Would I always get a Show? Ive yet to have one which is making me think I cant possibly be close.

FoxSticks · 12/10/2014 08:14

I'm not sure, I was induced last time so didn't have a show until after I had the gel. All this sign of impending labour is nearly as bloody irritating as symptom spotting when ttc!

Is the Disney on ice far away? Could you line someone up as a reserve and see how you feel throughout the course of today?

devoncreamtea · 12/10/2014 08:43

hacked I've had 4 babies and 2 shows before birth...other times they just came out during labour (just before pushing stage!) so it's not inevitable. With my 4th, I had a long on off situation, like you are experiencing now, with runs of period pains and niggly feelings for 3 weeks - it was so confusing! However when he did come, it was super fast - so may well be worth bearing that possibility in mind as you get closer to due date and if these crampy things don't come to anything...

Sorry to hear possible labours have halted for eveyone - nothing to write home about here either - feel decidedly unpregnant today, may even clean the house. Although our washing machine has given up (and I'm not sure I sent off the parts guarantee.....) so serious lack of pants situation looming. I am not going commando for my sweep...

I am glad some of you are making progress. I know I am only 39+3 but was hoping not to go too far over. With by ds there was no build up, just a sudden onslaught of contractions and 4.5 hours later he arrived. guess I am just anxious about getting it over with in case I deliver in the car park this time. Good luck ladies. I will keep checking in to see how you are all doing. Thanks

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/10/2014 09:14

Disney is only five mins drive away - my dad is dropping and collecting us as its a nightmare parking in that area on an event day. My lovely DM is on her way home frim her trip today so will take DD if I cant.

Fissawissa · 12/10/2014 12:44

All stopped last night here too, quite glad as like I said I want DS to have his own birthday Wink
Lots of extra discharge, painful bump, lots of poo but that's about it! Oh Exocet for the inslaight of messages- 'any sign' 'any movement' blah blah blah.
I have informed my DH I am having a clary sage bath tonight & then DTD. The last time we done that we conceived this one so here's hoping!

Good - if undesirable - plan fissa!! I keep thinking 'I should just dtd' but can't bring myself to! Am extremely grumpy today and hate everything, trying to tel;l myself it is a 'shift in hormones' but suspect I am just being a cow.

FoxSticks · 12/10/2014 14:07

I'm struggling to even move let alone consider dtd today. Yesterday I felt great and did an hour long walk, today I am in so much pain, not contractions or BH but just a constant numb pain at the bottom of my bump interspersed with lots of stabby pains particularly when the baby moves. For the first time in 41 weeks and 1 day I get the bowling ball analogy! I seriously don't think I can do another 6 days like this so hope things kick off soon.

devoncreamtea · 12/10/2014 14:21

fingers crossed fox - hopefully the bowling ball means the head is nice and low bouncing about on your cervix - could start everything off....

FoxSticks · 12/10/2014 14:31

I think I might just be having the c word bit don't want to curse myself - it's quite ouchy. I'm bending over my ball with my toddler climbing on my back which isn't helping much. I'm going to drink my tea, have a bath and see what happens.

BikeRunSki · 12/10/2014 14:34

DS came on a full moon at 37+5. Good luck ladies.

devoncreamtea · 12/10/2014 14:49

fab!! good luck!

ruth1104 · 12/10/2014 15:20

well nothing happening at this end either, constant twinges (suspect its just the super active baby) definitely feels like the symptom spotting of ttc though fox! Due on wed and thought id totally accepted that id be late then people kept telling me early first baby stories! (generally also the people with i-loved-being-pregnant storiesâ?¦) But yesterday i just reached the point of enough!! has anyone spoken to their mw about evening primrose oil? is it safe? hopefully quiet from goats and fissa means good things!

Fissawissa · 12/10/2014 15:46

Just walked around sainsburys & feel like I've been hit by a bus!
I have been taking 1000mg of evening primrose oil for the last 2 weeks - I have heard you can insert them into your nether regions but I haven't been that adventurous!
Oh believe me the last thing I (and I suspect my DH) want to do is DTD but desperation is creeping inBlush

I feel your pain fissa!! Part of me - very cruelly - feels a bit miffed that my dh seems only to be required for the fun parts...he mentioned last night about oral prostaglandin being effective - erm, NO!!

Pregnantagain7 · 12/10/2014 21:13

I dtd the other night not an experience I want to repeat while pregnant Grin
On the plus side contractions coming every 3-7 mins and very ouchy! Bouncing on a ball and keeping everything crossed except legs :)

devoncreamtea · 12/10/2014 21:17

ooh exciting! good luck!

duvetfan · 12/10/2014 21:19

ooh sounds promising. good luck. Smile

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/10/2014 21:26

Hope everyone is well.

Disney was utterly magical! Had BH all the way through but barely any pain. Just scoffed a chinese and trying to relax so my stomach stops tightening.

devoncreamtea · 12/10/2014 21:39

hacked sounds like a fun trip out!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/10/2014 21:42

DD was just in awe of it all. I said to DH that I was worrying about "abandoning" her when I went into hospital to have the baby but tonight has been such amazing quality time that I feel like ive filled that cup up and she will be ok for a couple of days if I do have to go in soon.

FoxSticks · 13/10/2014 00:43

So the pains are still coming, they aren't as intense as earlier but I'm having to breathe through some of them. What makes everything more stressful though is my husband has just taken our dd to hospital. She struggles with breathing problems when she has a cold and she is really unwell again tonight Sad I'm lying in bed trying to ignore the pains as now is definitely not a convenient time to have the baby.

ruth1104 · 13/10/2014 05:05

aww no hope your DD gets well soon Foxsticks! And that things dont move toooo quickly for you :/

devoncreamtea · 13/10/2014 09:38

Oh fox hope your dd is home and well.

FoxSticks · 13/10/2014 09:49

Morning all, contractions carried on all night, they were regular, every five minutes and lasting a minute, didn't stop when I had a bath or changed position so I went in only to be sent home as I was only 3cm. I felt a right numpty. I think i panicked with my daughter and husband already being there and although regular the contractions aren't strong enough. DH and DD are still at hospital and probably will be until lunchtime I guess. My contractions have died right off since having a couple of hours sleep. I'm pretty fed up Sad
