Woah. Had a baby and even made it home now. DD arrived yesterday morning weighing 6lb 6 and we are made up. Couldn't have done it without the support of you lovely ladies. Xx

cloudjumper · 03/12/2015 23:02

Yay diddly They let you home already?! That's great, gives me hope that I'll be able to have Christmas at home and not in hospital... Hope you are all settling in and getting to know each other xx

dobbythedoggy · 04/12/2015 14:49

Congratulations mental and diddly, wishing you both speedy recoveries from your c-sections.

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time paws.

Not much to report here. Dd is very excited about christmas this year which is lovely, between dh and I, my sister and my parents we've got lots of little festive treats planned which is lovely. First year she's properly excited and can understand what's going on, she loves blowing out her advent candle before bed at the moment. She's desperate to choose a present for baby bump, so need to think of something specail she can choose. Looking forward to having two little ones next year.

Mil is apparently feeling excluded, but hasn't made the effort to organise something or respond to the invites to dd's nativity, carol service or to see father christmas with us. Practicing water off a duck's back with regards to that which also seems to have translated to me feeling loads less worried about pregnancy relatted things. Giving myself permission to call my lovely midwife as needed has also helped.

Hope everyone else is well

BumbleBee0 · 04/12/2015 15:21

Massive Congratulations Metal and MrsD!! Grin

Welcome newbies and congratulations on your bfps, hope you all have uneventful pregnancies.

Sorry you've been having a tough time with DH paws, he sounds very immature, but it sounds like you're both making progress which is good. Just make sure you put yourself and baby first. Wink

Everything ticking along ok here, 28 wks today! xxx

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 04/12/2015 17:49

Fc you'll be home in time for Xmas cloud x

dobby keep up the good work with 'water off a ducks back'! Ml sounds like nothing you ever offered would be good enough so try not to let it get to you, you know you've done your bit in making the effort x

bumble nice to hear things are ticking along nicely x

18 weeks tomorrow! Can't believe where the time has gone! Not a great deal of movement tbh, the odd little bump here and there, guess it's normal at only 18 weeks? I've heard really noticeable 'kicks' don't become apparent until around 20 weeks?

mrsdiddlydoo · 04/12/2015 19:07

paws at 18 weeks I didn't feel much. Movement became more noticeable and regular around 24 weeks.

cloud yes! Freed after one night. It's lovely being home and definitely more peaceful than hospital. Think they wouldn't have minded if I had stayed another night but we wanted to be home. Hope you get out b4 Xmas. Not long now!!

bumble 28 weeks! Shock Grin where is time going!

Nousername2015 · 04/12/2015 19:17

mrsd congratulations!! Hope you are all settling in at home ok and enjoying the cuddles.

I can't believe how far along everyone is getting now, it's going by in a blur even though I feel like time is going backwards

paws It was after 20 weeks before I felt anything definite really so there's absolutely no need to look for a pattern or anything for a good while yet.

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 04/12/2015 21:51

Cheers for the reassurance guys Smile

cloudjumper · 05/12/2015 19:55

I am now officially on maternity leave! Never thought I'd experience this again... It's strange and lovely at the same time Smile

Eastend2015 · 05/12/2015 23:07

Hi all- can I join? 11 weeks after EP last year (5.5 weeks) and MMC in March (7 weeks). Bricking it for 12 week scan on Thursday given my history and as have some underlying genetic issues. MS been pretty regular (mostly in the evenings), sore boobs, headaches etc, no spotting, so everything pretty standard I think. We had scans at 7 and 9 weeks and everything was ok with HB, although EDD a few days behind my expectations. Felt huge early on but over the late few days any "bump" seems to have disappeared. So maybe just bloating? Super paranoid about any possible negative sign!

CottonSock · 06/12/2015 10:40

Welcome babies and eastend.

All well here, 11 weeks today. A scan on Thursday at Epau will hopefully be my last ever. I have even started to think about baby equipment. I don't need an awful lot, but its nice to get excited :)

Christmas not far away, that should help the weeks pass for us all

Nousername2015 · 06/12/2015 11:09

Welcome eastend and congratulations! Your symptoms sound reassuringly boring, here's to another tedious 7 months for you.

Gl for scan cotton, sounds like everything is just as it should be. Must admit I got quite emotional about walking into the main antenatal clinic after only ever seeing epus.

Congrats on maternity leave cloud! Not long to go until mini clouds arrival now!

Christmas seems to have taken over everything. I'm not a christmassy person at all (sorry) but family all very excited. It has got me thinking about what could/should have been, it's a very strange place to be.

Eastend2015 · 06/12/2015 13:13

Thanks all! Re- emotional walking into the main ante natal clinic, I can totally relate to that! DH and I gave each other a little high 5!

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 07/12/2015 17:41

Welcome newbies, wishing you uneventful pregnancies! X

cloud yay for maternity leave Smile x

cotton lovely feeling isn't it when you get those brief moments of excitement! X

Woke up today with the most horrendous left arm pain, stupidity google the symptoms and I'm sure you'll all guess what popped up!?
Spoke to my doc after arguing with receptionist that I didn't need to go to a&e and that a doctors advice would be sufficient...

He said I have cervical radiculopathy...compression of the root nerves in the spine.....'ouch'
It's the most horrid peculiar pain, weakness, numbness, pins and needles and burning...got to go see doctor tomorrow to get proper diagnosis, but only saw physiotherapist last week for pain in lower back, and already have the start of pelvic girdle pain and spd!

Anyways, just needed a moan! Xmas Angry

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 08/12/2015 23:16

Are 3-4 bh contractions in a row normal? First ones I've had, totally non-painfull, just tummy tightenings. Wondering if extreme stress/anxiety can trigger them... Seem to be getting stress from all directions atm, one neighbour down our street has been harassing us for the last couple of years, over the weekend he's keyed our new car...he's even made death threats! The police are useless and basically say that unless we have proof that he's doing these things, they can't do anything...this man knows we've had two mcs and that I'm pg, as dh went to ask him to stop his antics...but still he continues. He's even attacked the blind man next door to us and still the police done nothing!
Received a phone call today telling me the nvq3 I completed (which is the equivalent to 3 A levels and took a year to complete) needs to be done again as the company that held my results and certificates went into liquidation! No way I'm doing it all over again.. !!!

Just wondering if all this stress is causing early contractions, and am panicking that I might mc by going into preterm labour?

Good luck to the two ladies going for a scan on Thursday! Exciting but nervous times I know.
Such a strange feeling going to the main antenatal unit after over 10 visits to epu...feels like a huge accomplishment....YAY,maternity graduation Wink

Eastend2015 · 08/12/2015 23:41

Hi Paws thanks for the good luck wishes. Very very nervous but I have to remind myself its all been textbook so far. Just terrified of another MMC, no HB or the words "non viable"...

This is DC1 for me so no idea about contractions but it does sound like you are going through a lot. Any chance of a bit of yoga or meditation? The Headspace app is supposed to be good. I'm sure someone else will have better advice but in the meantime, I just wanted to say I hear you and am sending virtual hugs! X

Nousername2015 · 09/12/2015 06:44

I'm still yet to feel any bh so can't help there I'm afraid paws, I think it's only a concern if they become painful and regular though. I can second the headspace app, only done the free bit but can def see the benefits of it. Hope everything gets sorted soon so you can relax a bit.

Good luck today eastend I don't think there's much I can say to ease the anxiety other than we all know it very well and there's a lot of positive stories on here if you look at the stats list.

34 weeks today and 8 days left at work here. Genuinely in disbelief as really didn't think I could make it this far.

mrsdiddlydoo · 09/12/2015 07:57

8 days at work nouser! Amazing! Grin well done you Xmas Smile

paws its normal for your body to do lots of practising so the bh are probably normal but might be worth a mention to the mw when you next see her. How are things at home at the moment? Hope you're OK x

Sitting here with a week old baby. Mind blowing.

sundayraspberry · 09/12/2015 09:16

Congratulations on the newborns metal and diddly! Seems like sooo long until I get to cuddle my own!

paws I've no advice to give about bh just coming to give a bit of virtual support and Brew as your having a tough time. Neighbour sounds like a nightmare.

Good luck for scans cotton and eastend Nearly another milestone passed.

Wonder if any of you lot could tell me how you felt at around 13/14 weeks? My work are pressuring me to do late shifts in Jan, finishing around 11pm or midnight but at the mo I'm too tired in the evenings. Would you agree to it?

Eastend2015 · 09/12/2015 09:54

Thanks, trying to stay positive!

At around 12 wks my MS is at its worst in the evenings so all I want to do is curl up on the sofa with a peice of toast- I can't imagine working, 8 hours is enough for me but then I am lucky to be working my notice! Do they know you are pregnant?

Before I had my MMC I was working flat out, travelling and doing some stressful meetings. I'm not saying it had anything to do with my MC but it certainly didn't help my frame of mind and I certainly wouldn't do it again if I had the choice.
