Hi all!

Just to let you know that baby Elanor arrived at 5.35pm on Tuesday 27th, weighing in at a hefty 6lb 1oz Smile

Home water birth plan changed when I got to 5cm and had to transfer to hospital due to raised blood pressure. But all is fine now and we are back home and she is gorgeous, me and mr penguin are besotted with her Grin

Will keep popping back to check how you are all doing! But thanks so much for your amazing support for the last nine months, you kept me sane through some really tough times. Keep being there for each other and you all deserve to have lovely snuggly babies soon x

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 29/05/2014 20:54

Fantastic news Penguinita! Congratulations Thanks

Cakebaker35 · 29/05/2014 21:00

Amazing news pengunita! Flowers x

EnglishGirlsReturned · 29/05/2014 21:30

Fab news Tea and Ihavetowait!! Grin

Curtains, I'm in the same boat. I thought I was at least 5+4, but scan show sac measuring 4-5 weeks. I'm having to wait too. 13 days to go. To make matter worse here, I had yet more dark brown/red blood. Stopped now thankfully. If only I could sleep for the next two weeks!!

Congratulations Penguinita, hope you, dh and baby Elanor settle quickly. Enjoy lots of squishy snuggles.

aMuminwaiting · 29/05/2014 21:56

Waiting is horrible. I asked my aunt (a midwife) if there was a safe way she could just knock me out until December! I am a nervous wreck today. Nothing wrong as far as I can tell but keep feeling like it's over (despite the constant sickness).
Congratulations on your penguin baby :D

squizita · 29/05/2014 22:03

Congrats Penguin :)

Tea good to hear. Wishing you the best!!!

English and Curtains hope the wait goes quickly with good news at the end.

Just been to ante natal class. Was a nice small group, which was good.

Great news and congratulations penguinita!!

And tea so pleased to hear your news too!

Cuppachaplz · 30/05/2014 10:44

tea fantastic news :) Had I been on yesterday, would gave posted that this us where I was 2 w should, heavy bleeding and feeling hopeless, but they saw HB and bleed from tear / haematoma next to sac.

I gave just returned from repeat scan. Baby now measuring 9w (was6+3 2 w ago, I think). Strong HB and waving limb buds at us. DH and I v tearful and emotional. I think he wanted to hug the doc, but glad he restrained himself since she still had the internal scanner head in at the time!
MW told us to 'start saving as it looks like thus one us sticking', whilst I am obv. Reluctant yo be that optimistic, tat us the most positive I gave ever heard EPU staff being :))))
Also haematoma almost totally gone. Back to work Monday, and ok to cycle, run etc again, if that is what I was doing before. What does everyone think here? Missing my normal routine, and don't want yo turn into a blob, but considering gradual return to normal as still obv. concerned...

curtains don't give up! Dates move a lot ( see above) and scan only accurate to a week each way in 1st 12 w. I gave now had 3 scans and shares been different by 5 or 6 days each time. FX for you.

mrsg sorry to hear you're feeling bad. Hugs Flowers

ditzy how awful. Hope DH on the mend and you feeling better soon. Good news re positive scan, see above re dates moving. Hugs.

Sorry for the essay, soo excited after a good scan. Sticky vibes to all x

Cuppachaplz · 30/05/2014 10:45

pgchimp · 30/05/2014 10:47

penguinita congratulations Grin Grin you have been there all through my pg being so supportive and I am so glad your lo has arrived safely.

congrats to all the others on scan news. I hope Mr tea is better today.

amicablemoomin · 30/05/2014 10:56

fabulous news cuppa!! What great news for you!

on the exercise.....I think you have to go with what feels right, within the bounds of the medical advice. Personally, I've only visited the gym a couple of times.....just haven't felt like I wanted to do much, so tired and sicky and just didn't appeal.....am slowly getting back into it, but I am taking it really easy and haven't gone back to any of my regular classes yet. If I make it to second tri I plan to get back to being quite active, but probably at a lesser bent than before - just go with what feels right is my thinking! I'm holding onto the fact that my metabolism is higher in the hope that I wont turn into a total blob (not sure how true that is, I seem to be eating carbs for England at the moment!).

Enjoy that wonderful post scan feeling!

squizita · 30/05/2014 10:59

Oh Cuppa you've brought a tear to a hormonal lady's eye! Take it easy if you're nervous, maybe gentle sports like swimming or walking? :) Very glad it went well for you!!!

I'm week 25. BLIMY!

Cuppa that is amazing amazing news. You have really been through the wringer and it was definitely time for you to hear some good news. Congratulations to both of you.

Seasides · 30/05/2014 11:31

Welcome to the world elanor penguin, how wonderful! Congratulations.

So pleased for good scan news too.

Sorry you've had more bleeding English, I hope that's the last of it.

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 30/05/2014 12:00

Fantastic news Cuppa so pleased for you Grin

I'm feeling a lot more positive after my scan yesterday, and I'm at a PC rather than on my phone for once, so I think it might be time to add myself to the stats. While I'm at it I've taken the liberty of adding baby Elanor, hope that's ok Penguinita

Sorry you've got a waiting game curtains fingers crossed for you & hugs.

Great news tea and fab they are seeing you again sooner rather than later.

MrsG please feel you can moan here! Better that than bottled up. I hope you had a good cry, it's not fair you've got so many things to contend with and I sympathise. I hope you feel a bit better after letting it out. Get thee a nice hot bubble bath and some r&r, I know it doesn't solve anything but I do believe it helps to be nice to yourself.

Wonderful news Ihave, you certainly are pregnant today!

Congrats Penguin!! Enjoy lovely snuggles. Very pretty name. Awww! Love when a thread baby makes an appearance Grin

Cuppa that is so fantastic!! I would say go how you feel is okay for you on exercise. Maybe start gently and work up if you feel you can/want to?

And Squiz 25 weeks! Congrats! You've come so far since I joined this thread. All this is making me well up!

Cuppachaplz · 30/05/2014 12:55

OneLittleToddleTerror · 30/05/2014 15:51

I'm so glad to hear all the good scan news, tearex and ihave. cuppa the MW is so sweat. I'd want to give her a hug!

cuppa you definitely can continue doing the same exercise as you did before. I cycled to work until week 37 and was fine as I was on a cycle path and knew there wouldn't be any cars on roads to test my balance. I also pushed the bike up the only slope there on my way to work. You just have to listen to your body. I'm commuting 2 hours a day this time so have been doing exercise videos instead. I hate being inactive.

curtains and english definitely don't give up yet. Early scans aren't very accurate with dates, and we hear plenty of stories of later scans finding heartbeats. english hopes the bleeding go away for you soon. It's worrying I know but lets hope it's something like a cyst or hernia.

penguinita another thread baby. Have some Cake and Thanks

My midwife called back and said kicking/flutters down the cervix is totally normal. As long as I'm not contracting. I'm feeling reassured, especially since it's not constant pressure and it's not painful. Just a bit of flutters. I know I wouldn't have worried if it's not with the two miscarriages I've gone through.

I also had my birth reflections meeting at the hospital earlier today. It's been really really helpful. There are many questions I had which they could answer from my notes. For example, I thought I just couldn't feel all my contractions. But the scan printouts they had showed I had very infrequent contractions instead, and that it's basically the same number I felt. All the printouts showed 1-2 contractions in 10min, over a 3 day period. In the notes, it said I felt them every 4-5 min during second stage labour, which is 2 in 10. (You aren't deemed to be in active labour, from a contractions pov, until 4 in 10, because most people won't be able to progress without contractions that frequent. However my last printout just before an internal find me at fully dilated was only 1 in 10).

Another thing is that I thought the really heavy I want to go to poo feeling is pushing. But the midwife told me it's just a back to back labour with the baby sitting on my back passage. And because my water went first, I didn't have cushioning of the water, and therefore it felt really heavy like a big poo stuck Hmm. She said it meant that I probably never actually have any urge to push.

For this birth, I wanted to go to the midwife led unit. Now I'm doubting I could actually push a baby out at all, and most likely I'll need an assisted delivery again. Given both the infrequent contractions and not feeling the urge of pushing, the odds really aren't with me, are they?

Sorry for the long post. Just needed to get this off my chest.
