TODAY WE ARE PREGNANT.

Having said at 10.30pm nothing was happening, baby Faith arrived 00.50am 2 weeks early, weighing 5lb3oz. Both fine, being kept in to keep an eye on her blood sugars.

Thanks for the welcome all. I've been in touch with the bereavement midwife I saw last time, she's set up consultant appointments for me and an early scan request.

I then stupidly carried two heavy bags home from the supermarket and am knackered and worried that I've done myself/baby some damage. Very much hoping not.

Well done baking and welcome Faith, what a beautiful name. How funny that you thought nothing was happening two hours before she was born though! Hope my labour goes like that. Hope that her blood sugars stabilise and they let you go home soon.

I've just been having cuddles with a 9 day old baby in the hope that it spurs Pingu to come out. And planning a nice hot curry tonight. It is still 4 days until my due date but I'm ready now!

Wonderful news baking, so glad you're both safe. Love the name too. Hope the birth was as straightforward as it was quick! And that you're let out with stable blood sugar soon.

curtains, I carry shopping bags regularly, did last night. Hadn't even occurred to me it might not be a good idea-I think healthy beans are stickier than that. Does anyone else know if it's not a good idea?

Sorry to spoil the merry mood of the moment with a selfish post.
Just had ante-natal clinic ring to book me on for clinic and my 12 scan, having just received the MWs notes from yesterday.
The woman who rang told me to cut out the cup of tea I have in the morning. She gave me no time to point out that its the one thing I can stomach before my HG meds (which I obviously need to swallow with something) and that my GP had actually advised me to drink whatever didn't make me feel ill. He was unconcerned that this was tea, and I did check.
Feel like I have done something awful now. Not fair, had worked so hard to see good sides and was feeling quite positive this morning.
Grrr.

cuppa I can't believe you were told to cut out one cup of tea! craziness! I've been told it's fine to have 2 cups a day so that's what I'm sticking with. Could try decaf but it doesn't taste the same to me, I'm sad enough to have conducted blind tastings!! Don't beat yourself up x

Cuppa - a cup of tea is fine, the amount of caffeine they advise restricting yourself to is much higher than this. I try to keep to one or two a day but I think cutting it all out altogether is pretty unnecessary. If it was they'd tell us not to eat chocolate either.
