Hi

Not sure if this has been done before but am due to start clomid next month and could do with some happy stories. Please let me know why you were prescribed it and how long it took to get pregnant.

I know i am in the wrong thread but didn't get a response on ttc thread. As hopefully you are all here.

Many thanks

Hi Stac14,

They changed my nurse because mine change to another clinic and was assigned a new nurse where i go.

So far letrozole has been better.

My doctor decided to try letrozole after clomid if clomid didn't work.

I was on clomid 200mg for 6month and did hcg trigger and nothing ever happened the med was working but didn't get prego. i had good size follicles.

and she said I already had gone past the amount of times to try on clomid so we decided on letrozole as the next option and if this didn't work i decided on ovarian drilling....

Clwc · 28/04/2009 00:24

I really hope you get better luck with the letrozole, rugama. I've also read (on soulcysters.com) about someone having success with Pergonal (injection). I hadn't heard of it before then, but now I discover there are loads of different fertility drugs:

? Clomifene
Brand names: Clomiphene, Clomid, Serophene and Milophene

? Gonadotropins
Brand names: Pergonal, Humegon, Repronex, Metrodin, Fertinex, Follistim, Gonal F, Preganyl.

? Bromocriptine
Brand name: Parlodel

You learn something new every day

...As for me, I had some very, very light bleeding on Sunday (CD28) until the evening, then even lighter on CD29 morning, and now my CM has gone back to normal cream colour (sorry if TMI).

I'm due a pack of 10 HPTs any day now. I'll see if they pick anything up. I wish I could just know what my body is playing at. It's all so confusing... Is it breakthrough bleeding/cervix softening/Aunty Flo playing a joke on me/other??

Basically, I can't start taking the next round of Clomid until I get a more definite answer.

It's about time we had another success story on here!! Hmph.

xx

stac14 · 28/04/2009 12:43

Its so frustrating Clwc best wait till you get a definate answer as clomid can cause defects on the baby

Rugma My consultant is leaving me on 100mg clomid till August, even though I have yet to ov on this dose so fingers crossed I will this month and if not I will be looking for a change in my meds. Kind of feels they just give you the meds send you away and your to hope for the best lol

How are you claire carly and folie? Clwc is right we need some good news on this thread, on the other thread I use we had another BFP so I am hoping we're all getting luckier xxx

dm1970 · 29/04/2009 04:19

HI, I AM 38 AND HAD A TUBAL REVERSAL @ THE END OF JANUARY. AM I TO OLD TO HAVE A BABY? I WENT ON MY FIRST ROUND OF CLOMID BUT NO LUCK. I AM GOING TO START MY SECOND ROUND IN 2 DAYS. DOCTOR SAYS MY TUBES ARE GOOD, BLOOD COMES BACK GOOD AND NO HEALTH PROBLEMS. ANY ONE ELSE IN MY SHOES? IF SO HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO CONCEIVE?

Clwc · 29/04/2009 11:36

Hello dm1970. Welcome to this thread.

One of my relatives had a baby at about 42, so I definitely wouldn't say you're too old. And if the doc says things look good for you health-wise, then you have nothing to lose by trying (except, perhaps, your sanity! ). Good luck with it all.

stac It doesn't look as though I'll be able to continue with Clomid this month. AF really hasn't come to anything strong enough to say, "Oh yeah. That was CD1". If it really doesn't get any stronger, I'll pop down the doc's... See what she has to say.

ttfn. xx

stac14 · 29/04/2009 11:45

Hi clwc
Even if you only get slight AF you can start clomid but check with your GP, sometimes clomid makes it very light too. Have you tested again incase last time it was too early?

Welcome to the thread dm1970 your not too old to be having a baby, and as clwc says the doc says your healthy so my advice would be to take your next round of clomid, you've been through so much to have a baby why stop now?

How are the rest of you ladies?? xxx

Clwc · 29/04/2009 11:51

I tested again yesterday - BFN. It is ridiculously light, even though I'm getting strong menstrual cramps.

Grr.

stac14 · 29/04/2009 13:35

Mine was the same for about 3-4 days then it became a full period that lasted until cd 12, on the other thread they were talking about it, some say the clomid makes it lighter others say heavier so think it depends on the person, call your GP, xxx

claire001 · 29/04/2009 19:15

hey girls

Sorry I havent been on recently but my grandad died on Thursday and I havent really been in the mood for anything,
anyway I am on day 6 today so finishing clomid tomorrow that was my 4th round, I don't have to have any blood tests or scans till my next appointment with consultant in July?
how is everyone? X

stac14 · 29/04/2009 22:00

Hi Claire Im really sorry to hear about your grandad. How are you? Silly question I know. If theres anything you need just let us know Thinking of you hunxxx

Clwc · 29/04/2009 22:08

Hello Claire,

Sorry about that news. I hope it was peaceful for him.
I can fully understand if you think everything else is, well, trivial at this point in time. I bet you could really do with some good news this month. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Tonight, I began round two of Clomid. It's CD4 today, but that's based on one of the lightest periods I have ever experienced.

Take care everyone. xx

claire001 · 30/04/2009 15:01

hi girls,

Thanks for your kind words,

Stac where are you on your cycle?

Clwc are you having any side effects?

Clwc · 30/04/2009 15:39

Hi Claire,

I took the first tab last night at about 9:30pm. I've been having strange pains twinges and hot flushes for about 3 weeks now. The only thing I noticed today was a weird and vivid dream (involving the cast of scrubs and my OH ) between alarm snoozes this morning. I do tend to have vivid dreams though, so perhaps it was a coincidence. I also started taking Pregnacare a couple of days ago, but that won't have made any difference.

Can we do a list like on the other Clomid thread? I've noticed that stac is pretty good at keeping them up to date

Clwc CD5
Claire CD7

stac14 · 30/04/2009 17:07

XXX

Clwc · 30/04/2009 17:41

You're welcome, stac. I did notice you were straight in there with the updated list. I watch that thread, but haven't joined as I am already on three different threads...One of which I started myself (So proud of me! lol)

Don't forget dm1970. She should be starting Clomid tomorrow, but I don't know her CD.

rugama · 30/04/2009 20:50

Stac14 that is good, Is she going to do ultrasounds starting CD14 or just do labs.

Also, I am on CD12 and my nurse still hasn't called me to schedule ultrasound... (Left her 2 messages).

Umm... 'Step away from the first response and noone will get hurt...PART 2' and 'PCOS and hCG Levels' is the one that I started. That one has sparked quite an interest. I'm extremely interested in it (geek alert ) and would really like to know the opinion of someone in the profession, as well as other PCOSers' experiences.

hi girls,

Hope you all doing good.
Claire, i am very sorry, hope you are keeping up.

I decided to keep my acuponcture appointement this month even if i am on pill. Just to get myself ready for the next cycle. I have to say that i am happily surprised by the effect. I never felt so relax... she was working on the nervous system for the past 2 weeks and next week she will work on my ovaries. She is very popular and got many women pregnant. I have to take some herbs that she prescribe, so i will directly see the result with my gp when i go on my next appointement. the cysts are supposed to go away. So i am now on cd12, and i am supposed to get af on cd 24 as i m taking the pill. So it s not so long to wait.
Wish you all a positive month xxx

Hi Carly Are you usually late? I dont take period without provera unless I ovulate so for me thats not unusual but if its not normal for you then I would test.

Hows the clomid treating you Clwc? Folie you seem much more positive than the other day, how are you feeling?

Claire thinking about you chick xx

Clwc · 01/05/2009 18:36

Hello Folie. Good to see you.

I'm still alive, stac It hasn't got to me that much, actually. I get very fast mood swings, but I haven't noticed as many hot flushes and I don't feel as sick as I did first time 'round.

I just registered on the site you mentioned.
