Amun, I'm shocked someone says that, clearly they have never been through a m.c, to be fair, I used to have to endure some sort of comments from sil, however since she has been through m.c herself we've reached an uneasy truce, it's sad to say but she now understands my side of the fence.

My doctor is a nightmare yes, I'm waiting for my usual gp to call Friday she's much more sympathetic. But only works two days a week, Monday and Friday! I was reluctant to ring again for Tyne, as I have to ring the booking centre not the yen direct, which means here when I say I mpg they will cancels the apt. Which I've had to fight to get so I don't want to do that, but will talk through the gp ringing gone direct, and likewise also see if she will ring emu as well direct for early scans or can I self refer? She wrote to them in January but they replied saying they had seen me (hadn't) and got half of the information wrong! If not I'll pay for a private scan again as locally they do them for £65 but I know hubs will be frustrated again as it was the private one which showed the mmc at 8 weeks last time.

Metz, big congrats on little chimp, what have you called him?

Cuppa good luck for sat

Seaside, I did the anti and post natal not class, the anti natal was good I met ladies there all on their first I was second, but new area and 5 years apart, so wanted to do it to meet people we still have days out together with the babies (3 yo) the children love seeing each other we have Saturday coffee mornings, and likewise a monthly girls night out, they are my sensible grounded friends all settled and no drama, then I have my other friends the two don't really mix, as nct mummies are well, they're in a different place my other friends are all down to earth, and a bit roug and ready from school. The post natal class we often joke was £80 for five weeks of coffee mornings and none of us ate that many biscuits! We did all enjoy doing baby massage though at £15 a course, to be honest we've really stuck together, when we were on maternity leave we also did a block bulk baby swimming as well which was brilliant as we literally saw each other every day a week.

Big waves to everyone else thank you for welcoming me and hope you're all ok.

aMuminwaiting · 17/06/2014 07:12

Congratulations chimp!
It's doubly exciting when there's a new announcement because there's another baby in world who is going to be adored AND the rest of us get to move up the board a bit :D

Congratulations pg!

I'm having really painful cramps at the moment and it's scaring the life out of me. No bleeding and did another test yesterday that was a lovely dark line. I'm 5 weeks today, scan a week on Thursday!

Penguinita · 17/06/2014 08:55

Congrats pgchimp, lovely news! Hope you are not feeling too sore after the forceps. I had a ventouse delivery and afterwards it felt like a whole football team had been lining up to take turns at kicking me up the bum! Grin

Mrsgiblin1983 · 17/06/2014 09:11

Hi ladies, can I join in. I'm going out of my mind already. Had a bfp on Saturday after 2 mc 1 at 7weeks and 1 at 5.

I'm really trying to stay positive but it's so scary! In my first to pregnancies I had really full boobs already. I had Bach ache yesterday to not so bad today. Just want the next few weeks to fly by so I can get an early scan to hopefully see a flutter.

Did anyone else keep poas after bfp? Looking forward to feel more relaxed Hmm

Help me pls!!!

Ellisisland · 17/06/2014 09:42

Hi mrsgiblin welcome you will find plenty of support here.

I am 8 weeks and mc at 10 weeks in feb so going more crazy as I get closer to the 10 week point. I did get an early scan at 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat which reassured me for about a day! My next scan isn't until July so I have booked a private one near me. It's £60 which is a lot cheaper than some but I needed to do it just to stop me going any more out of my mind.

Have you registered with the midwifes yet ?

amicablemoomin · 17/06/2014 09:59

Hi guys!

Lots of newbies in the four days I have been away - welcome all!

Back after a long weekend with DH's family and still on a high from it. We told them our good news after our 12 week scan and they could not have been more thrilled for us, it was very special after waiting so long to get to this point.

Congratulations pg what lovely news! Enjoy every minute!

pg congratulations! Flowers

Welcome mrsgiblin and congratulations. You'll find plenty of us going out of our minds here so feel free to rant away Smile I'd say don't keep poas-ing though, I did last time and I was still testing positive even though I'd had an mmc so that really messed with my mind! Today you are pregnant! And if you think you'll feel reassured by an early scan then go for it, I've already had 3 scans as I've had several massive bleeds already (only just 9 wks) and I am glad I paid the money for the reassurance, even if only temporary.

For some reason I can't seem to copy and paste the stats so if some kind person could add me in next time they're updated that would be great. I'm worried I'm tempting fate by adding my stats, fish slap please!

Here goes, gulp:

Thanks amicable Smile

squizita · 17/06/2014 11:26

PG Congrats!! :) :) :) Well worth waiting for. I hope you are both being spoilt and looked after, sounds like you've earned your stripes as one of them there "birth warriors" with that one!

Amum there are a lot of young hipster type women who spout that who I know. No idea... until it happens to them. I think they're trying to be edgy. Interestingly a couple are also rabidly pro-life and talk about how 'easy' the procedure of abortion is, having no idea an ERPC or medical management hurts physically and emotionally.

G&T yeah as Amum says, ring your EPU. MW can be torturously slow on the phones!

David the progesterone thing may be because many UK clinics simply don't use it to maintain pregnancy - it's used in fertility to build up thin womb linings and start off the pregnancy IYSWIM, so in some cases is taken to prior to conception until about 12 weeks in but some won't prescribe after BFP. Some women have low progesterone and no issues, other high and miscarry. As I understand it the thickness of the lining is the thing they test at clinics not the pg in the blood. Is this what your GP meant? Have you had a scan to establish lining thickness?

Cake black blood is just old stuff surely? Thinking of you, try not to stress!

OP posts:
squizita · 17/06/2014 11:40

Drama I got cramps around then, try not to worry if there's no blood. I believe it's common.

Hi MrsGiblin yeah symptom spotting and taking loads of tests, we've all been there. :) Remember symptoms are different each time, the main thing is you are pregnant and feel OK, just get bleeding/bad pain checked out. :)

Had pregnancy yoga yesterday, was very good. They even had us upside down... and baby went nuts at that. Grin

LondonJen · 17/06/2014 12:13

Hi ladies

I am lurking, just so utterly exhausted and mum visiting this week so excuse the lack of individual response but just to say I am thinking of you all and welcome new faces, today you are pregnant Smile

Big congrats to pgchimp enjoy those cuddles with your little monkey!

I reach 24 weeks tomorrow, makes me happy in the milestones sense as viability is quite real now.

Mrsgiblin1983 · 17/06/2014 13:08

Thanks everyone for all the positive words. Really need to keep saying I am pregnant today and enjoy it. I need to only worry when I get bleeding. I hoping for 3 rd time lucky.

OhTheDrama hope the cramping stops soon and you get a fluttery bean next week.

aMuminwaiting · 17/06/2014 13:15

I'm on day two of two day bed rest, have nuchal tomorrow but they've already said they won't be scanning my cervical length because that's specialist (although they did do it there in my last pregnancy, too late though). I emailed RMC at St Mary's to get them to clarify they have been scanning my cervix and put my mind at rest but they just emailed back to say come in for another scan. No time, no date. I've been weighing it up and I think with the pressure I'm feeling, two trains and several tubes to the hospital is not the best idea. If I can't convince someone to just check my cervical length tomorrow then I think I'm going to pay for a private scan. They do it down the road from my parents house and will be a hell of a lot less stressful and more affordable than going to London.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 17/06/2014 13:25

amum ignore ignore the daily mail website. (That's where you mean with the green arrows I assume). And also all the nasty ones on facebook comments. The internet has the power to make people say the most bigotted things. And ignore your DH's work colleague too. squizita does the couple really believe an abortion decision is easy? I had one when I was young and it was a very very hard decision. I have never regretted the choice, but I don't believe any women ever make the decision lightly. I'm pro-choice (obviously), and I believe it's our decision to do the best for ourselves. It's no body's business to say we should stop trying (wrt the the comments on the mumsnet campaign), or we should carry on with an unwanted pregnancy through to birth. It's bloody hard work being pregnant! And I'm already one who doesn't suffer much from morning sickness. I still feel tired all the time in the second trimester (which supposedly is the best one). And I just never feel comfortable sitting down anymore. I'm also starting to struggle to reach my foot to do the buckle on my shoes.

Congrats pg, and welcome all the newbies. It's normal to feel jittery and anxious. Hopefully you can get some comfort here.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 17/06/2014 13:28

amum I can't believe they didn't take your concern about the weakened cervix seriously. I agree with the private scan, especially given it's not cheaper than going to London for you. Hopefully they can give you the reassurance you need. And good luck with your 12 week scan tomorrow. (I assume it's 12 weeks given it's the nuchal one)?

aMuminwaiting · 17/06/2014 13:36

Yes 12 weeks tomorrow. Thanks. Will see what happens tomorrow and go from there.

GandTnow · 17/06/2014 14:08

OK really stupid question Blush as I'm sure I should know the answer. I've just been on the Association of Early Pregnancy website and it has a list of all the EPUs in the area. Underneath each heading it says whether they take self referal or not. The one nearest to me doesn't, only GPs, causalty and MW. My question is can I just phone another in the area or does it have to be your nearest EPU? Would they say no because I don't live close enough?

aMuminwaiting · 17/06/2014 14:13

I've just asked my Aunt on Facebook who's a retired midwife (one of those elusive great ones) and will let you know what she says.

Mrsgiblin1983 · 17/06/2014 14:21

G&t just give them a ring my local one is really helpful.
