39 weeks today & a full moon tonight.

Just got back from the MW. I asked her when they start Sweeps and she said 41 weeks so I teased "not 38+5 then?" to which she just responded "sex"

DH will be happy!

Baby 3/5 engaged and I have a bruised fanjo.

fox hope things improve for your ds, he sounds like a real tough little cookie! think that does all sound very promising!! (though im hoping the bruised fanjo and sex arent related...) nothing very exciting happening here, i was getting period like pains and a bit of spotting after the sweep but its just turned into plain old backache

Oh that is exciting Think. My hospital only do sweeps when the baby is engaged. My ds didn't engage and this one isn't either. I am thinking about trying sex but my husband isn't keen. Given I have spd and can't move easily I do see his point. he means it in a caring way not a cold way. Just find it frustrating that normal life is on hold now. Keep us posted, if sex works than I will definitely be giving it a go!

How are you supposed to have sex when you have pelvic gridle pain?
Last time I DTD with DH the next day I could barely walk (we took it very easy) and since then (weekend) I have every night contractions, back pain and sometimes period type pain. Baby has moved down and with every move feels like water is going to break any sec!

Think- maybe we will have our baby the same day!

Hartmel I have no idea how I will manage sex with spd but I am desperate and will try anything there must be a way (so bloody unromantic!).

Duvet- to be honest that day I felt great and was even in the mood but then the next day. Ouch!!! Only thing that has helped was a nice warm/hot bath!

Well I may hold off until I am even more desperate. I do like the sound of the bath though. Maybe see if I can order clary sage oil and try a bath instead!

Right, in the name of science I shall attempt to DTD this evening - DH willing of course. Eek we might Hartmel!!

Well have for the last hour about every 3-6 min contractions. Pretty painful and take my breath away.
Maybe my gut feeling is coming true. Had a feeling since 20 week scan that baby will arrive either oct 15 or 16.. (Live in America and we have now 11:22 am. So still have all day )
Had to ask DH to come home from work as I couldn't carry DS the stairs down. Or even take care of him today!
My mom is mad at me as she and SIL wanted to come over for a visit but I'm in no mood for visitors but she doesn't understand that

Still having contractions but further apart..
Saw the doctor, he said the cervix is closed but had a couple contractions while seeing him and he said he will not be surprised if baby arrives before the weekend.

I don't know if he tried to sweep but since I'm home, I feel very uncomfortable and the contractions are stronger. Still further apart.

Tried going for a walk with DS but after 2 min went inside as I had down there..

Anything to report anyone? I had sweep yesterday, didn't really realise how much hope I'd pinned on it until it didn't work! Absolutely nothing afterwards - no show, no cramps nothing. I am airtight!! Dr said cervix central coming forward, 1 -2 dilated, but not that stretchy and 2cms thick - she did manage to go in for a sweep, but I just don't think it is ready. Baby low and I think got a bit lower after.

just feeling tired, grumpy and upset now - have induction booked.

Hope others are feeling more positive than me! I'm sure good vibes help the birth hormones, must try to shift mood today...

It is so frustrating.. Was in pain a lot before I went to bed could not sleep. Finally at 2 am I fell asleep, woke up with only back pain. Otherwise everything has died down..

I'm so tired already.. Didn't experience this with my first. It is now 5 days on and of contractions! False hopes.

I went horse riding when I went overdue certain,y got me going last time have warned dh that if I go overdue this time horse shall be brought out for a gentle walk so I can get this one going.

Devon- I am 40+1 and nothing beyond the odd period style cramps. So excited yesterday by my dodgy tummy but it amounted to nothing...On the plus side, a friend who was due a few days ago had her baby yesterday. A wee boy- delighted for her.

hartmel v much hoping you are labouring away...I had a long on off bit with my last birth, very annoying, I sympathise.

No baby. No contraction! Just feel so sick to my stomach! Heart palpitation (didn't had that problem in this pregnancy)
Everything down below just hurts. Feel pretty bruised up.
My doctor checked yesterday for infection.
DH stayed home work today, so I can rest..

I wish there would be a zipper at the cervix you could open. I'm so fed up! I hope it won't be another week. I really hope my lo will be here latest by Sunday evening.

Well baby Fissa arrived yesterday morning at 06.59! Was a very long drawn out process - 2 sweeps, 2 times to be induced that didn't happen & the end result a healthy boy born with just gas & air and weighing 10lb 6oz!

Nothing happening here. I am only 2 days over but it feels like months.

Congrats fissa!! And much respect over 10lb on just gas n air!!!! That's nearly double the weight of my DD! Hope you're recovering well x
