Very early days I know but would love to talk to others in same situation. This is no. 3 (no. 2 was a mere 1 week fantasy last year) so am keeping this one to myself (and all of you).

Anyone else?

Jezebel

Smellymelly I'm doing both threads as well. Due 31st December - but C/s means it will be before xmas.....

We ordered our motability car today That was exciting. Glad I got the positive test before ordering or I could have made an expensive mistake (the car we have ordered has 7 seats )

Finally got round to booking in with my dr yesterday. Now just need to wait for the midwife to call.

Nimme · 16/05/2004 23:22

4 kids - fantastic!

Are you the only one with twins at the moment?

Nothing personal but I hope I won't join you (wanted that first time round) but if I do I do and we'll cope - just watch some nanny or two get very rich....

not sure if you're reading now Jezebel, but just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear it hasn't worked out for you. I hope you can get some answers from your appt with the consultant in a few weeks time - like you said we've got a lot in common...I'm really sorry about what's happened. thinking of you,
hana

Hi, I'm due with my 2nd (we have a dd aged 18 months)on 5th Dec.Bit shellshocked - this one was unplanned and very unexpected, but pleased now we are getting our heads round it.
Looking forward to getting the next two/three weeks out of the way - had hyperemesis last time and just a bit queasy this time, so should be grateful! but its not much fun, is it?

honeybunny · 18/05/2004 11:43

Finally feel brave enough to "come out" and admit that I'm expecting my 3rd on Dec12. Had some problems with persistant bleeding so its all felt v touch and go so far. Had a scan y'day and baby is fine. Phew. Fingers crossed for the next litle while though!
Congrats to everyone else!

Jezebel · 18/05/2004 16:37

Thank you all for your kind words of support. Hana, love for you and your baby.

ginger29 · 19/05/2004 18:42

Congratulations Treyuk and smellymelly.
Can somebody tell me what preggy pops are? Sound v exciting and a good alternative to ginger tea which I am becoming desperately bored of. Nausea seems to be getting slightly better - touch wood. Exhaustion getting much worse. Finding myself practically narcoleptic with need to suddenly go to sleep.
Anyone have any tips on keeping friends quiet? Partner and I are becoming tired of coming up with reasons for my tiredness, absence at social occasions and tee totalness. Was saying kidney infection and antibiotics for a while but now they are all worried I have some terrible illness! Have told one close friend but wanted to wait for scan (3 weeks) before announcing to rest. Locking myself away from all contact is currently seeming like best option!

Nimme · 22/05/2004 14:33

Ginger - ducking out of social cirle seems the only way as lying becomes very tiresome. We have spilt the beans to most though (as it is fairly obvious and many have guessed). Keeping the rest in the dark for another week - seem to have been waiting for this scan forever....

As for preggie pops - I bought (motherbliss.com) and yes they work but only in so far that sucking any sweet/bon bon type thing works. As soon as finished nausea is right back - with me anyway. Also had to buy DD her own as she wanted mine - not great.

hana · 22/05/2004 17:49

you did Nimme, what a mind! IN the morning, am really quite anxious, I haven't been dealing with things very well over the last week or so.....I know nothing is a sure thing.....but will be of some comfort tomorrow I hope.

Big big big congrats to all the recent joiners!! I'm sick most of the day and tired for the rest of it......but just want to send you lots of good happy wishes!!

anyone else feel as sh*y as I do?
hana

ginger29 · 22/05/2004 18:55

Thanks for advice Nimme. Spoke too soon last time as nausea has returned with a vengance. I also fainted today in a cafe. Staff were great but felt a bit silly. Came home and ate lots of cake - purely for blood sugar reasons of course! Must be a major growth spurt this week as could hardly move off sofa all weekend. Back at work tomorrow so will have to plan a few escapes to comfy sofas in Borders.
p.s well done for your organised due date list - most impressive.

hana · 22/05/2004 19:02

oh, melliek has had a m/c, she posted on a different thread a while back

scubamum2b · 22/05/2004 21:09

I am still hanging in there - no sickness, breast are not that sore now, some day really tierd but again better than 3wks ago, but my belly is getting BIG - had friends at the weekend certain that there was more than one in there! To be honest I did not think I would be showing so much so soon - only baggy tops can be worn around those I don't yet want to tell.

I don't find out for another 9-11 weeks as they are tight on scans where I live

Hope all the other mums2b are keeping well

Jimjams · 22/05/2004 23:37

tight on scans here as well scuba..... You will get some info earlier though as you'll hear the heartbeat I expect.

My boobs aren't really sore, but I only stopped feeding ds2 on Friday (!) and they are just 2 empty sacks and so used to milk making I doubt they need to go all tingly iykwim!

lilymum · 23/05/2004 14:18

ginger29, me too with the nausea and the fainting. Managed to pass out in the bathroom while waiting for dd1 to finish on the loo. After I'd picked myself up off the floor, had to wipe her bottom before staggering off to find dh (fast asleep, bless him). Felt like insult to injury...

Nausea has been just awful, and the reason why I haven't posted in a while. Am throwing up a couple of times a day, and retching frequently. Am hardly eating a thing, have lost 4lbs in a week, and have ZERO energy. Poor dh having to juggle his work, caring for me and looking after the girls and the household. Am going to see my doctor on Thursday to check blood pressure and iron levels, but not expecting any miracles. Will give the preggie pops a go, and has anyone tried the Morning Well tape?

smellymelly · 23/05/2004 14:41

I have tried the morning well tape, it seems to work a bit, and it gives you something else to think about IYKWIM. Ginger capsules helped to, but you know what has really done the trick for me? - We stayed on our new (2nd hand) boat for the first time this year, at the weekend, (just for 24hrs) and I normally suffer from sea-sickness, but my nausea went away. Don't know why, maybe something to do with my inner-ear, and all that???

I was expecting it to come back on Mon morning, but I still feel ok. I have been sick a couple of times since, but I can cope with that.

Also, I am eating every 2 hours (so much for not wanting to put any weight on for my wedding!!) which helps keep up my blood sugar levels.

We are now intending to stay on the boat every weekend, just to keep me sane!!

If you are allowed to use floatation tanks while pregnant, I wonder if they could help at all??

lilymum · 23/05/2004 14:47

smellymelly, maybe the motion of the boat is contrary to the motion of morning sickness, or whatever, and they manage to cancel each other out! Perhaps I should go down to the river and rent a rowing boat for a couple or hours...

smellymelly · 23/05/2004 14:51

I would recommend it to everyone!!!!!!

hana · 23/05/2004 15:26

gosh, everyone sounds sick and tired!!
Had a scan this morning, puts me at 8+3, and so far so good. Was really quite anxious about it - but we had the news we wanted. Next scan is at 12 weeks, so a month to go. Seems such a long time away.....
I also have lost weight....trying to eat well and every few hours too. Found out I have a retroverted uterus (tilts back rather than straight up or forwards) WAs told it won't affect preg though, so that's good too.

smellymelly · 23/05/2004 15:29

Good news Hana, it is such a relief to see it on the screen, isn't it. My sis has a uterus like yours and had 2 great pregnancies, and deliveries.

Nimme · 23/05/2004 15:44

Hana - so glad to hear your scan went well - must have been great to see the cause of all "misery" and put your mind at rest.

And I thought I had it bad but sounds like you all have it much worse than me - commiserations.

I am now 11 weeks and sometimes feel like the nausea is coming to an end. I immediately stop eating constantly (cos I'm terrified of putting on 3 stone like last time and cos I'm stupid) only for the nausea to come back with a vengance. Sick or thick seems to be my choice...

Nimme · 23/05/2004 15:47

Ginger29 & Lilymum - poor you for fainting, hope you get through that phase soon.

Smellymelly - when are you getting married?

OP posts:
smellymelly · 23/05/2004 17:12

Nimme - I'm getting married in exactly 2 months from now!!!

Haven't got invitations out yet, or sorted out wedding list - aaaggghhh!!!

Toothache · 23/05/2004 17:27

Hana - Glad to hear everything was fine at the scan!

Hang in there you lot.... you all seem to be having a tough time of it! Just remember how quickly Christmas comes around, it'll be here in no time!

Smellymelly - You're a brave woman getting married whilst pregnant! I was close to killing someone (hubby-to-be or my Mother!!) when I was planning my wedding last year.... I definitely would've tipped over the edge had I been fuelled by pregnancy hormones too.

Don't worry about the invitations. I posted most of mine 4wks before the wedding.
