Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

29 weeks today and finally my last day at work. Yippee.
Just been taken out for lunch so time to tie up a few loose ends and then off to join you ladies of leisure.
Nothing much moving on the baby front. Quite a lot of low down pains, difficult to walk without discomfort and impossible to sleep for more than an hour at a time but nothing resembling a contraction, show, waters breaking etc.
DD told me this morning that she had spoken to the baby and he told her he was coming today but I don't think I believe her. Anyway I'd quite like a couple of days to enjoy my feet up status first.

How's it going with you and dd Sweetkitty? I went through exactly the same with dd and ended up giving up bf very early. She thrived on the bottle but I do feel that I was encouraged to give up a bit too easily. Good luck.

hi all

Abbie doing well now and she only has one bottle of EBM a day now, she is chewing my nipples off to get fed now

I was just thinking that all the pains in my hips, back, stomach etc have all gone now it's great I can walk again, turn over in bed, see my well you know . I was booked in for a brazilian to get tidied up before the birth but the baby came before I got the chance. I just have to get rid of the extra pounds and this big jelly belly now, kind of miss being pregnant though.

I hope it won't be too long till you all join me.

sibble · 28/07/2004 20:34

glad things are going well for you SK and good news about your placenta podmog. am off to see the midwife today and although i don't feel very well (think that's more to do with racing around the place all week having lunch, coffee mornings and shopping than anything to do with the baby - decided yesterday that I had to buy everybody's christmas pressies - mad!!!)think this baby is a long way off. Am sure his head is nowhere near descended but guess will know later today.....
am swinging between really enjoying not working and being able to put feet up and watch a video of an afternoon (in theory) and being impatient to see the baby, but I know in reality that's when the hard work really starts...
fingers crossed somebody else will be soon

oliveoil · 28/07/2004 20:34

Wow! I stay off this thread for a week and look what happens....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Nice name as well.

No news from moi, baby doing somersaults all the time and lots of painful kicks but nothing else. Had my 36 wk check at the hosp and they say I shhould be ok for a normal birth and not necessarily have anotheer section, fingers crossed.

WHO WILL BE NEXT?????!!!!

Toothache · 29/07/2004 20:26

Evening All,

Still hanging in there despite all the MW and Docs hype about me going early!!! 39 wks tomorrow. Ds was born at 39+1. I am so thoroughly fed-up and uncomfortable. I have an appointment at the hospital on Wednesday 4th Aug to give me a date for induction!!! Can't believe I'm even contemplating that when I thought I's struggle to get to 37wks.

And I've just heard that DH's parents have booked themselves a fortnights holiday in Majorca leaving this SUNDAY! How selfish?? I'm off to start a thread about that now.

Hope I'm next, but I doubt it....... my prediction is..... Dino.

hi all, toothache the last few weeks are horrible IMO, uncomfortable and mrs grumpy here too. Saw midwife yesterday, thinks I am still anaemic despite 2-3 months worth of iron so off for more blood tests today and have doubled dose of iron, have ripped my abdominal muscles under my boobs which is what is causing my upper abdo pain (?me or baby moving from breech back to head down) and given serious instructions to rest. Am ging to take her up on the rest instructions and off to the video shop today to watch a video all afternoon while DS in nursery.

Good news head 2/5 descended in 1 week but this baby still feels a long way off....

Not sure who will be next but don't think it will be me.....

Oh can I be next then?
I'm so fed up of being big and cumbersome now and I really can't sleep at all. I'm so bunged up I get about 20 minutes sleep at a time and then wake up panicking bacuase I can't breathe and have to sit up for half an hour until it subsides. However bad a sleeper the newborn is I can't believe I could be any more tired.
I've tried taking decongestants but they just make me even more incredibly thirsty and although they clear my nose it's congestion in the back of my throat that's really bothering me and nothing seems to shift that
On a happier note we had friends round on wednesday and one asked dd if she was looking forward to starting school in September. She said "no, I'm looking forward to my brother". Aaah.

muriwai · 30/07/2004 11:41

Morning all, 39+4 today and beginning to get seriously fed up too. Saw the midwife this morning and found out that babe has gone from being 3/5 engaged to 'free' - didn't know that could happen. Now I'm stressed because I guess she's going to be late and my in-laws are arriving to see their first grandchild less than two weeks after her due date! Am seriously paranoid that I'll go into labour while they're here and I won't have the house to myself. Was also looking forward to a few peaceful days at home with just me, dh and db - fat chance of that because even after we get rid of mil/fil, bil arrives two days later and my mum two days after that! Why couldn't they all have come in September when we asked them . Sorry, end of rant.

Toothache · 30/07/2004 14:20

DH and I had sex last night in an attempt to kickstart labour. However, when I went to loo afterwards I had a bit of spotting. Fresh red blood, not a show. It was so little that I went back to bed. but there was a wee drop more this morning. The midwife told me to come in to get baby checked out.

They monitored the baby who was very happy!! I then had 3 rather large BH contractions in a row so the Midwife asked if I wanted a cervical examination and GUESS WHAT?????

I'm 2-3 cm dilated and 50% affaced (don't understand that bit, but it sounds good). She gave me a membrane sweep whilst she was there. So I'm back at home to let labour establish. I'm getting lots and lots of backache, so I've just taken some cocodamol and I'm off to sit on my birthing ball.

Can anyone give me any info on Membrane Sweeps??? How likely is it that labour will start properly today?

OH MY GOD I'M SCARED!......

Wish me luck people!!!!

How exciting Toothache. I had a feeling you'd be next as the rest of us have been sitting around with not much happening.
Effacement is how much the cervix has thinned (as opposed to opened- dilation), so 50% sounds very promising - half way to ready to push .
Good luck and let us know what happens as soon as you can.
I think I'm going to demand a shag tonight

muriwai · 30/07/2004 16:07

Great news toothache - hope it all goes well. Think I'll follow your example - curry was already on the menu for tonight anyway so we might as well throw in a shag for good measure

sweetkitty · 30/07/2004 18:49

hi ladies

Good luck toothache don't be scared just remember that lovley little thing in you arms at the end of it.

Dp feels well cheated I had promised him loads of "trying to kick off labour" shags and he never got one as DD was so early.

Hugs to all you suffering being pregnant in this heat as well.

sibble · 30/07/2004 21:22

2-3cms toothache - wow, looks like you will definately be next - good luck and look forward to your post

karen01 · 30/07/2004 23:09

Goodluck toothache, I had a sweep and had DS 36hrs later. i hadn't even started to dialate and my cervix was still very long when i had mine.

Hope to hear some news very soon.

midden · 30/07/2004 23:11

Had some funny coloured discharge this morning. Sort of brownish. Could this be a show? It wasn't loads but definitely different and a bit more than I have been having.

well had a false alarm this morning, 2.5 hours of contractions 10 mins apart from 4.30 am, even got as far as ringing the hospital as I am 45 mins away then - nothing. bit disappointed, thought we were on our way - oh well, back to waiting with everybody else.

sponge · 01/08/2004 07:03

How was the pineapple Dino?
It's odd, my dh has been quite up for maintaining a normal sex life until these last couple of weeks but now that it's imminent he seems to have totally gone off the idea. Doesn't he realise this could be his last opportunity for weeks/months .
More browny discharge this morning and some contractions last night and this morning but not regular or painful enough to warrant any action.
Still, at least something's happening.

Toothache, did you just squeeze into July you cheeky mare?

Quackers · 01/08/2004 20:06

OMG, I'm so daft, I didn;t know toothache was M2T!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I thought I'd better make my way over as it;s August now and I'm 5 days overdue. I think I'm the last on July thread and feel a little lonely, would you all mind me tagging on for the final furlong????

I am having a sweep on Wednesday and then full induction on Thursday if no joy.

Good luck to all of you, it;s nice to see some old faces - well YKWIM!!
Quacks xxxx

sibble · 01/08/2004 20:13

welcome quackers come and join us on the August thread.
well this baby has gone remarkably quiet since threatening an entry to the world yesterday. poor DH looks a nervous wreck. It did spur me on to finish getting the last minute bits though and we now have a pressie from DS to baby and baby to DS.
if nothing happens am looking forward to a nice week of pottering and watching girlie vidoes on the afternoons DS is in nursery.

sweetkitty · 01/08/2004 22:07

Come on ladies what's happening? I have been so lonely the only one with a baby.

Maybe we'll have an announcement from toothache soon
