Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

well suprise suprise had scan this morning and baby managed to turn last night (he was trying for about an hour and a half with combined jumping on bladder and looking as though he was trying to break through the skin) so is now no longer breech and is head down again ready to go. Still need to see doctors in the morning to see what they say. He is not as big as they thought either currently weighing in at 7lb3 at 37 weeks. Should be jumping up and down with joy and am happy but have spent last week coming to terms with having c/s and baby next week part of me is disappointed will have to wait - does that make sense?

Congratulations Sweetkitty - but sooooooo unfair. You first timers are meant to be overdue not beating the old hands to it. I'm sure I'll still have weeks to wait, this one doesn't feel ready to come out at all yet. Still, as you've shown us, that can all change very quickly.

Sounds like good news all round today really - pleased for you that your baby has turned Sibble. I know it might mean a longer wait but surely better than a c-section in the long run.

And glad you're feeling better Podmog and that your GTT result was OK.

Right, who's next?

Bigmerlin · 22/07/2004 10:59

Hello
Looks like I'll have to join the due in July thread now. Was due on 4th Aug, but now have been booked in for C-section next Wed. [28th July]. Baby is still breech. We went for the ECV on Tues, only to be told that I should have been referred there at least 2 weeks previously, ie at week 36, because the scan showed that baby is big and has very little fluid around her, so there's no way they'll be able to turn her now. I actually had a scan at 36 weeks which showed that fluid was low and she was getting pretty big, why oh why did nobody refer me for an ECV on the spot? Why leave it for another 2 weeks, while she got bigger and bigger??! Do they get bonuses for doing C-sections?? So I am now booked in to have a C-section next Wed. Very disappointed. We have tried everything, acupuncture, osteopathy, swimming, sitting and lying in strange positions. I've got 5 days left, do you think it's worth me continuing to try to turn her, or should I just give up now and stop filling my day with all these manoeuvres?

sweetkitty · 22/07/2004 11:05

hi ladies

loving being a mum - someone hurry up and join me. Stitches are a pain though. So can I still hang out here or do I start the August babies thread?

Oh does anyone want a full bottle of RLT capsules, I only got through the first bottle they must have done something!

sleeplessmum2be · 22/07/2004 11:31

congratulations and well done to sk and baby abbie (a lovely name, one that is on my list)

dejags · 22/07/2004 11:43

Hello ladies,

Does anybody mind if I flit between the August and September threads? It is looking like I'll be induced on 27th August. DB is due on 12th Sep but is extremely large and the consultant told me yesterday that if his growth (we know he's a he) doesn't tail off by the next scan at 36 weeks I will definitely be induced at 38 weeks.

We have been given an estimated weight at 32 weeks of 6lbs and if he carries on at his current pace cons reckons he could tip the scales at near 11lbs at term... I really didn't want to be induced again but I'd rather that than risk a CS.

Congratulations Sweetkitty and to Mr Sweetkitty and Baby Abbie too - sounds as if things are going so well for you

Congratulations Sweet Kitty and family!

Have been off-line for a couple of weeks and can't believe that I've come back to find that the August girls have started! Thought I might be the first on Sunday - we went for a walk at Camber Sands and we on our way to catch a bus back (no car, miles from home!) when I started having really strong period-like pains that would not go away - you should have seen DH's face - he was seriously worried that I was going to give birth then and there . Managed to get the bus to stop and pick us up between stops and of course as soon as I sat down the pains went away - panic over . Absolutely nothing since then so I guess it was just my body saying take it easy.

Have finally packed my hosp bag and nursery is almost ready so now it's just a waiting game. Have started talking to babe to say she cannot be too late because my in-laws are coming to visit less than two weeks after my due date .

Hope everyone's holding up - can't wait to see who's next!

sponge · 22/07/2004 15:49

Sorry to hear your little one isn't cooperating Bigmerlin, but I'd give up with the gymnastics and try and get some rest in now. At least you know that you haven't got long to wait - I know it's not ideal but it's a small consolation.

Sweetkitty of course you can still hang out with us. No point starting an August babies thread yet as there's no-one else to talk to!
I know the stitches are a pain (I had loads with my last one) but you'll be glad to hear they do settle down pretty quickly.

hi ladies any one joining me yet? Still trying to get things for the baby maybe a suggestion don't have everything organised they are bound to come then.

Well Abbie was jaundiced yesterday and not feeding very well so we were readmitted and she spent the night under a sunbed and I have been expressing for her. She's a right madam puts the boob in her mouth and waits for the milk, she's fine on a bottle though which upsets me a bit. Think I'll go on the breasfeeding site for some advice.

johno · 23/07/2004 22:50

whats a doula?

Toothache · 24/07/2004 13:23

CONGRATS SWEETKITTY!!!!

I was a week early with my first with a 6/7 hr labour so I guess I was lucky too.

Welllllll...... false alarm last night! Contractions started at 11pm. Were 4mins apart and lasting 40secs by 12.30am. I phoned the hospital and they said to come in if I felt too uncomfortable at home. I didn't, so took some paracetamol and tried to get to sleep. Woke up at 7.30am and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED!! What is going on??? They were so bad last night I was having to concentrate on breathing through them. However, I still have a sore tummy today, feels like I need the toilet. And I've just had another show, could be the rest of mucous plug that didn't come out a couple of weeks ago?

Has anyone else had a start/stop labour like this? It's driving DH and I mental!!

...must admit though that last night I had a fleeting panic about how sore it's going to be and decided that perhaps I'd changed my mind about having a baby.

Good luck everyone and congratulations again SK.... Abbie is a lovely name.

hi ladies anything happening?

Well at 6.30 last week I thought I had wet myself - hadn't a clue what was to come

sibble · 26/07/2004 20:58

38 weeks today and counting, no signs of him coming yet though - sometimes it feels that he is about to break through the sides when moving or trying to crack his way through my pelvis - then nothing. think he is a long time coming yet....
but on the good side my first week of not working am fropping DS at nuresery today - popping to a friends for the morning then home to put my feet up before I collect DS and pretty much the same tomorrow then lunch with DH on friday in town - am giong to make the most of my last baby free times and relax......

sibble · 26/07/2004 20:59

really should spell check first - drooping DS at nursery of course!!!
