Very early days I know but would love to talk to others in same situation. This is no. 3 (no. 2 was a mere 1 week fantasy last year) so am keeping this one to myself (and all of you).

Anyone else?

Scubamum - are you okay?

ggglimpopo - you are mad absolutely and utterly! If I had felt like you I would be on my 4th as I had originally intended (she says wistfully). As it is I think we'll call it a day after this one. Can't wait to get back on the pill so I can get rid off the b.... spots.

Smellymelly - I'm now 16 weeks and have heaps more energy than 4 weeks ago. Also don't need to be stuffing myself constantly. Come your wedding I'm sure you'll feel great and your bump will be the perfect show-off size!

I also have been feeling the odd bit of flutters. I can't wait to get bigger (the bump ONLY that is) so that DD can feel the kicks.

Canadianmom - I'm so very sorry How heartbroken you must be.

PotPourri · 03/07/2004 17:09

Oh Canadianmom. I am really sorry to hear your news. It's heartbreaking and just not fair. Just can't find the words... You take care of yourself sweetie. You are in all our thoughts at this tough time.

fortnight · 06/07/2004 01:09

canadianmom,I'm so sorry.
I've had my scan, which went well. My edd is dec 6th,but as I was 10 and 8 days late respectively with my other I am adding on a week this time so I won't get too impatient. We've had a very busy few weeks here, moved to a new house and celebrated my 30th birthday! I'm still feeling a bit queasy, but hopefully that will go now that things are quietening down.

hana · 06/07/2004 12:21

Thank you all for your kind words. We opted for a 'medical termination' (basically induction of labour) based on the consultants recommendation, as I was carrying twins with the estimated gestational age of 14 weeks. I was given a tablet on Thursday evening and was admitted to hospital Saturday morning.
Babies were identical boys. So small and yet so perfect--10 long fingers and 10 toes each. Looked rather like our ds1... Very sad and frustrating as there does not seem to be a reason why this happens (third time for us). They ran every test going to find a logical explanation but I expect the results to all come back negative as they have in the past. I have an appt. with the consultant in the miscarriage clinic in 5 weeks to discuss the results and ask any questions we may have.

The midwives and the doctors were amazing and very kind. The hospital provides a memorial service and the option of burrial or cremation so far more closure than with an ERPC, I suppose.

The third stage took ages and I lost so much blood that I needed to have the placenta manually removed as there was no time to get to the theatre. Would not highly reccomend that part of the procedure--rather painful and very odd feeling.

Feeling physically week (as HB is low) but happy to be home. (Sent home Monday a.m.) I am so grateful to have three happy children to keep me busy. Not sure that I will have the courage to try again but it is still early days so who knows how I may feel in a few months. Thanks again for all of your support. (Sorry if I over-shared!)

scubamum2b · 06/07/2004 18:07

thanks for sharing your sad experience.

Whilst I don't like to read about women losing their babies - a kind of bury head in sand hoping it does not happen to me (sorry if that sounds selfish) - reading your words makes me even more appreciative of hearing my babys' heartbeat an hour ago.

my thoughts are with you

motherinferior · 06/07/2004 18:11

Canadianmom, I'm so sorry

Ronniebaby · 06/07/2004 23:58

Oh Canadianmom, so sorry to hear, thank you soo much for sharing, you didnt over share, we are all thinking of you and wish you well.

I can't imagine what you must have gone thru, and you feel sad and low, but as you say, may in time you will try again, you are blessed with 3 lovely children.

My heart & luv go out to you, you are a very strong person.

Jimjams · 07/07/2004 00:07

Oh Canadianmum what a horrible experience. The memorial service sounds lovely though.

I hope your 3 children don't keep you too busy iykwim and you get plenty of rest. Will be thinking of you.

lilymum · 10/07/2004 18:58

How is everyone? My nausea is still present, so I'm eating like a horse. I'm now 15 weeks and have reached the not quite fat enough for maternity tents stage, but am beginning to bulge rather. Probably cos I'm pigging on ice-cream and cake...

hana · 10/07/2004 19:16

Lilymum- awful that your nausea is still there....mine really eased off by 12/13 weeks. I'm wearing mat jeans at the moment cinced very tightly!
Been starting to think of names - loads of girls names but very few for boys. When dd was born we still hadn't decided upon a boys name - so really want one of each picked out this time around. She knows now about the baby -one morning in bed dh and I were talking and dd just said 'you have a baby in your tummy mummy' -said very matter of factly. We didnt' make a deal of it, she's not even 3 yet. But dh a few weeks ago told her that the stork brings babies in a big blanket - she'll have to sort all of that out I think!

Ronniebaby · 11/07/2004 01:17

Lilymum - I know the feeling I'm nearly 17 weeks and still occasionally get a wave of sickness.

Going to the Midwife on Thurs for AFP and hopefully heartbeat

hana · 11/07/2004 11:56

Ronniebaby - whats an AFP?

honeybunny · 11/07/2004 16:49

Just thinking about the maternity clothing option at almost 18weeks. Can still get into my Levis and some oversized Hobbs cropped linen cargos. Having thought I'd said goodbye to the nausea a little while ago, it came back again end of last week. YUK! Still havent put on any weight. And now my skin has gone all sensitive... dry itchy patches coming out on my face/eyes. Anyone recommend any nice beauty products for sensitive dry (normallyoily/combo skin) skins that are hypoallergenic?

Jimjams · 11/07/2004 20:16

Had 2nd antenatal appointment today. Thank god only one heartbeat heard (I am getting big and worried!) although the m/w did say she couldn't make any guarantees- she also said that she thought I had enough to cope with (I agree!)

AFP is a test for Down's and neural tube defects. I have one next Wednesday as well.

The baby kept kicking the doppler thingy. I told dh afterwards and he said "i've hardly thought about this baby". Neither have I. Poor thing.

Midwife said I probably have been feeling kicks as I am the right sort of size to be feeling them.

scubamum2b · 11/07/2004 20:51

Now heard the babys heartbeat 3 times
last time the baby was moving around so much that it was impossible to count the # of heartbeats. I also asked if I was bigger than normal, as I strated getting big early, she said no but could not rule out twins - only another 3 and a bit wks for (scan) confirmation.

Nearly 2 wks since first felt baby - just after England went out of Euro 2004, probably was a better kick that Beckhams penalty spot . Wasn't sure if it was baby, but given description, MW said it was

Ronniebaby · 12/07/2004 00:02

Scuba - tee hee, most of our babies could prob kick better than Becks.

Jimjams - I'm nearly 17 weeks and I've been feeling my bump (nicknamed Roo as in Kangeroo) since 15 weeks, it never stops moving. Ds wants to really feel Roo move as he's sooo excited.

Just in case you wondered DS was nickname Toad as he moved more that anything I know.

Honeybunny - You soo lucky, I'm in to loose clothes, no jeans and I aint getting maternity ones or one of those pieces for the front.

As there are over 270 posts shall we Start a new December thread??? Just a thought.

Ebs26 · 31/07/2008 15:00

Hi all,

Not sure if I'm in the correct and most up-to-date thread for 'due in December'??? Still a bit of a novice with this site!

I'm due 7th December and looking to chat to other mum-to-be as finding communication a lil difficult with my dh whose is at a complete loss re: my moods and tears lol.

I discovered on Monday that baby is a 'girl' and all looks well so far (knock wood). Pleased to say that I have finally started to feel baby move more so very happy about that

Congrats to all of you.

Canadianmum - so sorry to read what you had to go through. I hope that they can give you some well-needed answers.

abbymeg · 31/07/2008 15:31

Hi Ebs26 if you click on antenatal clubs rather than pregnancy in the mumsnet talk topics bit, there are all the threads there for people due in different months. I'm in December too. I would do a link, but I'm rubbish with anything of that nature!
