After 10 years of fertility treatments, countless failed IVF cyclces and four heartbreaking miscarriages (all at around five weeks), my brother phoned me tonight to tell me that he was sitting on his sofa looking at a scan picture of a little tiny being with a strong heartbeat at seven weeks! Its early days but all the signs are good and this is the furthest they have ever come. I am just sending a heartfelt plea for all of you, whatever your beliefs, to send a little prayer or positive thought that this little baby makes it. I really really believe it makes a difference. We've been praying hard ever since the IVF cycle and I dreamt they had a little girl! They will be wonderful parents. So please send a thought of strength and life and hope and love and whatever else to help this most precious little person make it safely into the world.
thanks with the biggest lump in my throat xx

Message from Little Beans Mummy

To all

My kind and sweet sister-in-law has told me of her post asking for all to say a prayer or send a positive thought our way for our miracle little one. I can?t believe the amount of wonderful responses from all over the world she has received.

I just want everyone to know that their prayers and positive thoughts have helped make this journey a little less nerve wracking for me and as we both grow I find myself thinking less ?Why has it worked this time and not the 25 or so times before?? and more about our baby?s tiny little fingers and eyelashes. That is what makes the last nine years worth it. I just wanted to thank everyone and I guess although we are spread all over the world, we all walk the same path one way or another.

Love and thanks again to all

She's swinging now
Our 'Little Bean'
Or perhaps a 'he'
On this worldwide screen?

Limbs and lashes
Organs and brain
A miraculous symphony
Erradicates pain

Beans from before
That linger inside
And touch with remembrance
The most loving of guides

As you stay on this route
Little Bean, towards life
Where the others stopped short
They're your shepherds -- not strife

Lead on 'Before Beans'
Don't let this one stutter
Every kick, every milestone
Our global heart flutters

melbournemum · 21/09/2006 23:53

Clemsterdarcy that is just so beautiful, so beautiful. Not just the words but the sentiment of all the little Beans that have come before guiding this little one safely into the world. You are quite amazing and more than a little talented! Thank you

Californifamousfanjo, i agree .Lovely sil has previously said she prefers to be a lurker and has been a bit too nervous to join but I'll remind her how much love there is here for her and my db and their bean. I know she'd love to 'meet' you all.

hi again Clemsterdarcy
I just wanted to say (and sorry everyone to bang on!) but having read your poem for at least the 50th time this morning, what you wrote is so incredibly comforting, even to me who has not lost a baby but have only grieved for the loss and pain of my db and sil, the thought of all their tiny babies who came before Little Bean guiding their little brother or sister safely home is just the most precious gift, it somehow gives them the important recognition they deserve, and gives little Bean loving company on his or her journey. Thank you, again.
More happy tears this morning. xx

Thank you. You're welcome and it is pure pleasure (and infact an honour) to be part of this even in some small way.

I am delighted and inspired by the outpouring of love and good will that runs through this.

How special to be able to recognise what is truly important in this world... there is still beauty and benevolence to behold.

We are all in some small way carrying Little Bean under our hearts.

my goodness - what a beautiful thread! Hello little bean...one day you can read all these messages and know how truly longed for you are!

Must just say - Clemsterdarcy - you have made me weep. I have often though about my lost baby during this pregnancy and the sentiment that she is helping my new beanie on his or her way is heartwarming. Thank you, thank you.

Booboobedoo · 22/09/2006 16:34

Just found this lovely thread, and am all tearful.

My bean (avocado-sized now) is waving his little arms at MM's B's bean.

MoreTeaAnyone · 22/09/2006 16:47

So glad to hear that things are going well. All my love and best wishes to Little Bean and Little Bean's mummy ( and the rest of the family).

Prayers coming from Glasgow.

clemsterdarcy · 22/09/2006 19:10

I'm blushing - thank you.

But this is Little Bean's thread ...

One thing that might help us come to terms with the 'Before Beans' is to think about the principles of energy ... ie one of the rules of physics (stay with me here, I won't geek out too much!) is that energy cannot be created nor destroyed but passes from one form to another (ice to liquid to gas etc)...

Why don't we consider love ... and therefore the 'Before Beans' in the same way ... not lost but transformed to leaders.

The most beautiful and productive energy of all is that of love ...

lubella · 22/09/2006 19:37

Lots of love to you little bean - this thread is truly inspirational
