stac14,

Don't no why my doctor has told me only to take it on day 2 of my perio (strange) I am taking my first round in about 10 days, it is very daunting, I have read do many stories about people falling pregnant straight away and just really worried it won't happen to me, iv already been trying for nearly 7 months, x x

stac14 · 08/01/2009 17:23

hi valz, thats great I will go ahead and start, did you have many side effects? The progesterone has made me quite moody, my poor partner is hoping it will ease up lol and congrats on the pregnancy xxx

stac14 · 08/01/2009 17:42

hi claire001, we have been trying since April, didnt even know I had polycystic ovaries until I came off the pill, it was a surprise cos I have a 9 year old and just presumed it would be easy this time too, it's nice to see so many positive stories on this that have given me hope but like you i am worried it wont work. Have you seen the fertility doc yet? xxx

claire001 · 08/01/2009 17:50

hi stac,

Yeah I have seen her a couple of times,I have got pcos and endometrosis and a hart shaped womb,so lots of things against me.x

stac14 · 08/01/2009 17:55

hi claire, i'm sure it will be fine and we will get what we want in the end but its so stressfull, have you been using this site long, I came across it today while looking for info on clomid, its hard to talk to people who dont know what your going through isn't it? x

claire001 · 08/01/2009 18:27

hi stac,

I only started using it today as well, yeah it is really hard, loads of people say don't worry it will happen 1 day (so annoying) and it will happen when its ment to, I find it really hard when people tell me that they are pregnant and haven't even been trying! Have they removed any of your cysts or not? X x

stac14 · 08/01/2009 18:43

Hi Claire, they have said that I have unripened follicles but my ovaries are normal size, I dont know what they are talking about the GP seems to know less than I do lol. He said something about getting my ovaries lanced but I am hoping I dont have to do that. I know what you mean about people who haven't been trying seems as if everyone round about us is managing to get pregnant and I cant, so stressful xx

claire001 · 08/01/2009 18:52

stac,

I had a laparoscopy done and they removed my cysts and burnt off the emdemetrosis at the same time, it was fine and I was out of hospital the same day, x

stac14 · 08/01/2009 22:19

claire, keep in touch and let me know how you get on xx

claire001 · 09/01/2009 09:28

hi stac,

Just need a bit od advice, last night and this morning i have had bad pains in my stomach, like cramping and sharp pains if i more suddenly,i have never ovulated befor and just wondering if these pains are normal? xx

claire001 · 09/01/2009 09:59

Hi All,

If anyone can help with my question it would be much appreciated.x

valz · 09/01/2009 10:13

hi stac i didnt seem to have any side affects whilst taking the clomid. my doc said to count the first pill day as cycle day 1. on cd 14 about 9 days after my last pill i took cramps in my lower stomach, kind of like period pains, they lasted a few days so i posted a thread on here to see had anyone else got these, some reckoned it may have been ovulation cramps, (my doc said i should ovulate anytime between cd10-cd15) and some reckoned it may have been implantation cramps which takes place around 7-10days after ovulation. so i can only assume now it was ovulation cramps as they fit the dates better. i have read some people took hot flushes and were moody so i think it affects everyone differently.

Claire everyones doc seems to give different advice, it depends on your situation too, some people take clomid with no bleed, some start on cd2 and some on cd5.

i think i hit it lucky falling pregnant first time with clomid, most stories i read it takes a few cycles so i had myself prepared. i did look up ways to increase the chances though, you may know them already but i'll tell yas anyway. positions doggy or missionary him on top seem to be more productive...sorry to be blunt. afterwards i always lay for 1/2 hr without moving with my pelvis propped on a pillow...this seemly helps. hope it works for you ladies, keep posting so we know how your getting on.

claire001 · 09/01/2009 10:36

Hi Valz,

Ha you made me laugh out loud then. now people in the office are looking at me as if i have gone mad! i also lay down after but only for about 10 mins so i think i will increase it. xx

stac14 · 09/01/2009 14:02

Hi valz
pmsl, at least your honest!! i take the first clomid tonight as I read on this that it can help reduce the side effects, think the only reason the doc gave me the progesterone was to clear the pipes so to speak as I havent had a bleed since april 08 when I stopped the pill.

At least reading the thread is making us laugh, thanks xxx

stac14 · 09/01/2009 14:06

Sorry claire, just read your thread, I used to get pains like this in the middle of the month when I was on the pill and it is normal to have these pains when ovulating, i also read on this that using the clear blue ovulation testing sticks to check, maybe they will help, there is some info in the web about cervical mucus when ovulating, goodness so much info, fingers crossed for you xxxx

claire001 · 13/01/2009 11:34

Hi All,

How is everyone getting on? xxx

stac14 · 13/01/2009 23:02

Hi Claire
I'm good thanks, started the clomid, last tablet tonight, side effects not too bad, like bad pmt and some hot flushes, just need to wait for my blood test to see if it works. How are you? Did the pains settle down? xx

claire001 · 14/01/2009 10:28

Hi stac,

I bet your really excited to have started it! im ok at the moment im still getting twinges in my stomach which is strange and really saw nipples. sorry to be gross. im going in to hospital on friday for my hsg! im dreading it,Have you had it done? xx

stac14 · 14/01/2009 11:23

Hi Claire
What is a HSG? I am glad to have started and also glad to have the first round out of the way. Started bleeding yesterday which has made me confused as I am now unsure when I will ovulate and the cramps are so bad, soz to moan
did you get the ovulation predictor kit to see if you are ovulating?
Hope your well xx

valz · 14/01/2009 12:09

Hi Stac

I think you should phone your doc to see what may have caused you to bleed, if your last pill was last night it is way too early for a period, was it only spotting or more like a period?

claire001 · 14/01/2009 12:13

Hi stac,

it's where you have your womb and tubes flodded with dye to see if there are any blockages, you started bleeding yesterday? do you not have to take it on the 2nd day of your period?

stac14 · 14/01/2009 13:13

Hey all
Doc gave me progesterone to induce a period, that I took for 10 days, it finished on Thursday, my GP advised me to start the clomid on the Friday which I did, so the progesterone has caused the period which is why I am confused as to when I am supposed to be ovulating, his advice also goes against everything I have read about clomid so I have a feeling it defo wont be working this time
XXX

stac14 · 14/01/2009 13:15

p.s I havent had the dye at all, my gp prescribed the clomid havent got the gynecologist till 9th feb
Do you think the GP's advice was wrong I am seeing him at 5.30 today XXX

starmouse · 14/01/2009 13:21

Hi everyone,
I am 42 years old and had blocked tubes. Just started taking clomid 100grams. Anyone else my kind of age and been successful on clomid? Also anyone had bad nightmares as a side effect?

claire001 · 14/01/2009 13:24

Hey,

It does sound like he is a bit confussed, I only take the advice of my consultant, my gp is male and about 65 so i dont think he fully understands.he reminds me a bit of a nutty proffesor,My consultant is really good,If i were you i would go to the gp tonight with a pad and pen and write everything down that he sais and just ask him to fully explain what he means,Thats what i always do, its so easy to forget all the things you are being told. You never no it might work for you this month and you could get your BFP. heres hoping,

Log on after your appointment and let me no what was said.xxxxxxxxx
