I have had the orlistat since August, you can buy it now from the chemist its called alli, but thats not as strong as the dose I have. It has really helped I was huge still have a good bit to go so going to keep it up.
I doubt I will get bfp this month but just to know my ovaries managed to work is enough for now lol

I tried to conceive for over two years (have PCOS and one of symptoms I had was no periods at all). I was given one drug (can't remember its name)to make me bleed, then started my first tablet of clomid. In the ten days after taking it we had more sex than we've ever had since then a couple of weeks after that I had a slight bleed and was convinced it was more disappointment. A couple of days later I was due to have a laproscopy to investigate my tubes and for some reason the night before I decided to do a preg test. I honestly fell to my knees when the two pink lines showed up!! I was told the slight bleeding was just implantation bleeding and my gorgeous girl is now four. Her sister was conceived with only the assistance of a few glasses of wine!!
Keep the faith!! Stay positive and get busy!!
It works, it works, it works. GOOD LUCK

stac, I didn't realise that Orlistat = Xenical. I've had that before (years ago) and couldn't cope very well with the side effects. My doc suggested it again recently. Well, actually, she said, "I don't really want to prescribe you Xenical." ...And I said I don't want to take it! lol. I'm really glad it's working for you. x

claire001 · 08/05/2009 10:29

Hi Ladies, I am spotting so not sure if its AF or implant bleed. Reading your story poppy has me wondering now lol

Clwc Its just training your body to avoid the fatty foods then you dont get the dodgy side effects lol

Hey claire I am so happy it seems to have taken so long even though I am spotting now or if I have af I'm just glad I managed to ovualte, the doc phoned personally to tell me saying he knew I would want to know lol. Orlistat is a tablet to help you loose weight it works by stopping your body absorbing the fat from food, the side effects can be pretty dire as you can imagine but they have worked for me in the past 8 months. How are you? Hope your keeping your chin up chick xxx

stac14 · 08/05/2009 13:13

Hey ladies, its defo AF, how can you go from being so happy to feeling so low, ttc is the worst. I'm away for some pain killers cramps have kicked in xxx

claire001 · 08/05/2009 13:16

Hey Stac

Im alright, Think i had a couple of ovulation pains last night but not very much today so i should hopefully be ovulating over the weekend (fingers crossed)

Its so exciting when you find out you have ovulated for the first time isnt it, Are you going to do a test? Last month was the first time i ovulated and all i kept doing was testing even before i was actually due on!!!! but just couldnt stop myself,

Maybe you will be the next success story we all desperatly want. I no its not going to happen to me this month but i dont think that is such a bad thing coz everything is so up in the air at the moment with not having anywhere to move to, Me and my partner have decided to stay where we are for a while now probably till feb/march time so we can save up for a deposit for a mortgage.XX

stac14 · 08/05/2009 14:02

Hey claire Think I have came on early but i've had a cry and sorted myself out, if it is af then back on clomid tomorrow.
Where are you living now? Probably better to give yourselves some time to get a deposit sorted xxx

Hey Stac

We both live with my mum at the moment which we both like but we just really want to get our own place,I put my name on the council list today but it will take so long to somewhere. X

stac14 · 08/05/2009 16:00

Hi Claire
It's getting beyond a joke trying to get a house, you have to be being made homeless here before they will even consider giving you a house. My sis got one quick cos she got threw out the house lol. I have had my own house since I was 18 so its pretty boring for me now lol. Do you hope to stay near your mum? xxx

claire001 · 08/05/2009 16:20

Hey Stac

Yeah i want to stay really close its been just me and my mum living together for the past 13 years untill my boyfriend moved in 3 and half years ago so i could never move away from her,Were thinking of telling the council that she has kicked me out and i have no where else to go so hopefully that might quicken things up a bit. XX

stac14 · 08/05/2009 19:43

Hi Claire
Thats probably the best thing you can do what with the way things are, may make it move on quicker. My sister told them she was sleeping on friends and families sofas and had nowhere to go. Its worth a try xxx

Clwc · 09/05/2009 20:43

Hello everyone,

I went to see a different GP at my surgery yesterday morning, armed with a noted bit of paper so that I wouldn't forget anything.

  1. My other GP shouldn't have prescribed Clomid as they aren't capable of monitoring me properly. I was asked not to take the next round: I wasn't going to anyway.
  1. Metformin should also be prescribed by a secondary care-giver (i.e. Gynae clinic).
  1. I should contact the clinic to see what happened to my return appointment.
  1. My thyroid levels should be re-checked and the dose of Levothyroxine altered to correspond (I stopped taking it because I was getting tummy problems in the morning, anxiousness, and my heart was pounding out of my chest - all signs that the dose was too high).

So, I contacted the clinic. I was there in July '08 and was due another appointment 6 months on. The secretary said she'd try to hurry things along. Then I phoned the bookings people. My appointment won't be until July 3rd!!! The cons is not a nice woman though, so I can wait.

I also contacted the NHS helpline because I'm getting concerned about the inter-menstrual bleeding I've been having. As it's a side effect of Clomid, I shouldn't worry unless I start feeling much worse.

To top everything else off, I seem to have a proper infection of some kind, with headaches, tiredness, swollen glands and some kind of thrush This is when OH and I should be BDing like there's no tomorrow!

FFYC! FFYC! FFYC!

stac14 · 10/05/2009 18:14

Hi ladies, how are you all?

Clwc Seems a long time to have to wait for an appointment, are they going to try giving you a cancelation?

I have a quick question for you all. As you know AF came on Friday nothing heavy but from last night I have had no bleeding at all, have any of you had this and what did you do about the clomid? I haven't taken mine yet as AF isn't properly here. I'm a bit concerned as it has arrived early too.

Hope your all well xxxx

thenewsmoo · 10/05/2009 19:06

HI ladies

AF came today....so Im back to CD1 and going to doc 2moro to see how to proceed as hve officillay cme to the end of my 6 mths on clomid...

Stac14, I would continue with clomid if ur sure it's AF. If not, see a doc asap. Good luck.

Clwc- love to u, sounds awful. The waits between appts r bad enough bt even worse when ther's a c* up...try to go to clinic and speak to someone face 2 face and make a plea to bring appt 4ward. Good luck.

thenewsmoo · 10/05/2009 19:16

Has anyone ever taken clomid for more than 6 mths? Any success?

claire001 · 10/05/2009 20:49

hey stac,

When I came on last month It was so heavy for the first day I had to change tampax every 2 hours and then on day 2 it just stopped and was nothing really for the rest of it,

Hey thenessmoo, if got pcos and my consultant said that I can stay on it for 1 year

XXXX

Clwc · 11/05/2009 00:19

stac - No. I think I have 2 hopes of getting a cancellation. I doubt that the people who go to my clinic ever cancel. Appointments are like gold dust. More's the pity.

I had similar problems with bizarre bleeding when I took the last cycle. That's why I was really unsure about taking it. As inter-menstrual bleeding is a side effect, how are you supposed to know when you really do come on? I think I just started taking mine on the 3rd or 4th day of bleeding, even though it was light to non-existent.

Hi moo. Sorry to hear about AF. I won't try to rush the clinic any more. It should give my body enough time to recover from taking Clomid, then perhaps I can speak to the witch gynaecologist with a clear head. Maybe, if I'm stupendously lucky, I'll be pg by then anyway, and I can go in and flip the birdie at the lot of them

Dream on........

stac14 · 11/05/2009 12:42

Hi clwc
I know what you mean, I had a similar problem when I first started in that the gynaecologist lost my referal from my GP so started clomid before I went to see him.
I have got a bit heavier today (on CD4) so I will start clomid tonight. I have heard of lots of women taking it different days so I dont suppose a different will make much difference.

HiClaire I wasnt heavy at all then it stopped so I was worried it was an implant bleed, but now I know its defo AF I will start clomid this evening.

Hey moo sorry to hear AF got you too, its so disheartening. Hope your ok xxx
