hey stac, my consultant phoned me last week and said my levels were 4.2 so definetly didn't ovulate, I'm just going to let myself come on naturally but its such a pain waiting this long. X

stac14 · 19/03/2009 10:11

Hey follie
Let us know how you get on with the specialist, do you have any children?

claire
I don't really want to take the progesterone this month either as I feel it is an overload of hormones which has been making my mood crap. Are they upping your clomid this month since you never ov'd?

Hey Lauren and Brandybaby and anyone else I have missed how are you all?

Lauren Have you been told when you will see the specialist?

Brandybaby Sorry AF got you this month, how you feeling?

Hey Brandybaby

How are you? Havent heard from you in a while. X

stac14 · 19/03/2009 12:17

Hi claire
Have they offered you the provera again? I am reading my blood results, had a lot of cramping round about ov time but don't think it means anything, fed up waiting for stuff lol. My consultant said the highest they go is 250mg and when I asked what would happen if that didn't work I was told to wait and see what happens, they don't explain much, my GP says its because they haven't even looked at plan B for me yet, just to get on with it till August but I worked out that if I keep going up the clomid I would need to see the consultant before then, who knows lol

claire001 · 19/03/2009 14:44

Hey stac,

They might keep you on it for another 6 months, Thats what my consultant said to when i asked her what would happen if i still wasnt pregnant by june, god i hope we both fall before then! X

stac14 · 19/03/2009 16:58

Hey claire
Didnt think I would say this but I really hate taking the meds, I know it should result in a baby but they are horrible so heres hoping we fall before our 6 months are up not sure I could cope with a year of this lol, far too stressful. How are you feeling? Any cramps? xx

folie · 19/03/2009 18:33

Hello Girls! went to my appointement and i am really pleased. The doctor said that we start with the treatment on my next cycle after further analysis. He also said that my other doc missdiagnosed me and that i don t do hyperandrogenism and that i have to stop the medication straight away.(just can t believe it!)so i had today the LH and FSH blood test, my husband had the spermcount, and if the result of my husband is good i have to do a radiographie of my fallopian tubes. Then he will tell me if you start with injection or clomid. Can t believe i wasted so much time with the other doctor who kept on prescribing me oral contraceptive!lots of luck to you all x

Taking the provera didn't really make me feel bad anyway, my consultant put me on 150 mg this month but I'm so fed of not even ovulating I'm kind of doing my own thing ( I'm taking 150mg for the first 2 days then doing 200mg for 2 days then back to 150mg for another 2 days and I'm hoping that will sort me out, X

rugama · 23/03/2009 16:12

Hello All,

I'm doing better and staying positive. I start my next cycle of clomid 200mg in two days and if this fails I start Letrozole.

Here is some info on the meds... in case you guys are interested!

Letrozole and Clomid.
Both clomiphene citrate and letrozole are medications used to treat infertile women who have an ovulation problem. These medications work by helping your pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain) improve the stimulation of developing follicles (eggs) in the ovaries. Neither clomiphene citrate nor letrozole may help a woman become more fertile if she is already ovulating normally. For that reason, these medications are most often prescribed to those patients who have been found to have an abnormality with their cycle.

Clomiphene is often referred to as the "fertility pill". Letrozole is very similar to clomiphene in the way it works. However, letrozole is quickly cleared from the body. It only works for the cycle in which it is taken and is less likely to adversely affect the uterine lining and cervical mucous. With clomiphene, one may experience effects 6-8 weeks after stopping the medication. Both medications are prescribed for five days each cycle, usually beginning on day three and continuing through day seven. The usual initial dose for clomiphene is 50 mg, one tablet daily. The number of tablets can be increased to as many as four daily, if a lesser dosage does not result in ovulation. Rarely are more than two tablets required. Clomiphene should be repeated each cycle until pregnancy occurs, or your doctor discontinues it. The usual dosage of letrozole is 2.5 mg., one tablet each day. (wink)

Ovarian drilling, done during laparoscopy, is a procedure in which a laser fibre or electrosurgical needle punctures the ovary 4 to 10 times. This treatment results in a dramatic lowering of male hormones within days and is often performed in women who have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Studies have shown that up to 80 percent of patients will benefit from such treatment. Many women who fail to ovulate with clomiphene or Metformin therapy will respond when these medications are reintroduced to the system after ovarian drilling. Side effects are rare, but may result in adhesion formation or ovarian failure if there are complications during the procedure.

stac14 · 23/03/2009 17:18

Hey Claire
I don't know why I don't get scanned, it's never been offered but if I don't ov this month I am going to phone the consultant to see what they can do to help, theres no point in keeping taking tabs that are doing nothing for me and I may be like you and need trigger shots.

Hey rugma
Glad your feeling better.
Thanks for the info do you know if they prescribe letrozole in the UK my clomid side effects aren't great a week or so after taking them.

rugama · 23/03/2009 21:43

I don't see why not! Go ahead and ask your doctor about it and ask if its would be okay for you to take it if clomid doesn't work.

Hopefully, it will work out for you... I will be on my last cycle of clomid... in 2 days...

I will let you know when I start Letrozole and tell you how it goes...

I hope clomid works for you.

How long have you been taking clomid and what dose.

rugama · 23/03/2009 21:53

I HOPE ALL ARE YOU GETTING YOUR TRIGGER SHOT WITH CLOMID.

claire001 · 23/03/2009 22:03

hey stac, did you watch the great sperm race? X

stac14 · 23/03/2009 22:17

Hey Claire
I didn't watch it was it any good? Did it shed any light on the crap we are going through?

Hey rugma
I'm not getting trigger shots or even scans they are checking ovulation through cd 21 bloods
