must be such a relief. Finally got my scan booked for early January so counting down the days now Smile

Hi Suzie congratulations on your pregnancy! What app are you using? I've tried pregnancy + (OK but a bit american in places) and bounty app (I found annoying). Any recommendations?

How are you paws? Have things calmed down a bit at home etc?

Thanks for the advice re work. Just needed some reassurance about my rights. Am anticipating having to put my foot down and ruffle a few feathers! Happy weekend all x

dobbythedoggy · 11/12/2015 22:13

womb so happy to read your post, glad things are going well for you. Although I'm quite obsessive over tracking movement, at 28 weeks I'm too starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnle.

Congratulations on the positive 12 week scans cotton and eastend. Let the count down to your 20 week scans begin!

suzie welcome, hope you have a very boring time!

I'm countting down to 35 weeks now. Just under 7 weeks until I see the consultant and get a scan to see if vbac is an opption. Actually don't find it too hard to think about birth now, but does make me want to know one way or another what is going on. I saw my midwife yesterday who was 90% certain bump was head down, if he is that's half way to knowing vbac could be a possability. My mum's uncle, who since my nan died has decided he wants to see us enjoy our inheritance from him, has offered to pay for a 4d/reassurance scan. Not sure if I want to take him up on the offer: wonder if it might not be worth the stress of actually going for the scan and not having the consultants input with regards to how the perviously low lying placenta is possitioned now.

cloudjumper · 15/12/2015 10:32

Hello all, hope you are all doing well! I've gone a bit AWOL over the last week, my mum was visiting, and I just did not have any energy left to do anything else! She was quite hard work, and I ended up doing a lot more than I had envisaged (so much for a relaxing start to my maternity leave). I do envy those of you who have mothers who actually help with things!
But now she's gone, and I'm trying my best to chill... Sleeping has become a real struggle, I just cannot get comfortable anymore. And last night I was starting to get worried I was in early labour! But it turns out it was most likely trapped wind Blush Think I'll need an afternoon nap today, I got very little sleep. But I do need to finish packing my hospital bag...

Counting down the days now - today in a week's time I'll hopefully be holding my baby!

Nousername2015 · 15/12/2015 12:56

Exciting times cloud! I can empathise with the high maintenence family, hope you manage to squeeze a nap in today.

Also great to hear your update dobby.

Another non sleeper here. Finish for maternity leave on Friday though. Not sleeping as can't get comfy and after a few good weeks anxiety is rearing it's head again. I'm convinced I've got undiagnosed GD after the growth scan debacle (even though don't have any of the symptoms) and that baby is going to stop moving (as I just get wriggles and squirms now and few kicks due to size, which again is normal!) Just can't face the thought of it going wrong at this stage. Currently scratching my head is awe of those ladies who seemingly effortlessly pop out 4 kids without a care in the world.

Sorry for the 'me' post, hope everyone is doing ok.

dobbythedoggy · 15/12/2015 13:26

cloud although my mum, dad and sister are an amazing support (we're very lucky to have them), most of my dh's family are very high maintenence. Always after help with varrious things going on in their lives but absoultly incapable of actually doing anything to help anyone else unless their is massive strings attached!

I suffer with trapped wind on and off and it's definantly a worry pain even when you know what it is. Pepermint tea really helps me.

Sorry to hear you and nouser aren't sleeping well. I have the odd night where I can't get comfortable, but 5 out of 7 nights can sleep without too much of a problem in my nest of pillows. I slept terriably when I was pregnant with dd; actually got more good quality sleep when she was a newborn.

Morning, well afternoon and evening, sickness seems to have returned with full force now. Appears I'll be living off an odd combination of a few very limmited food for the next few months.

Suziesome1 · 15/12/2015 17:01

Hey, all good so far (touch wood). Sunday, I'm using the my pregnancy today app (baby centre) highest rated in the app store so just downloaded it. Quite like the weekly what's happening bit Smile sounds like everyones progressing well, just want to be over the time of my mc, then I think I'll chill a bit :) good luck ladies x

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 15/12/2015 18:26

Sorry to hear so many of you ladies are having trouble sleeping! Xmas Sad
Got me worried now, I'm only 5 months (20 week scan Thursday EEEEK!) and I'm struggling to sleep well...when I do finally get comfy (surrounded by pillows both sides, dh banished permanently to sofa as no room in bed for the poor bugger) I wake up to pee 'yet-again' within a couple of hours, even if I restrict liquids two hours before bed! Pffff Hmm

Nice to hear updates from many of you, I lurk on here every other day or so Smile

Keep up the good (but not so easy) work gals!!! X

carrie1008 · 18/12/2015 07:36

Where has all the time gone?! So many of us are now on may leave, feels like such a long time away for me! We had our scan last week and saw a lovely jumpy baby who even gave us a wave! I braved using my Doppler too and found the heartbeat really quickly.

How did you tell people at work? My immediate boss knows but I don't know if I want to do an announcement as such 😕

Babytinx11 · 18/12/2015 10:14

Hi all been quiet for a long time as it looked like we were going to lose baby with a series of massively heavy bleeds but I am now 22+4 we found out we are having another DD 😊 touch wood no bleeds for a little while :) how is everyone? Will try and catch up now

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 18/12/2015 20:00

carrie&tinks nice to hear from you! Great news about the scan! Not so great about the bleeds, but glad all is now well! Congrats on dd, we found out yesterday at our 20 week scan we're having a 'samuel' Xmas Wink

Hope everyone else is coming along nicely? X

Staying posifrickentive - Thread 7 for ladies pregnant after mc
Nousername2015 · 18/12/2015 21:04

20 weeks already paws? That's flown!! Congratulations on your Samuel.

tinks, sounds like you've had a rough time but it's great that everything is looking so positive. Congrats on your little girl!

carrie I didn't do any announcements at work as such. I spoke to everyone in my office on their own and discreetly at about 22 weeks, a couple had guessed at that point. Didn't tell anyone else, just let them work it out for themselves.

Officially on maternity leave now!! Yay!!

Babytinx11 · 18/12/2015 21:04

allmychildren I have a sub chorionic bleed have to admit I haven't asked many questions to scared but baby is all good :) so glad everything is going well for you and congratulations on your scan news :)

cloudjumper · 21/12/2015 11:28

Well, looks as if I'm all set meeting baby tomorrow! Pre-op meeting all done, no problems (even my stinking cold). They won't take me to theatre until the afternoon, so there'll be a lot of waiting around, but fingers crossed that it won't be too bad. My main concern is that I won't be allowed to eat from 6am onwards Grin
Can't believe that this is happening!

Babytinx11 · 21/12/2015 13:02

Ooh cloud exciting hope all goes well for you
