After 10 years of fertility treatments, countless failed IVF cyclces and four heartbreaking miscarriages (all at around five weeks), my brother phoned me tonight to tell me that he was sitting on his sofa looking at a scan picture of a little tiny being with a strong heartbeat at seven weeks! Its early days but all the signs are good and this is the furthest they have ever come. I am just sending a heartfelt plea for all of you, whatever your beliefs, to send a little prayer or positive thought that this little baby makes it. I really really believe it makes a difference. We've been praying hard ever since the IVF cycle and I dreamt they had a little girl! They will be wonderful parents. So please send a thought of strength and life and hope and love and whatever else to help this most precious little person make it safely into the world.

Its strange being back in Australia for a hot sunny seafood bbq on the beach kind of Christmas.

SIL has suggested that BLB now have an extra letter VBLB (VERY big little bean) she says she's huge!

Scan tomorrow so I will post news and hopefully a picture. All is well and my other sisters and I are going to Sydney for a baby shower in the New Year which will be so special.

I will help that wonderful telepathic message from Auntie's Strawberry and LittleMissletoesensible(I love that) to reach db by emailing it to him just in case he hadn't quite had a quite moment to receive it!

Merry Merry Belated Christmas all you lovely mumsnetters

VBLB had a very special Christmas. I asked SIL if she did well from Santa and she said 'Bean did well!' Lots of lovely little presents waiting for his or her arrival. Thank you Auntie Strawberry and Auntie Sensible for the gift from VBLB to mummy suggestion. I forwarded your message to DB and he called straight away. 'Well what do I get then?, I've obviously never done this before!' I suggested a copy of 'Guess How Much I Love You' and VBLB's mummy was soooooooooo touched. She just loved it. What a special Christmas for them, imagine next year's! I got an email from db later which simply said 'Who are these people? They are amazing!' And you all are.

Last Thursday's scan was a joy. The doctor described VBLB as 'chubby' and he/she spent the whole time thumb sucking! They have some very gorgeous photos which db has promised to scan so I can post them.

All in all it was wonderful Christmas for our family with so much excitement for the New Year ahead. My two precious boys had a wonderful time too(they rarely get a mention on their cousin's thread!) I"m going to post a little Christmas picture over on member profiles.

We are in a post-Christmas haze here up north - our 4 had a wonderful time, although the sweetest was dd2 (2.5), who now asks every day where Father Christmas is...
