Selfish post ladies as I have not caught up on the new thread, but 20 week scan today and all is well! Wriggley baby made the job very difficult but eventually could see everything was as it should be. Can't believe that's it for scans now and half way through. Feeling on a high and very relaxed right now just so happy that everything appears to be okay.

DP stuck to his guns about not wanting to find out the sex and I stuck to mine that I really wanted too! So he left the room and I found out we are team pink! DP says I can tell people but I feel terrible others would know before him so it's my little secret (on here doesn't count!!) There will be lots of huffing from the Grandma's but tough! I guess it's a bit weird not being a team about it but we're both pleased that we each have what we wanted so now I just have to not blurt it out! Thankfully the blanket I want to buy is bright colour stripes so very unisex!!

I hope everyone else is well and those in the first tri are feeling positive today.

amicablemoomin · 22/05/2014 10:32

oooooh exciting baking! keep us posted! Either way it will be lovely to have your mum there.

London Congratulations!!!!! Wonderful news that all went well and that you are having a little lady! I would be really worried I'd let it slip to DP, you'll have to be very careful when talking about her now!

cuppa please let me know! hope it goes ok.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 10:43

Very exciting Baking! Grin That feels like an absolute age away for me.
Had my scan. Not as successful as I'd hoped, but not awful either. There's a sac there but measuring at 4-5 weeks. Which could be possible as I think I implanted late. Have to go back in 3 weeks. That's going to be the longest 3 weeks of my life!!

Congrats on the 20wk scan and the little wriggly pink one London!! Smile

Penguin13 · 22/05/2014 10:45

Eee exciting Baking. Good luck if it turns out to be labour. I guess with more than one under your belt you know the signs by now.

Congratulations Jen lovely news that all is well.

I have my 12 week scan in 4 hours!(But who's counting?) Feeling mostly positive but a lot bit scared.

amicablemoomin · 22/05/2014 11:07

Good luck penguin! thinking of you and glad you have some positive vibes. English how far along did you think you were? Implanted late could definitely explain, right?

Penguinita · 22/05/2014 11:12

Go baby baking!!! So excited for you! Keep us posted on developments if you can!

Good news on the scans jen and english, and best of luck for this afternoon penguin.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 11:14

Well I was estimating at between 5-6wks. Must. Stay. Positive!

Good luck penguin!!

amicablemoomin · 22/05/2014 11:31

definitely positive English - you are estimating 5 weeks and so are they!

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 22/05/2014 12:05

Hi ladies, lots of news since I last checked!
How exciting Baking! Looking forward to hearing updates. All the best for a straightforward labour.
Good news on the scan London and sorry you're still a bit up in the air after yours English. Try to stay positive, it sounds like late implantation would explain it, but I know the waiting is agonising!
Good luck for your scan today Penguin!

Squiz I was high risk, consultant led in my first pregnancy, but only saw the consultant about four times. Most of my routine appointments were with the community midwives. Worth checking in case there's been a mixup, but that might be the case for you too.

Ok, this might sound a bit mental, and a quick google hasn't thrown up anything, but does anyone think their toddlers might be able to smell their hormones or otherwise sense the pregnancy? My DS has been super cuddly the last two or three weeks. I put it down to him starting at nursery for a couple of mornings (he's confident and settled in straight away, but I thought maybe he just wanted a bit of extra closeness for reassurance), but I've noticed that other children we know are being more affectionate with me at the toddler groups we go to. I had two of them fighting over who would get cuddles at rhyme time last week and ended up being smothered by both. This morning a little boy I don't even know kept coming and sitting on my knee (which made DS very jealous!)
I've heard that cats can sense pregnancy and may be more affectionate, but does it work on toddlers too? Confused

Fishcake77 · 22/05/2014 12:28

Hi English, I am always reading this thread and dip my toes in occasionally! Just to say when I went to my first early scan I thought I was 6 -7 weeks and was told I was only 4 -5 weeks as they could only see a sac. I am now 35 weeks pregnant and everything has been fine - just ovulated a lot later then I had first thought. If I went on my LMP my due date would be 18/06 but it is actually 26/06.
To all of the other ladies, congratulations on all of your positive scans, Baking how exiting and keeping everything crossed for you!
I think I am ready to put myself on the "list" now, here's hoping my cutting and pasting skills are up to standard! (hmm)

Alb1 · 22/05/2014 12:29

Congras on the good scan news london I'd be worried id let the gender slip but it's kind of nice u get to keep a little secret with her for a while longer Smile

english shame the scan wasn't more definitive but it's deffiently positive! Shame u have to wait another 3 weeks tho!

Good luck with ur scan later penguin hope all goes well for you. And good luck baking very exciting! And atleast u have an extra pair of hands around for the weekend if it's a false alarm

Thank you fishcake! I think if I hadn't had the mc I'd be none the wiser and not really worrying, it's such a shame that mc takes all the innocence out of what should be a happy and exciting time. Going to try and relax and not think about it too much.

Penguin13 · 22/05/2014 12:59

Sorry your scan wasn't more conclusive English. I hope the wait passes as quickly as it possibly can.

Penguin13 · 22/05/2014 13:05

Penguin13 · 22/05/2014 15:37

Extremely happy to report that the 12 week scan went really well and everything was looking great. Our little penguin was bobbing about happily and I am measuring 12+3 so EDD has been brought forward to 01 Dec. Phew! Thanks for all your support ladies. So from now until due date all pg concerns melt away and you're just totally zen right? Hmm

Cuppachaplz · 22/05/2014 15:39

Congrats london
english they put my dates back at first scan. I was worried that it was the start of another mc, but scans since have tallied with the first, which is the most likely scenario for you too.

Feeling very emotional after booking in; I found it very hard going going over history / dates / gestational of 15 previous pregnancies, now very weepy and emotional. Trying to focus on the fact that I haven't got as far as booking in fir a long while now... I know it's good news, but feeling weepy and tired, trying to re-group before DS gets home from school, so wise words that will have the effect of a damn good shaking required please! (Sorry to moan about nothing much, I know people are having worse days)

Cuppachaplz · 22/05/2014 15:41

Yay! A Happy penguinlet, that's fab news

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 22/05/2014 15:59

Congratulations Penguin!

Emki · 22/05/2014 16:53

So exciting baking keep us posted!

QuietTiger · 22/05/2014 17:14

Scary stuff - I have my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow. I have got past the positive scan on Monday and am now back to fretting, so I have booked another reassurance scan for after the bank holiday, when I should be 9 1/2 weeks...

Talking to DH at lunchtime it seems that we are both utterly convinced something will go wrong. Someone give me a wet fish slap. I can't even get excited that I'm pregnant. Sad

CorporeSarnie · 22/05/2014 17:24

Grin for penguin and baking.
cuppa, I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be to detail all of that, you poor poor thing. Hope you have had a nice sit down with a cup of tea and a chance to regroup. Today you are pregnant.
quiet I know, I am still finding it hard to get excited at almost 17 weeks (and have ended up close to tears on telling a few people, which is confusing for them as hardly anyone knows the full history). I will reiterate today we are pregnant. Keep busy and try to remain as positive as you can.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 17:30

Thanks for the support ladies Smile

Penguin - so happy your scan when well and little pingu is happily bobbing about! Grin

Cuppa - sorry your feeling rubbish, I can't imagine how scary it must be after your history and having to go over every detail is traumatic. Have a nice relaxing evening.

Quiet - today you are pregnant!! But I think I'll be the same as you!! I've got another scan in 3 weeks but I think even then I'll book a private one for between then and the dating scan!!

Gwlondon · 22/05/2014 17:36

cuppachaplz you have been through a lot. Having to talk about all of it in one go is so hard. Be kind to yourself xx

Great to hear good scan news!!! penguin13 londonjen and englishgirlreturned.

Good luck bakingtins!

Interesting with regards to the natal hypnotherapy. I still use the Hypnobirthing relaxation cd when I can't sleep. Which is happening a lot.

Turns out I have a UTI. No symptoms as far as I can tell. Does anyone else have experience of them? This is my first one.

I had a good week apart from bursting into tears with a lady I don't know that well, we are friendly, she gave me a nice hug while I was blubbing. Next week is my 12 week scan. Unfortunately my DH won't be there (he booked a flight to take DS to his parents to give me a break) and I have asked my best friend to come. Really this is awful now. If it is bad news my poor friend will have to cope! I am meant to follow DH and DS if scan goes well if not stay at home. Anyway, upshot is I have told three friends because I think I need support. I can't just keep going without people knowing. Today I feel fine, but I know I am at the edge of coping. I can honestly say I am frightened.

Sorry for long post.

fedupofrainydays · 22/05/2014 17:36

Oooh baking exciting!!

And yay for good scan news penguin and london. Although how you will not start referring to 'her' is beyond me!! Good luck with that!! I would give it some sort of unisex name to refer to of you haven't already - then it's easier. We called our bump peter when i was expecting ds. No idea why and didn't know it was a boy! He's not called peter tho! A friend called theirs Oscar and it was a girl and my sisters first was baby Dave, also a girl!!

ihavetowait I have no idea but probably if you have suddenly become very properly. It's probably just oozing maternal vibes that draw kiddies in.

english hope the next 3 weeks go quickly but it's likely it was just a dates mix up. Same happened to my friend and it was all fine at the next scan.

Hope everyone else is well. Anomaly scan due here tomorrow. Starting to ramp up the nerves a bit. If only I could have a bottle or wine to calm myself! Wine
