Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

OP posts:

WOW A GIRL

well done toothache and only a few days early, I'm so happy for you

muriwai · 05/08/2004 15:44

Big congrats Toothache and welcome to Beth (beautiful name). We were wondering where you'd got to.

Bambino - I was due four days ago and am also feeling excited, impatient and scared - not just at the idea of labour and birth but also about the whole prospect of motherhood. But as dh says there's nothing we can do about it now so best to just try to relax and take it all as it comes... easy for him to say!

hi everyone who's still waiting, muri I was like that excited but scared but being a mum is great. The labour is bad (I'm not kidding you) but when they put that baby in your arms there is no feeling like it in the world. I remember when it was all over and they took me to the ward DP went home for a bit and there was me and her alone and I must have stared at her for about 2 hours couldn't believe she was mine. Going to go now before I drip tears on the keyboard (new mum hormones)!

9 days late, baby Georgina Kate arrived by emergency c section on Thursday 5th weighing 6 pounds 14 oz's and she's a little lamb!!!!!

We got home last night finally, so only just getting chance to post!

Went for my induction Thursday, but nothing happened really except we kept getting heart decelerations with the contractions. Her heart went down to 50 beats and did not recover well at all each time and I kept having to have oxygen. THe consultant was called out at 9.30pm and tried to break my waters to see if it would make a difference but she had hooked baby's nose! So she was presenting by the face. That was causing the distress. So went straight to theatre. She was born half an hour later and it was an amazing experience! The staff really looked after me during the op and afterwards and I'm eternally grateful to the consultant for finding out the problem and acting so quickly. I might have lost her. So alls well that ends well!!!

sweetkitty · 10/08/2004 11:41

congratulations quackers

muriwai · 10/08/2004 14:38

Congratulations Quackers !

41+1 today and still absolutely no action - just painless braxton hicks. I'm now begining to get just a little bit fed up. MW has booked me in to be induced next week (16th), so at least the end is in sight, but I was really hoping to have a lovely little baby by then, not least because DH has this week, not next week off work. Plus the in-laws are coming to stay this weekend to see their first grandchild and it looks like they'll be going home disappointed. Oh well, not much I can do except wait - just seems like this baby is never going to arrive.

bzhmum · 10/08/2004 21:47

Great news, Quackers.
I can empathise, as your story is remarkably similar to mine - I had heart decelerations during contractions too (though I just went in of my own accord for monitoring after having some irregular contractions and that is when this was discovered) like you, I too am eternally grateful to the registrar for acting quickly to save my baby (who had the cord wrapped around his neck and body. Look after yourselves!

sleeplessmum2be · 11/08/2004 10:41

congrats to you all that have done it and wishing you comfort and patience for those of you who still have time to go. Muriwai i have big big sympathy with you i am 39+5 and so so so fed up with it all am going in for a sweep on tuesday to see if that helps and have started homeopathic stuff yesterday Good Luck for yours Hope to hear more news soon!!!

oliveoil · 11/08/2004 10:52

Still here . 39 weeks today. Not been sleeping well, getting lots of backache and twinges at night and keep thinking THIS IS IT, but noooooooo, still bloody waiting.

And it if far too hot.

Moan moan moan

sleeplessmum2be · 11/08/2004 11:12

Oliveoil i'm so with you on all that, i have found that the last couple of days if i pile up loads and i mean loads of pillows and sleep almost tilted upward but sideways i do manage a little sleep!! Give it a try it may help!!

sponge · 11/08/2004 14:24

Finally back out of hospital having given birth to little Harry on Thursady 5th .
Not exactly the birth I had planned but he makes it all worthwhile.
Will post an announcement shortly.

Congrats to everyone else who has given birth while I've been out of action and commiserations to those still waiting - hang in there, it won't be long and it will be worth it.

Lupe · 12/08/2004 15:11

Toothache, Quackers and Sponge - ain't it great to have finally made it!

Ruby arrived via section on Saturday at 3.25pm, weighing a healthy 8lb 4oz and with the longest head of thick black hair I've ever seen on a baby (well, she was in there for a good 42 weeks so I guess she had time to grow some!

After the drawn out pain of 5 days of intense contractions followed by an induction which didn't really work, the operation was a dream! Wonderful staff at the hospital and I totally appreciated the stay there.

She's already up to 8lb 8oz and feeding like a good 'un!

Good luck to everyone still waiting

Quackers · 13/08/2004 09:56

Lupe · 13/08/2004 11:49

Thanks Quackers, just read your post properly (I was still a bit 'fluffy' when I read it last night) - I'm so glad that everything turned out all right and feel for what you must have been through.

Lovely name, I'm sure she's a little darling

Pennies · 13/08/2004 16:50

OH god will it ever end? 38+2 today and so fed up of being pregnant. Got the weepies as well and generally feeling sorry for myself.

I hope this baby doesn't have its mother's timekeeping - I'm late for everything!

Lupe - congratulations!!!!!! Come and join us on the July / August parenting thread! Am so glad baby Ruby finally made her appearance and you are both safe and well. Cool name BTW!

For everyone else still waiting - I totally sympathise, but all the waiting is really worth it! Just think of the healthy babies you're growing! Good luck!
