After 10 years of fertility treatments, countless failed IVF cyclces and four heartbreaking miscarriages (all at around five weeks), my brother phoned me tonight to tell me that he was sitting on his sofa looking at a scan picture of a little tiny being with a strong heartbeat at seven weeks! Its early days but all the signs are good and this is the furthest they have ever come. I am just sending a heartfelt plea for all of you, whatever your beliefs, to send a little prayer or positive thought that this little baby makes it. I really really believe it makes a difference. We've been praying hard ever since the IVF cycle and I dreamt they had a little girl! They will be wonderful parents. So please send a thought of strength and life and hope and love and whatever else to help this most precious little person make it safely into the world.
thanks with the biggest lump in my throat xx

How weird, I was only thinking about this thread the other day and wondering if the new baby had arrived yet.

I only just found this thread this morning, and I've spent all morning riding the rollercoaster of messages! (I've smiled and sobbed all the way through!)

Was just wondering if there was an update????
Its like reading a book with no last page!!!!

What an absolutely beautiful thread, would love to know how things are going now...?

A long overdue hello and happy happy update.
Our precious little miracle NeveBean is now a divine, sweet, spirited 2 year old who hero-worships her daddy and has a small and beautiful and equally precious sister called Isla.
The happiest of happy endings for my lovely db and dsil (although I secretly think he'd like another one!!!)

I will attempt to upload a photo to my profile.

With so much love to you all as ever

MM xxxx

Wow! Congrats, and thanks so much for the update. I was late to this thread, but remember reading it with my heart in my mouth and tears in my eyes.
Isn't it funny how, years later, you still remember some thread titles?

MelbourneMum · 12/08/2009 14:17

Katie is having it all beautifully bound into a book for Neve to keep (and one for me!)

So now its almost midnight and I'm reading through the whole thread again, I can't stop myself!

It still gives me shivers.

You're all amazing.

MM xx

No health professional seems bothered, and just told me my babies head was very long and narrow. looked at info on internet on dolichocephaly.......very scared now.......anyone come across this?

sl003 · 12/08/2009 20:42

ErikaMaye · 16/08/2009 06:20

Only just found this. Congratulations to you all My Uncle and Aunt are just coming up to the same stage you mentioned if your very first post. I hope their story turns out as sweetly and perfectly as yours. x

Mouette · 16/08/2009 12:23

I pray the little one may sail through the next 7 months and be born safely to give much joy to his/her parents. May the dream come true! A good hearbeat at 7 weeks is a very good sign. xx

thedailyfemale · 16/08/2009 13:33

Mouette look at the date of the thread

MelbourneMum, I only come on Mumsnet now and ten (very now and then actually!) but I always, always check this thread and so, very, very belatedly indeed, I am thrilled to read of Isla's safe arrival. Your story has really stayed with me since I first started reading and crying all that time ago and I so hope that all is well for you away across the world from me. I, like Neve, have an Isla for a younger sister, (although mine is spelt Eila). She's a fabulous girl who has just got married! Anyway, enough waffle, just to let you know that I, and I'm sure many, many others were so touched by your story. Lots of luck and happiness to you all.
