Clomid success stories please

Hi

Not sure if this has been done before but am due to start clomid next month and could do with some happy stories. Please let me know why you were prescribed it and how long it took to get pregnant.

I know i am in the wrong thread but didn't get a response on ttc thread. As hopefully you are all here.

ITs good to see your so positive, gives me a lift when reading. I was the same as you, we ttc for 8 months alone then had 50mg clomid and now 100mg but in July last year they found I have pcos on top of that I already have an under-active thyroid so my system is pretty messed up.
Had a good weekend, spent time relaxing with DP, he feels the same as your hubby when its ov time.

At the docs today I have to get my full bloods done yet again, as I haven't had my thyroid checked since last March (meant to be every 3-6 months) I need to ensure I am physically fit so there are no probs when I get my bfp.

you have been on clomid for 14 months?! i could easily talk about it all day to my partner but he is the type of person that wont talk about something untill it is happening, it so annoying because he just has no interest, X

Should they be doing that since you still haven't had af? will they scan or do test first? Let us know how you get on.

claire has your partner been asked to provide a semin sample? mine has he is doing it this week, doc says she doubts anything is wrong as he already has a son but they want to double check just in case, he is dreading it lol. Sometimes my partner is very interested other times he gets bored think its a man thing. How you today?

yea they did a tst n it was negative... didnt really get the result i was looking for 2day...
the area of cells which wer abnormal in my cervix have got a lot wider if that makes sense to u's so she took a biopsy 2day and if it cums bk cn2 or cn3 cells then i hav to go in for a day procedure in get it all cut away so she advised to me to stop tryin and stay of the clomid until i get this sorted so have to wait on my results n a date to go in and get that done... nitemare...
ive waited years on a baby so im sure a few months wont do any harm.

Yeah he done a sample a few months ago, it was alright when he had to do it coz he done it at home and I drive it down to the hospital so he got away with it lightly! X

No I have not been on clomid for 14 months. I have been ttc for 14 moths. This is my 6th month on clomid. My husband didn?t care about taking about it the first few months, but after that he just a guy he wants to talk about other things! My husband did the same thing... He did it at home and then we drove right to the doctors office.

Hey Brandybaby I didn't realise you had an underactive thyroid, is that why the consultant prescribed baby aspirin? When I went to the docs today she ordered for me to get my full blood works checked as it hasn't been done for a year so got them done this afternoon should have the results by next wednesday or thursday. The condition runs in my family, mum had problems ttc but my cousin had no probs at all so I guess it just depends. Did you check out the Daily strength website? They also have info on hypothyroidism

Anyway I have gibbered on for too long so I am now off to bed. Nitey nite xx

I just tucked the pot in my waste band and drove there ( very uncomfetable) When i got to the hospital i was mortified but the nurses were so not bothered (suppose thay see it alot) i was laughing to myself while driving ther,i kept thinking what if i break down or have an accident and someone has to come out and help me.

Iv got my consultants appointment, Cant wait

Sorry i ment its tomorrow, i should get my MRI results aswell, Men get away with everything dont they,we have to get prodded and poked around and all they have to do is pleasure themselfs!

Just managed to finish my assessment but now I have a new workbook to start, not to bad though ds is at footy training today so I dont have to get him till after 4pm. What else have you to see the consultant for? I am going to phone mine about taking baby aspirin, i bought them yesterday but someone advised you should only take them if they are prescribed so I suppose I better check. x

im going to ask about baby aspirin aswell and ask if i can have more blood tests to see if and when exactually i ovulate and also what the next step would be if after the 6 months im still not pregnany. X

make sure youwrite down all that you want to ask so that you don't forget anything, i forgot loads of stuff i wanted to know cos I left my list in the house

Do you use the ovulation predictor kit? i would quite like to but not sure if they work with people taking clomid?

I dont use them lots of people do, but apparantly they give false readings for those with pcos so that rules us out lol, brandybaby swears by them as they work for her, I found a site that has a clomid calculator, it calculates your fertile days by the date you took clomid its www.babymed.com/tools/fertility/clomid/default.aspx, that will at least give you a guideline

How long do you think you will have to be off clomid for?
I no that it is frustrating you just have to stay positive andrhunk that it will happen when its ment to, you never ni you might fall while your on your break, X

How are you today? Got af this morning I am so glad it means I can start my clomid tomorrow night.

Claire Hope everything goes well with the consultant, let me know what they say about the baby aspirin if you ask.

Lauren Are you defo going to take a months break? Did your af come on?

hey girls sorry i havent been on have had a bug so havent been 2 well... fine now though.

claire not sure how long i hav to be off it for i suppose until i get my procedure done and they are happy enough with everythin.

stac i have to takethe break from clomid until the hospital is happy enough and i get this procedure done whenever that will be but she said to me if i fall pregnant myself then not to worry.
still no af think i jus didnt ovulate this that month... phoned consultant to let her know that the hospital has advised me to stop tryin and stop the clomid but she isnt in 2day... so ill ring her 2moro n see what shes has to say about the whole thing. u started your clomid then... thats great

I'm with the nhs Lauren, not started clomid its day 2-6 so start tomorrow night, nervous but excited. Thats rubbish about having to stop the clomid but at least you dont have to use contraception so theres still a chance. Are you going to phone the consultant back about your lack of af? She may want to do blood tests, since you have pcos do you skip periods? Mine never come naturally thats why I ask.

I saw my consultant and iv got a fyboroyde in my womb but she said its nothing to worry about at the moment, she done a scan and said she thinks iv got an egg about to release but where iv got pcos its quite hard to tell so iv got to go back on monday for another scan it see if I have ovulated so I'm keeping by fingers crossed.

I asked her about baby aspirin and she said don't take it, people should only take it if they are prone to miscarage. X

Does that mean if you have had previous m/c or if you have a condition that may make you more prone to them?

You must be chuffed that you have ov'd or are nearly oving, keeping fingers for you xx
