Thanks firststar, you're my ray of sunshine! I seem to have partly solved the problem by buying a dress in the boden sale that should expand with me for a bit. And oh joy to wearing my fat jeans!

Great news about the blood tests Edie! And twins! Yikes and congratulations!! How fantastic!

Not posted for a bit...good to see everyone is doing well and keeping positive. 19+1 today and feeling more and more movements, but nothin on the outside yet much to DH dismay. Only worry occaisionally now, so hang in there ladies, it does get easier. Firstar, glad things are going well for you. According to my Lesley Regan book...chances of mc after 12 weeks are less than 1% so keep that thought in mind

Got my 20 week scan next Wednesday and am nervous as we haven't had any previous scans or testing for downs (I'm 37 and my risk by maternal age is 1 in about 180) want to hope that as I've had two mc, then I surely can't be that unlucky...we'll just have to wait and see.

Hello to all you newbies and I hope you find this thread a comfort. I certainly did in the early days. It's nice to know that you're not alone and talk over your fears with women who understand. I'm starting to feel like the grand-dame of this thread now!!

pinkranger · 15/01/2007 20:15

hi ladie s hope you are all well , not long now for some of you!

I have drove myself mad today thinking that something is wronge and you ladies on here are the only ones who know how im feeling. I am 8+5 and have had a bit of a rough week with sickness but today , nothing , also had a belly ache on and off and a bad back ache , im so glad that we have seen a heartbeat but feel i would have been in for a scan by now if not as thats how much im freeting , i have had to sign of my ante natal thread as it seems everytime i go on someone else has had a m/c and i feel like its waiting for me!
I have a scan next tuesday (10 weeks) but i just want to close my eyes and it be tomorrow. Did anyone else experince backpain and belly aches at this stage ( i have felt so postive before today )

pinkranger · 15/01/2007 20:58

Please someone calm me down xx

Uki · 15/01/2007 21:22

Pink-I'm the same, there have just been so many m/c on Aug thread. I too have had some lower back ache and tummy aches, could mostly be indigestion as everything is sqashing up, also had weird pains TMI at the top of vagina, sort of thing. I'm going to ask obstetrician on wed about that one. I'm not sure I'm helping but some reasurance that you are not alone. have a look at the ' 14 weeks and reduced symptoms thread' there is a few more of us, under 14 weeks too.

I can only hope I've had my share of m/c and that I'm to paranoid for it to happen, last pg I was more hopeful, but in retrospect had alot less symptoms.

When's your next scan/appoinment?

Daisy- ithink your ods are higher than that arn't they, I know plenty of women older than you even three x 42 year olds, that had healthy babies. so try not to worry.

Firstar-your 20 week scan will be amazing, i think i have mine in late march, but seems so far off, just want to get through this week.

pinkranger · 16/01/2007 09:16

hi uki , i have worried myself to the point of crying like a mad women last night, we have a private scanning clinic not far and i have booked myself into there this morning at 10.15 as i dont have a scan until next week and i think i will go insane waiting so fingers crossed!

God luck with your one on Wednesday xx

Uki · 16/01/2007 09:57

Pink-what were you so worried about the pains or just fear of m/c?

Probably the fact that you are so upset means you are hormonal too, and that's a good sign. I was also teary with worry two weeks ago.

At the moment, i have massive stomach pain, just swallowed some mylanta tablets, it doesn't feel like baby type pains so hope i'm ok.

anyone else had indigestion? oh does it hurt.

time4tea · 16/01/2007 10:08

Pink, I hope your scan went well. I felt sad to have not been logging on so much, it sounded like you had a very tough day yesterday, I know how sometimes just a message can calm you down.

If its any consolation, we had lots of discussion on the thread a few months ago and symptoms/lack of symptoms and there were no real indicators - so just follow your instincts as you have and get checked out.

Where do I find the antenatal thread for Feb? I seem to be grand old bird of this thread, and there were a few ladies at the same stage who have already chilled out and not posted on here for a while.

Hang on in there - I had my 34 week appt with midwife yesterday, the first one who was in any way understanding/actively sympathetic about the difficulties we have feeling normal about pg after mc. Baby Tea seems to be doing well, although like older brother is resolutely in breech.

take care all and have a good day

Pinkranger...lots of hugs coming your way and I hope things are OK with the scan. It's such a difficult time. I've got my fingers crossed for you. xxx

Daisybump · 16/01/2007 14:07

Thanks UKI for your words of encouragement. My SIL was 42 when she had her DD. Bloods came back 1 in 35, but amnio showed everything fine. The difficulty for me, and the reason I chose not to have any testing, is that after 2 mc, nothing will affect how I feel about this pg or make me consider whether or not to continue with it (especially not at this stage). It doesn't however stop that little nagging 'what if' at the back of my mind. Still, I'll know next week if they pick up any markers on my 20wk scan. Although I know that it's not conclusive as markers don't necessarily mean anything and also a certain percantage of DS babies don't have any structural markers. Chances are all will be fine, so that's what I'm trying to cling on to. I think that basically, now that the worry of mc has passed, I've got to find something else to fret about. I don't think I'll be truly settled until the bean is comfortably wrapped up in my arms.

pinkranger · 16/01/2007 14:14

hi ladies, thank you for all your support!

Scan went well, saw baby, and saw and heard the heartbeat, 166 bpm dont know why i got myself in such a state, i think that it was all combinding with our very depressing 'Due in August" thread (which im staying well away from at the moment) and bad back with stomach pains. They have put my dates back to 8+2 instead of 8+6 which even though it is only a couple of days may make alot of diffence as i know you can get streching pains at around 8 weeks! and period would have been due around about now!

Just got to trt and keep calm for the next 2 weeks as ive got a scan there at 10+2 to do bloods for the DS test as they dont do it here on nhs until really late!

Hope everone else is well - you are all great xxx

Juicylucytoo · 16/01/2007 14:27

Sorry I've not been on much.

Pink - glad the scan went well. I know what you're going though. I was like that all the way through the first 12 weeks. In fact I'm only just starting to believe it might actually be ok. I had my 20wk scan today and all is looking ok.
My symptoms came and went throughout the first 12 weeks. Some days extremely tired, sore boobs, aches and pains. Other days nothing.
Uki - I get the groin pains. I think it might be related to SPD, but I'm not sure as my pains are not agonising, just unpleasant. But I do think they're normal. I also get stabby pains, which I believe are round ligament pains, but don't quote me.

Love to all you paranoid post m/c'ers from the other one.
I

Hi Firstar. Not doing too bad, except for headaches, which are literally doing my head in.

It's a bit wierd that yesterday was the last scan. It seems too soon to stop checking IYSWIM. Your 20wk scan will be here in no time atall, honest. The time seems to have flown (not that I haven't been paranoid for 85% of it!). You can now look forward to weird stomach pains. Sometimes stretchy, but mostly stabby (really hating them, as I panic instantly). They are normal. The doppler is cool though. It's been a Godsend for my worst moments.

I hadn't bought ANYTHING for the baby in case the 20wk scan didn't go well. So yesterday I had a splurge on ebay for cloth nappies. I think it was just to confirm to myself that I might really be going all the way this time and having a baby.

Now desperate to feel the baby kicking, so I know he's ok. Must admit to giving him the odd poke to try and wake him up, but hasn't worked yet!

Ranted enough.

pinkranger · 17/01/2007 12:17

hope it ok uki

Juicy...only just realised its you from the June thread....what a nana! I'm starting to feel more relaxed too and thinking this one might just be a goer! No doubt I'll feel much better after next weeks scan. How many mc, if you don't mind me asking?

Daisybump · 17/01/2007 13:57

firstar...it feels like junior is bouncing up and down on my cervix a lot of the time, which causes the odd twinge. Also getting really sharp ligament pains, esp on the lower right hand side. If I don't brace myself before I cough or sneeze it's agony, but only for a second or two. If I jump up too quickly or roll over in bed without thinking it through first it can twinge as well. Doc says nothing to worry about! I sneezed in the car in rush hour the other day, which is scary at the best of times, but add in the sharp pain, and I thought I was going to drive into the back of the car in front!!
Headaches probably caused by your tubes swelling up and being stuffy. I had them quite a lot and felt like I had sinusitis, but thankfully they've passed now. ~They could also be due to high blood pressure, so best to get it checked out.
