Hello all,

There seems to be a lot of disappointment flying around today. It's a pity.

I've been feeling very low too (yesterday more than today) because my business (I'm a gardener) isn't doing very well, so I'm skint. And it isn't getting easier with the warmer weather. I also still think AF will be paying me a visit soon, cos I feel like I'm pre-menstrual. Even if there was the slightest chance I did fall pg this month, it's bad timing. Perhaps I didn't think things through very well, and I'm just being selfish. God knows.

But...on the other hand, every day that I wake in the morning should be a day to celebrate (?).

Well, I'm cd24 now, and there was more 'spotting' this morning. It was a bit more than on cd20. Confused? I am.

Good luck with getting what you want/need over the coming months.

xx

folie I am really sorry to hear your news, wish there was something we could do to help, but remember if you fancy a chat you know you can come on here and vent. Take care of yourself xxx

Hey Clwc
It is normal to feel low, my doc says ttc is one of the most stressful thing you can go through (then he said either put up with it or dont do it, which is way too harsh lol). Your not being selfish you are going through the same feelings we all are, when I heard DP may get paid off I was more worried about stopping ttc than having no money, and I know that is selfish its just we feel we have come a long way (been ttc for a year) If AF comes try not to let it get you down its more common for clomid to take 3-4 months to conceive. Cheer up chick xxx

Ooh. I just found this, so thought I'd share:

"What is implantation bleeding?
Implantation bleeding can occur when the fertilized egg burrows into the lining of the uterus. This process is known as implantation. Every newly conceived baby must implant, however, not every implantation will cause noticeable bleeding.

When does it happen?
A fertilized egg implants anywhere from six to ten days after fertilization. For example, if you ovulated on day 14 and conceived on day 15, you could experience spotting any time from day 21 to day 25. If you ovulate later in your cycle, implantation bleeding may also occur later. In some cases, women experience spotting on the very day they are supposed to start their period. For this reason, many women who are pregnant confuse this spotting with a true period.

How common is it?
About a third of women who become pregnant will experience light spotting, or bleeding during implantation. You may experience implantation bleeding with every pregnancy, or with none of your pregnancies.

How can I tell the difference between implantation bleeding and a real period?
Timing: Bleeding that is caused by implantation generally occurs a few days before the woman should start her period. In other cases, the bleeding may not begin until the woman should have started her menstrual cycle.

Appearance: Implantation bleeding is generally very light pink or brown in color. Occasionally, there may be a few brighter red specks, but for the most part, this bleeding looks like "old" or "faded" blood. Clots are not usually passed during implantation bleeding.

Flow: Implantation bleeding is generally quite scant. Most women use only a panty liner for several hours and find that it is more than adequate to meet their needs.

Duration: Implantation bleeding lasts from 1 to 3 days. It may appear on day 1, 3 and even 5, but rarely extends beyond that."

Sorry if you weren't interested. Lol.

Thanks stac. You're right.

I'm not exactly sure how long I've been TTC. I began when we stopped using contraception, and although DP knew the risks, I don't think he was hoping it would happen back then. Now he seems to be keen, but the night before last he suggested we couldn't afford a baby. Granted, we need to tighten the purse strings and stop paying for Sky movies, etc. but that hit me quite hard. Perhaps he just had his sensible head on for a minute. I know he doesn't quite get how much I'm putting in to all this, otherwise he wouldn't have been so insensitive. He's normally 92% perfect!

Apologies for all the long posts.

Hi Ladies,

I started Letrozole today so far no side affects but lets see at the end of the day.

But just found out that my insurance only covers for one pill a day but my pharmacy was nice enough to give me 2 dosis a day .

I was little scared of taking letrozole but did a little research.

Also, Have any of you done the egg white.

Does it work?, I am willing to try it but would like to hear more from it.

rugama · 22/04/2009 20:42

Hi folie,

Be happy that atleast your starting treatment soon before you know it, it will be around the corner..... And your preparing your ovaries for much more to come plus your body.

Sometimes is good to take a break because as we all know its hard enough dealing with the idea of " is it going to work" or "not", prego or not... I was thinking about taking a break for atleast one cycle to get my body back to normal without medicine.

Be happy and think positive.

stac14 · 22/04/2009 22:19

Hey Clwc
I have had the same problems with DP, it take them a while to realise how hard it is for us, over the past couple of months we had so many fights I was worried for our relationship, but now he understands he is back to being fab and supportive, even with the money stuff. I'm sure your partner will be the same.

rugma theres a woman on another thread I use who has just done a cycle of letrozole, maybe you can log onto that one find out what she thinks about it its on - Mumsnet Discussions: Conception : TTC - Clomid Thread Part 2

claire hope your ok chick xxx

Clwc · 23/04/2009 10:32

CD25 - BFN. Maybe a bit early to test, but you all know what it's like when you can't wait. I'll try again after CD28/29.

claire001 · 23/04/2009 10:48

ehy stac

I spoke to my consultant and she said to wait untill tuesday or wednesday before i start to worry but she expect i should come on over the weekend so here i am waiting again,XX

stac14 · 23/04/2009 11:53

Hiya claire
Think the waiting is the worse, you probably wil come on yourself try not to worry cos that can hold it back too

I started AF last Friday as you know it was very light until last night when I have become very heavy and I am still getting a lot of cramps, usually by now I would have stopped. Has anyone else had this? or should I be concerned? XXX

folie · 23/04/2009 13:18

Hi rugama,

Thank you for your words, they really cheer me up. I have to say that i stopped to put pression on myself, and stop counting the day. I am just relaxing, concentrating on my work, on litlle holiday breaks, etc... I didn t realise also how much pression was feeling my husband. Yesterday one of his best friend told him his girlfriend was pregnant, and that really upset him. He also can not wait, and sometimes he got some blocage in bed. I didn t realise that he wanted a baby so badly!! because he sees me so nervous already that he s staying quite till he explode last night. So it will come when god decides! now or in 6 months, what s the difference ?i am gonna follow the treatment but not put too much effort in it and i am gonna stop talking about it!
I wish you the best of luck with your new treatment!

Hi Clwc,

The next time you test, try with the electronic clearblue, it works 4 days before due date. It s the most efficient! good luck to you xxx

Hi stacy,

Thank you for your kind words, hope everything is ok. I think if your period carry over 7 days you should definately talk to your gp. Best of luck for this month xxx

Hi Claire,

Try to keep your mind as busy as possible, those days are the worst to kill. Hope your planning something this week end to look foward. xxx

stac14 · 23/04/2009 16:44

Thanks folie hope you feel better soon x

Carly23 · 24/04/2009 14:17

Hi Everyone!
Im new to this, I was reading through all your post and i can relate to the them.
I been trying for baby with my b.f of 5 years for 4 years, we put it down to work issues and stress why i was not fallin PG PLUS i was also on contraception injection for 2 years before i got with shane and my periods never been regular since i still have periods every 40-45 days. We decided that we need to see our gp last year and got refered to fertility clinic i got appointment 3 months later.. A long wait! I have had all the blood test which showed i had low hormone levels and u.s which confirmed PCOS and i also had hcg test which showed my tubes were fine.. Which i had Mild cramps with.
I got my next appointment on 27th Apr to hopefully start clomid..

does anyone know what the success rate is for clomid?

Carlyx x x

Clwc · 24/04/2009 14:59

Hello Carly,

Welcome.

I also had the contraception injection about 9 or 10 years ago (has it really been that long?!). I wish I hadn't, but it probably didn't make much/any difference to the PCOS.

I don't think anyone really knows the success rate as a figure, but it works for a lot of women. It also seems to kick-start the body, and often women conceive naturally a while after having taken Clomid.

I hope it works for you.

xx

Carly23 · 24/04/2009 19:39

Hi clwc

I think thats what i need a kick start things have never been the same since coming off injection..

I will let you know what happens on my appointment on monday.

Carly x x x

Clwc · 25/04/2009 01:21

Best of luck, Carly. I hope the Doc gives you the Clomid & all the monitoring you need.

The thing with PCOS 'periods' is that they don't always occur because you are shedding an unfertilized egg and unrequired womb lining. A lot of the time, it is because the lining of your womb has built up so much (in anticipation of ovulation and subsequent fertilization) that it just has to go.

The pill 'fools' your body into thinking that you have ovulated but the egg wasn't fertilized, so your periods come regularly as clockwork. Ovulation or not.

I didn't ever have regular menses until I started taking the pill at 16.

...And folie, stac, rugama and claire, I hope you're all doing OK

xx

Clwc · 26/04/2009 13:19

CD28 now. Still feel nauseous, but AF arrived in the wee small hours of this morning...At least I believe that's what it is. I'll see bit later on today or tomorrow morning.

In any case, I've just about decided to go without Clomid again this month to see if my bits got the kick up the ar*e they needed.

Hope you're all well.

xx

stac14 · 26/04/2009 20:42

Hi Claire How are you? How was your weekend?

Hi Clwc Just reading your post there about stopping clomid this month, I read recently that it can take 3 cycles to make any difference to ttc so maybe you should check with your GP see what she says. Hope you dont think I am interfering

Hi rugma and folie how are you 2 getting on?

Hi Carly welcome to the thread, how are you?

I still have AF, thats 10 days should I phone the doc or just wait to see what happens?
baby dust to all

Clwc · 27/04/2009 00:19

Hiya stac

Thanks for passing on your knowledge. I don't think that is 'interfering'. Where did you read that? I've read various theories and examples from women who write on forums. I suppose it's different for everyone, and considering the effect 50mg has already had on me (e.g. getting AF within one cycle without progesterone), I still have some more thinking to do. I have time (a day or two). I don't think this can be counted as CD1. It's too light. It has caused a heck of a lot of pain over the past week or so too. Perhaps I'm a bit afraid of that. My head's gone to mush!

I'll go sleep on it all now. Night night.

xx

PS I don't know how progesterone reacts, but 10 days seems a bit long. Isn't it getting lighter yet? Maybe the GP is your best bet, or perhaps the NHS phone line.

Carly23 · 27/04/2009 09:53

Hi Stac im ok thanks, u?

I just been to my appointment this morning and i cant belive they lost my partners results from his semen sample.. he now needs to do another 1! so i wont be starting the clomid till he does it again.. We are so annoyed with this as they already seen he is normal so why should he do it again..

xx

stac14 · 27/04/2009 13:16

Hi clwc
I will try to find the info for you, I have read that much stuff on this that I cant remember lol, but my consultant did say I will be taking it for 6 months before they consider anything else.

Hi Carly
I have clomid and DP hasn't done his semen sample at all yet, the consultant says its no big rush as he already has DS so its likely he is normal so if your DPs result was normal then surely they can let you get started. You have just reminded me I need to get him to do that, its just been a nightmare because of his shifts

Hi Claire Are you ok? Not heard from you in a couple of days

rugama · 27/04/2009 17:58

I am doing great so far... been having problems with my new nurse she is not as efficient as my other nurse... It's a pain in the butt when you have to remind your nurse about your treatment.

she hasn't even called me and I need to schedule my ultrasound.

I am so fustrated... can you believe she was about to give me clomid again after the doctor said no more clomid.

OMG I didn't have any side effects on letrozole... much happier too.

Hey Rugma
How come you had to change your nurse? A few people have said letrozole is much better, can I ask why you were chaged to it? xxx
