39 weeks today & a full moon tonight.
Come on baby! Anyone else want to join me in a moon dance tonight?

Nah, I've been getting lucky like that every day - nowt.

mundaycakes - yay!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/10/2014 01:34

Pregnancy insomnia here too Sad might just get up abd have a bubble bath.

Fissawissa · 09/10/2014 03:31

I'm still awake too Confused having some painful contractions (?) & honestly feel like baby is going to pop his head out & say 'howya mammy' any minute now!

I'm over tired! Watching DS all day, making sure he doesn't get in trouble and cooking salsa (canned 16x500 ml jars)
Currently 37+5 weeks! And I'm hoping that little one will come any day now.
I'm a bitch lately, exhausted, and tired of the bh that are painful this time around

Any lucky ones that hold their little ones?

MundayCakes85 · 09/10/2014 07:14

Still here, restless night as well but no signs of baby Sad

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/10/2014 07:30

Still pregnant. No pains. No signs. Oooh OP am very excited for you!

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 08:00

Still pregnant here too. Baby was going nuts every time I woke up in the night, but that's been going on for a week. Woke up in another foul mood, so hot surprised it doesn't want to come out.

Fissawissa · 09/10/2014 09:18

Still very much pregnant too Sad
Fell asleep at 5am, woke up this morning & nothing. So disappointing.

Nothing happening here either.

As a lady on the October antenatal thread put it "I'm off for a fingering from a random stranger" this morning Grin

Second one this week so maybe it might get things going I'm not holding my breath though!

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 10:19

I'm going for a fingering today too. I've shaved my legs and on the way will have my toenails done.. feel like I've made an effort for the poor person!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/10/2014 10:38

hehe goats you go all out for these Dates!

FoxSticks · 09/10/2014 10:50

40+5 and the full moon didn't work for me either. I woke up every hour between 1 and 6 though. I'm so bored of being pregnant now. If my Dad and his wife bang on about how clear their diaries are this week to look after dd and how fed up they are of waiting one more time I might explode!

Errrr2012 · 09/10/2014 11:09

Haha! goats I've had two ahem...fingerings in the last week, choose your date wisely, my second one was a bit of a shocker!

I too am still pregnant despite having cramps on and off all night and they were much worse during breakfast time. But alas it has all died down again grrrr. Induction beckons on Sunday.

FoxSticks · 09/10/2014 11:13

I'm a bit jealous of all these fingerings. Mine isn't scheduled until Monday when I'll be 41+2. Everyone keeps on saying I should be calling the mw and demanding an earlier one but I don't want to be difficult!

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 11:17

I'm supposed to be being induced tomorrow, but I've said no thanks. Daily monitoring starts at 10 in the morning - and I only got away because at my last consultant appointment on Tuesday I'd been having contractions every 15/20 minutes for 17 hours. We all thought it was starting off on its own. But nooooo. So, I expect I'll have a fight on my hands not to be kept in tomorrow. Arses.

Errrr2012 · 09/10/2014 11:20

fox I've only had mine early (39+4 today) because blood pressure is getting a bit crazy. Won't be allowed to go over my due date cause of previous section and BP might dictate proceedings anyway. MW suggested I have a good boff instead of more sweeps, just need to work up the enthusiasm and convince DH! (And have my BP medication close at hand just in case!)

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 11:35

My midwife originally told me to book a sweep at 40 weeks, and another one at 41 weeks. That was back at 37 weeks, and I was already feeling as if things were imminent (baby felt lower then than it does now!), so didn't book either appointment. Today's is an emergency community midwife appointment I called for yesterday to reduce risk of being clobbered at monitoring tomorrow.

My poor boyfriend is all over the place. If he comes tomorrow to help me stand my ground, then will that start his paternity leave. Should he start anyway, because realistically by Monday I'll have crumbled and agreed to induction if I'm still feeling as I do right now? Gah, who knows. We had a proper false alarm on Monday night... he packed a bag, we parked the car facing the right way to make life easier at 3am, my doula was warned to be on call... and then nothing. Sex every day is not helping either - although obviously nice/quite comedy.

FoxSticks · 09/10/2014 11:51

Mmmnnn. Not keen on the idea of sex really Blush. Is it bad that the idea of a fingering from a stranger is more appealing than than sex with my DH? Grin

Goats, I had to have an induction with my dd as my waters went at 37+2 but contractions didn't start. I really really didn't want one and sobbed my heart out about it as I thought it would lead to interventions, epidural and then problems with bf. As it was, I had the pessary which kicked things off and dd was born 12 hours later after a really straightforward labour, she took to bf like a pro, and I fed her for a year. Not all inductions are bad ones, some are great although I completely understand why you don't want one.

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 11:56

foxsticks - I'm just going on the anecdotal evidence I have of the 11 women I know who have been induced at my local hospital over the last few months, all ending up with C-sections or forceps in theatre. Can't help but feel quite strongly about avoiding it! I expect I'll get got anyway, so I'm trying to resign myself to it.

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 11:57

Weirdly (unreasonably), I reckon that if things at least start naturally, but end up in C-section or forceps in theatre, I'll be able to deal with it better - mentally I mean.

The more time I have to think about it, the worse things get, obviously.

FoxSticks · 09/10/2014 12:02

I completely understand because I had the same exact same fears, it's what you are taught at anti natal too. I guess I just wanted to add a positive story to the negative ones you will already know. It's a really hard decision to make, and it was probably easier for me as I didn't really have a choice, I couldn't risk the possibility of infection. Unmumsnetty hugs for you. You have to do what feels right for you.

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 12:09

Hopefully the further down the road I can get without being 'caught', the more easily things might happen eventually once I end up crumbling and being induced - no 50 hour marathons and other nice day dreams.

Pregnantagain7 · 09/10/2014 12:35

Well fingering is complete.

Everything very favourable and waters really bulging. Come on baby it's time to leave the big mama house.

Going to try dtd tonight and if that doesn't work it can stay until induction next week.

Midwife reckons it's another whopper (Ds was 10lb8) it needs to come soon before it gets any bigger at this rate I will be giving birth to a toddler Grin

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 14:49

Fingering complete here too - only really just starting to gear up apparently, so I'm pretty sure nothing will happen. But talking to nice community midwives always puts me in a good mood to just go all zen about it and wait. Right now I feel pretty happy about hanging on until it's ready. Give me 10 minutes and I'll be the other way again.. haha.

DinoSnores · 09/10/2014 16:30

My CMWs are too busy today to come round to do what would be my fourth sweep, so it will be done tomorrow. Induction is booked for Saturday morning, but the MW thinks all I'll need is my waters broken, so I hope it is nice and simple.
