Good evening everyone.

Well, what a strange day... AF came with all of her wordly belongings again today I mean, heavy. I don't know what's going on. 2 glasses of red later, and I'm not dwelling on it as much, but it's still weird considering yesterday there was nothing. It happened a bit like this in March/April though. Odd.

Anyway, an update:

Thank-you so very, very much, mamof5
Yours is an encouraging story.

I'm hoping for 6DC, but my OH almost had a heart attack when I told him. Hehe. Just one child would make me happier than ever before.

Are you Welsh too, mam?

PS The Clomid is keeping me awake this month

claire001 · 03/05/2009 10:10

hi girls,

How is everyone? Doing anything nice for the bank holiday? X

stac14 · 03/05/2009 13:30

Hi ladies
How are you? Had my best friends up last night so managed to relax for a while. I am shattered today. Going to my mother in laws for dinner and hopefully have a day at the park or something tomorrow if it s nice. What you all up to?

Clwc Nightmare about Af, have you finished your clomid?

Clwc · 03/05/2009 13:40

Hiya Claire,

We don't have anything out of the ordinary planned. We're of to my Mum's for a late dinner, and at some point we need to fit in a new baby visit. Other than that, it's chores, chores and more chores

Hi stac,

I'll be taking the 5th tablet tonight. I remember you said yours was light for ages, then came properly after a few days, so perhaps this isn't as abnormal as I first thought, even if I did have a couple of dry days in the middle.

I have a weird bruise-like pain where my left leg meets my tummy. Only when I press there. Any ideas?? It's probably nothing.

HI all

This is my first post on this site. It's so good to hear all the success stories and feel the positive vibes women are sending to each other! I am 36 with no history of pregnancy and have been ttc for 18 mths. My husband has low motility but has increased it to a nearly 'normal' level now through taking various vitamins(after consultant said there was nothing he could do to change it..)

I have been taking clomid for 6 mths now(this is my 6th) so really hoping we're successful this mth otherwise it's back to consultant... I had bn feeling really low and pessimistic and so decided to try acupuncture and hypnotherapy. The hypnosis has made me feel much more positive and we're back to lookin on the bright side!

Sending all women ttc lots of positive vibes

stac14 · 03/05/2009 20:48

Hi thenewsmoo Welcome to the thread feel free to let us know your cycle day for the list its just a nice way to see where everyone is in the month. Its amazing how making a few changes can help with ttc but its so hard xx

Hi Clwc I had pains there through the week I am presuming it was ovulation pains or at least I hope it is lol I'm not good with people having babies at the moment even though I know its selfish but we just want one that badly xx

How are the rest of you girls? We have had lovely day, got spoiled by mother in law and had a great laugh hoping it will be a good day tomorrow so we can do something.

XXX

Clwc · 03/05/2009 21:52

Hello moo. Welcome Why were you put on Clomid? Do you have PCOS?

Glad to hear you had a nice day, stac. We went for a bike ride earlier because we need to get fitter and/or thinner (OH is relatively thin, but not very fit! lol). It was a lovely day for a bike ride. Then we went for a late Sunday dinner. We won't be visiting the new baby (1 week old) this weekend, as the mother lost a lot of blood during her C-section and is taking a little while to recover. Perhaps the little bruisy pain is just a tiny bit of ovary swelling, like when you're poorly and your glands swell.

I have to take my last tablet now...

Hi All

I still not got my period im going to see my doctor on friday to see if they will let me have the provera, it worked the last time i had it i had to have it for my hsg test. Is true if you have low hormone levels and pcos you dont get accurate results from a pt?

Carly

Clwc · 06/05/2009 12:56

Hello Carly,

I started a thread on that subject: here

It seems very likely that a blood test (Beta hCG) is your best bet if you have PCOS.

I'm hoping to get down to the doc's on Friday too. I have to phone at 8am to get an appointment. Grr. xx

Clwc · 06/05/2009 13:08

Hiya Stac,

I'm feeling low too. I'm not really sure why. Can't believe I'm on CD11 already. Time flies when you take no notice of it, eh?

I've been reading about metformin. I want some. I think my blood sugar was too normal when it was tested last year, but it seems like met could be the answer to my prayers. It also helps with hCG levels, therefore helping to prevent mc during the first trimester. I'll see what the doc says when I see her.

I've also decided not to take the next 5 Clomid tabs (cycle 3), due to the lack of monitoring, and the weird side-effects. Like I said before, if I'm meant to get a BFP one day, I will.

Sorry if I've depressed anyone. Misery loves company

xx

claire001 · 06/05/2009 16:51

hi girls,

Well i had more bad news today the sale on our house has fallen through so we have to look for somewhere else now (sad) when will things ever start to go right!!!!!!!!!

Iv got a feeling that this month wont be my month either, you no how you just get those feelings,

Well it seems that everyone is feeling low at the moment, We need some good news to cheer us all up! XX

stac14 · 06/05/2009 17:01

Hey claire
Thats rotten about the house, you will probably get something much nicer (although its a pain just now)

Hi Clwc Think we are all feeling the same at the moment. I have read about metformin also but as far as I know its usually the consultant that prescribes it. I have normal blood sugar too but I think met would give my body a kick up the ass lol so if I dont ov this month I am going to ask my consultant about it. Its also meant to be great for losing weight which I could defo be doing with lol

Hey carly Whens your other half to do his specimen test again? Its been a nightmare in my partners work at the mo and hes finding it hard to get time off, consultants not too bothered as he already has a son but I'm worried as that was about 12 years ago lol

Does anyone have some good news today? My DP is definately not being made redundant so thats one less thing to worry about. Think I am fed up cos everywhere I look I see babies and pregnant women lol xxxx

rugama · 06/05/2009 17:34

Well, I went on tuesday to my ULTRASOUND and my follicles haven't grown much from saturdays appt.

I have another appt on friday.

Not having a great week

stac14 · 07/05/2009 13:23

Hi rugma think we're all down in the dumps at the moment, let us know how you get on at the consultant. xxx

Has anyone cheered up today? How are you all? The suns is out so I feel a bit better but I have a pain in my left ovary region which i'm not sure what it is, its not agony just niggly. xxx

claire001 · 07/05/2009 13:57

Hey Stac

Are you ment to be ovulating now? X

sparklycheerymummy · 07/05/2009 15:08

my friend was on it and got pregnant really quickly after trying for years....xx

stac14 · 07/05/2009 16:35

Hi claire I am on day 22 so think I should have ov'd already if I have, had some bad pains last week so I presumed that was me ovulating but I may be later this month as af was 12 days long lol. How are you?

Thanks for the success story sparkle xx

Clwc · 07/05/2009 17:26

Thanks sparkly Always good to hear.

Well, I went to see a dietician today. We went through my average eating habits (which aren't that great, I must admit), she suggested I get my thyroid bloods checked again, and she also agreed that Met could be a good idea. I've been reading www.askapatient.com for all of the meds I'm on or have been on recently. It gives you a good insight of the pros and cons. It seems that PCOS patients get a better response than diabetics, even though Met isn't licensed for PCOS. Weird.

Oh, and I've also been out and spent an absolute fortune on 'healthy' food. It's a sin how expensive non-junk food is!

Good evening ladies, I just wanted to share my news that I have managed to ovulate this month the doc phoned to tell me, unfortunately it was dp who took the call so I dont know my levels but I am just so chuffed as this is the first time on the clomid that I have ov'd so I am officially on 2ww, so happy!!!

Clwc I got some leaflets from verity regarding pcos diet and exercise so may be worthwhile contacting them. I dont buy the healthy options just avoid the obvious bad stuff. My doc also prescribed orlistat which has helped me loose 2st and I'm still going. Theres also diets online which are suggested, I just dont have the patience lol like the low GI. We could add a weekly weigh in on here to try to encourage each other xxx

Clwc · 07/05/2009 20:19

2st!! That's brilliant! How long has it been since you started the Orlistat?

I don't have the patience for 'diets' either. I won't find it too difficult to swap bleached food for wholemeal, and reduce my sweets/choc intake by eating raw carrots and/or fruit. But I do think I'll need some medical assistance.

Well done for your CD21 result That's great. Let's hope you start getting funny food cravings, etc soon xx
