I'm due on Sunday and thought it'd be nice to see if anyone else is due soon?

How are you all feeling? This will be my second and we've been told it's a girl. If anyone's around and fancies a moan chat about this last stretch, step forward!!

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 11:56

I would just keep an eye on them iv they stronger and closer together then you know it's the real deal. That's what I plan to do!!

I've just had a good cry after my midwife appointment as she said she thinks baby is back to back she so flippently said "just means a longer labour" like it was nothing but I know from other people's experiences back to back isn't pretty. Going to research what I can do to make baby turn. I'm sad. Haha

DulcetMoans · 08/07/2015 11:56

Seems like we are all still here...

Will you get a sweep today then little?

I get a lot of pressure and pushing down, mainly in the evenings, but not sure what it is - if anything!

Due date tomorrow, so I get a party?

Shazza19901 · 08/07/2015 11:57

I'm due Friday and also getting a sweep today (hopefully) been having period type cramping, nothing major but last time I was checked I was 1-2cm dilated so must be doing something.
hopefully sweep will move things along. I think if you have a favourable cervix, the sweep will more than likely get things moving :) good luck :)

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 12:00

I refused my sweep today. I'm due today too. I'm feeling very very very weepy

Shazza19901 · 08/07/2015 12:02

Aw I feel for you, hopefully things will get moving for you. At least you know it'll only be 2 more weeks at the most Smile

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 08/07/2015 12:22

Flowers coney. Have a good cry get it all out, fingers crossed it won't be long for you now

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 12:32

Thank you. I hope not xx

DulcetMoans · 08/07/2015 12:34

Sometimes a good cry does make you feel better coney. Curl up somewhere and let it out. Then eat something nice.

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 12:38

Exactly what I've done going to have a bath and get back in bed for a bit now haha.

I love mumsnet thanks ladies x

LostSoulsForever · 08/07/2015 14:37

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you? Am 39 weeks tmrw with a girl, no name sorted as yet. Desperate to meet her so started ball bouncing, raspberry leaf tea etc.
had quite a lot of cramps & tightenings over last few days but it has never developed any further & I am up feeling fine the next day.

LittleMiss77 · 08/07/2015 14:44

Flowers Coney I know how you feel...

Just back from my Midwife apt - she refused to sweep because I'm not quite 40wks so has booked me in for next Wednesday when I'm 40+5.

Apparently the cramps I'm getting aren't really strong enough to warrant an exam so I have no idea whether I'm dilated or not.

My notes say I'm 3/5 engaged which was the same as 2 weeks ago... Yet the midwife thinks that I might not even need the sweep next week and that baby will have arrived by then Hmm

So, I'm back to where I was this morning, sitting bolt up right on the sofa with a constant feeling of needing a wee and not being able to settle enough to watch anything on TV or read and generally feeling sorry for myself Sad

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 15:51

I'm the same littlemiss I'm having some pains but I fell asleep so they can't be that bad.

Hopefully your midwife is right and you pop soon. It's very disheartening at this stage isn't it?

LittleMiss77 · 08/07/2015 16:10

It is. What doesnt help is that I'm so excited to be meeting DS that I'm becoming beyond impatient.. I know he'll come when he's ready, but I'm ready now!!!!

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 16:19

I know I'm exactly the same. I'm a also nervous about it all happening in equal measures.

This is tmi so I'm sorry but is anyone else getting pains that just turns into loose bowels? When that happens I want to cry with dissapointment ha

Bobian123 · 08/07/2015 16:29

coney I reckon you did the right thing refusing a sweep as its only your due date today. Give it another week and see how you feel! I also have the bowel thing (read it can be a good sign as your body is clearing out but it started last week so I'm not getting overly excited!)

ahardman you sound like you're on the home stretch!! It could be the baby just pressing down in an awkward position. Mine does this quite a bit - I'll be walking along then get a shooting pain down my legs that makes me double over. I think it's quite alarming for anyone nearby Smile

Frustrating as it all is, it kind of helps knowing I'm not the only one with all these promising twinges followed by....nothing!

Wonder how berry is getting on??

OP posts:
coneywonder · 08/07/2015 16:36

Yeah I've been having them for a few weeks too. I have been getting other pains too so let's see.

What is everyone doing to fill their days?!

I'm desperate to see how berry is getting on!

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 16:44

Oh my gosh ladies.

Let me just describe what happened to me I was just sitting watching TV and I get the most excruciating shooting pain it felt like it was coming down my vagina like through my cervix it made me scream Blush I'm now having a period type cramp again but honestly that pain was hurrendous. Has anyone had one of those before?!

Bobian123 · 08/07/2015 16:56

Coney-could it have been a massive pressure on your bladder? The baby did this the other night-I got a very sharp, painful shooting sensation and ended up in tears. I think they have so little room now that their movements can really affect us!

Filling the days...well DS is 20 months so I'm still trying to take him to play groups. However, I confess the TV has been on more than normal. I've just been too knackered to do much else!

Bobian123 · 08/07/2015 16:59

And hi lostsouls- of course you are very welcome to join us! Good going with the bouncing ball-I managed to burst mine on Monday! I took it outside as a game for DS but immediately rolled it into a rose bush Blush

OP posts:
coneywonder · 08/07/2015 17:04

I have been ball bouncing for weeks lostsouls keep it up!!

Yeah I think it was that bobian because I instinctively went to the loo but there's hardly anything in my bladder! Ive had it twice more since posting. So so odd. I had a little cry too. Oh the joys

DulcetMoans · 08/07/2015 18:29

Is there any pain in your back coney? A lot of my discomfort is made better when I have a wee - a tiny disappointing wee!

We might have a curry tonight... Just to feel like we are doing something. Still terrified of actually having the baby but coming round to the fact it can't live in here forever!

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 18:34

dulcet No I'm not. It was eased by going for a wee. I'm glad you have had it and um not the only one!

Haha j just made a spicy chicken rice thing and couldn't eat it because it was so spicy

laura825 · 08/07/2015 18:35

Coney I get those shooting pains a lot and my midwife said its the baby's head against your cervix, she said its a good thing as its your body getting ready for everything to happen. I have however been having these for 2/3 weeks so for me I don't think it's doing much :(

coneywonder · 08/07/2015 18:44

Ah mannn haha Ah well at least we know baby is in the right spot. It was so sore!

LostSoulsForever · 08/07/2015 18:58

Does it feel like you are being stabbed with a knitting needle Coney? I have been getting them but no idea what causes it - bloody hurts though! Don't remember getting them with DS.
