Clomid success stories please

Hi

Not sure if this has been done before but am due to start clomid next month and could do with some happy stories. Please let me know why you were prescribed it and how long it took to get pregnant.

I know i am in the wrong thread but didn't get a response on ttc thread. As hopefully you are all here.

What dosage are you on this month or are you being kept on 150mg as you ov'd last month?

Think I will try 150mg tonight and tomorrow see if it makes any difference. Then according to the fertility calculator thing I use I should be oving between 27th April and 1st of May, its DS's 10th Birthday on 29th April and I have to go for an MRI on 27th April but I dont think the MRI will affect ovulation or do you know if it does? xx

Why have you got to have an MRI? Have you had 1 before? No it doesnt effect it at all,

Im going to do 150mg day 2, 200mg days 3 4 and 5 then 150mg day 6 and 7, X

I was in a car crash nearly 2 years ago and it caused back and neck damage. My left arm goes numb from time to time and the xray was clear, the doc thinks its coming from my neck so he wants to do an MRI. I haven't had one before and to be honest I am a bit nervous not cos I think it will hurt but because I hate small places, I'm sure I will be fine. What you up to today? I am supposed to do my assessment but can't get my head into it, just was well its not due till FRiday

HEY Stacy,

I am starting cd3 till cd7 normally, i have an appointement with my pg this wenesday. I also took an acuponcture appointement on thursday. She is helping women to get pregnant and she is treating op also.
So this month i am so full of hope, i am really going to maximise my chances with a vitamin supplement, the grapefruit juice, the preseed and healthy food.
My husband is leaving for business exactly when i should be ovulating. So i ll have to go with him. Our futur baby is already expensive!
Did you gp increased your doses this month?

No consultant told me it was dangerous for my condition to increase the clomid more than 100mg, (I have polycystic ovary syndrome) but to be honest I think he is just palming me off till August, I have a few spare tablets so I am going to increase a couple of days this cycle.
When are you supposed to drink the grapefruit juice? Where are u 2 off to on the business trip? May help you both relax xx

hey stac,

When I had mine u didn't no what to expect at all, so I will tell you my experience so hopefully it won't be so bad for you,

When you go into the room they will hopefully ask if you want music played to you (definetly say yes) they couldn't for me that day, if they don't they will give you ear plugs, then you lay on the table and they will kind of strap you in and they will give you this ball thing to hold in case you panic you squeeze it, they will then leave you in the room and you will start to go into the machine, it is so unbelivebly noisy but don't be scared, I was in there for 1 hour and the noise is constant it goes from lots of short beeps to really long one,

Sorry if it sounds a bit drastic but thought you would like to no what happens and hopfully it won't be that bad for you, XX

Hello all, Just wanted to give you an update... I ended up getting my period yesterday... I was going to do my HPT on wednesday... I am not sad....and I can finally say BYE BYE to clomid and hello to letrozole..... I am also happy because I have not taken prometrium/provera in 4cycles... Here goes to 3months of letrozole.... and 25lbs down to go.. lol.... Its going to be so hard....

Well i still havent come on, I done a test on friday (earlie i no bit couldnt wait any longer) it was negative so definetly no im no pregnant,Just wish it would hurry up so i can start 4th round,

Maybe you tested too early sometimes theres not enough hormone when you test early, maybe you should try testing again see how you go, would be lovely to hear good news

no worries about reply. was a big long story lol.

Night 4 of clomid for me, my cramp has been quite bad but my bleeding is almost non existant, feeling quite positive about it. DP just off the phone to say there will be redundacies in his work so I am hoping it wont he him thats all we need, but trying to stay calm, as he is the only valater in his place so I would say they need him but what do I know xx

I might test tomorrow then but been having cramps for like 4 or 5 days now so not sure what is going on, Have you had any worse side effects taking a higher dose?

Hopefully your husband will be fine, If he is the only valeter then i cant imagine them getting rid of him. Try not to worry. XX

To be honest I have stuck to 100mg this month too much going on to mess about with the dose, I also read it can take till the 3rd cycle for you to ov so hoping the meds will have kicked in this month but if no joy then I will up it next month. What day did you come on last month? that may help you judge your cycle

I'm sure DP will be ok, but its just a worry the as I am sure it is for lots of other people at the moment.

Last month i came on 20.03 so i am on day 34 now, i might ring the doctor today and ask for provera i just want to come on so i can get started again.X

She might not give you provera because you ovulated this month. I have serious cramp today and I am 6 days into my period, just wish it would stop lol Its been weird this month, not much of a bleed until today sorry if tmi.

Got a bit of good news DP's boss has told him his job is pretty much safe, mainly because he is a hard worker so I have managed to relax a bit.

Are you going to try testing? Think your doc would advise another test before provera, I had to test before I took it this month. When I was pregnant with Jack I had lots of cramps felt like I was taking a period that never came, dont want to get your hopes up but its worth another test to put your mind at rest. I will keep everything crossed for you xxx

Aww claire didn't realise you had tested already, sorry about bfn. I am sick of seeing negative tests as you must be. Phone doc see what she says, in case you need provera. Hope your ok hun x

Yeah im alright, im not dissapointed about the test but just getting really frustrated that i cant start my next round, I phoned my doctors and they are going to give me the priscription, i also phoned my consultant but she isnt in today so she will give me a call back tomorrow, I no what you mean about the tests, I think from now on im just going to take provera and if i havent come on 5 days after that just test straight away so i dont keep thinking about it, Hopefully with getting the keys to our new place in a few weeks and then moving in july it will take my mind off it,

To be quite honest im getting really board of it all, I hate having to plan the sex then having the blood tests then having to wait ages. I always try not to think about it but no matter how much you try to fall yourself you never really stop thinking about it, and just so fed up with it, Sorry to moan i no we all in the same situation. XX

Hi claire I feel the exact same way, your not moaning it is very frustrating. My only advice is try not to plan sex as long as you have sex before you ov you have every chance of getting pg as sperm lives in the body for 2-3 days. (just read it on some website) When bding becomes a chore it puts strain on couples and thats the last thing we need. We are just trying to do it regularly and hope for the best. I have even stopped telling DP when I'm supposed to be oving so it doesnt feel so clinical (soz long post) xx

Hi,

Just came back from my gp appointement, and i am absolutely devastated. Was suppose to start the treatment today but unfortunately the doc told me is not possible because the right ovary is too big with follicles and that might become big cysts with the treatment. So i have to let sleep my ovaries for a month and he prescibed me the contraceptive pill. Have to wait for my next period to hopefully get started. I was so overwhelmed for this month, was suppose to go to Monaco with my husband for his work, and now i just cancel everything. Had also an appointement with an accuponcter tomorow to help pregnancy but just feel now like no point! i really try to cheer up but i just feel my life it s about waiting and killing time to get started with my treatment. It has been now 6 months that i am waiting for it, and 10 months that i am trying without ovulating and without help. So i think i might have to disconnect this all month, and let s see what happen next month!!!
