I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Hi everyone!

Have been away for a week as my laptop at home is still broken and went to Center Parcs for a relaxing weekend which was lovely, so only just catching up!

Collision - congratulations!!!!

Has Jellycat joined yet? Or did I miss that?

Pandabear - snap! I had bleeding too and a scan could see the sac and yolk so I have to go back next tuesday (2 weeks from original scan) to make sure everything is ok. Longest 2 weeks of my life so far!

I had my booking in appointment with the midwife yesterday. She is the same one as I saw with DD and she remembered me which was nice. She will make a house visit to me next week. She reassured me by saying that it was a good sign that I am still having pregnancy symptoms - I want to sleep all the time!

How is everyone else today?

x

PandaBear · 24/03/2004 08:55

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to you all for your words of support. I'm feeling OK at the moment and am trying to stay positive. I know what you mean M2E it is definitely a long two weeks wait isn't it!!!

I'm still spotting a little bit each day, but nothing that I think I should worry about. I guess there's nothing I can do except wait.

Other than that I've started to feel sick every time food wears off, and exhaustion is setting in... I've barely made it past 9pm every night this week!!! What with that and frequent night visits to the loo - I still feel pregnant so good signs

Hope everyone else is doing well and not feeling too grotty

jellycat · 24/03/2004 20:09

Hello Mum2Ela (how nice to be remembered!) and everyone else on this thread.

I hadn't posted before because we've been away for a long long weekend. I suppose I am 5 weeks pregnant by now with a due date of 26th Nov. or thereabouts. I'm going to see my GP tomorrow. Feeling like a bit of a nervous wreck at the moment because I just don't feel very pregnant! I can't remember how I felt at this stage with ds. My boobs are a bit sore (but not very) and that's about it.

Anyway, hope you're all feeling as well as can be expected and I'll `speak' to you soon.

bunny2 · 24/03/2004 20:28

Jellycat, I am due the day after you! Dont worry too much about lack of symptoms, it is still early for us. I am sure the sickness didnt kick in till 6 weeks in my previous pregnancies.

eidsvold · 25/03/2004 06:36

sick, sick, sick.... that sums me up I am 76 weeks and the morning sickness has kicked in with a vengeance...... totally different to the last - I was sock but not as much as I am this time......

Glad to read all is well with others...

still have not heard back from the hospital about my early scan so am going to try and chase them up today to see if they even got the referral and if I am even in the system.

Ghosty · 25/03/2004 07:09

Blimey eidsvold ... 76 weeks pregnant ... is that some kind of medical miracle or something
BTW ... morning sickness is in my book always a really good sign ........
Congrats all you preggie people ... can't believe there is already a november thread ...

eidsvold · 25/03/2004 12:34

oops you can tell I am not on the planet.... wonder what a sock is also?!?!

it should be 8 weeks...

Twinkie · 25/03/2004 12:41

You're going mad too then??

So far I have

  1. Thrown oven lighter thing (ignition has gone!!) in the washing up bowl to give it a bit of a scrub!! (its now in the bin!!)

  2. Put keys in the fridge and thenhad such a panic I was sure I had left it in DDs school bag and went to quizz the scool teachers and made the caretaker open up the nursery!!

  3. Let some bitch reverse into my car and then let her off shouting at me and saying she had only tapped it - in her yonks old fiesta - sorry you are not supposed to even tap other peoples cars let alone reverse into them and tell the driver that they are making a fuss out of nothing - usually I would have gone bonkers at her but I just couldn't muster up the energy!!

  4. Sent boss to airport with no plane tickets - he still away which is good cause I will probably be sacked by the timje he gets back!!

This stupidness kicked in at about 7 months last time - why me why now so early!!

Twinkie · 25/03/2004 12:43

Oh it is Baby Tales day on Discovery Health today (they have changed the channel for sky viewers to 154 by the way!) - Baby Tales all day - at the moment is a beatuoiful lady called claire and her sports instructors hubbie - they look so happy bless them!!

bunny2 · 25/03/2004 18:19

Ive been watching those Baby Tales all day curled up on the sofa with a huge Toblerone and a copy of Now. Ds is with my parents for the day and I have done bugger all. Those programmes keep setting me off though, I've sobbed all over my magazine.

eidsvold · 25/03/2004 19:45

oh bunny - half your luck - looking forward to end of term break where I will have some days I can put dd into nursery and just catch up on sleep and bit and pieces... although we have a few hopsital and specialist teacher appointments..... still wondering if I will survive without puking in front of some poor class - so far so good - keep meaning to get some biscuits I can keep in my desk.

Again no word from the hospital - very annoyed though - spent the day on and off trying to call the antenatal clinic using the phone number on their website - wrong phone number - no wonder no one answered.... got home and checked dd's appt card ( same hopsital) only to apologise mentally for all the horrid things I was saying about hospital receptionists

collision · 25/03/2004 19:52

Hi Bunny...glad you are feeling OK. My due date is 23 Nov. How old is your ds?

Been feeling a bit crampy today and was a bit worried and told dh I would only go to the hosp if I started bleeding. Then I wondered if it was the cannellini beans I had today and think it might be wind!! Terrific.

eidsvold · 26/03/2004 18:45

hope all is well collision.

Have found out why no appointment. Called the hospital today to be told by snippy receptionist that they don't scan before 12 - 13 weeks and unless the GP wanted to pay for the early scan and referred me to the Early Pregnancy Unit then nothing would happen until 12 - 13 weeks. ( as if I should know this anyway?!?!?!) Mmmm looking forward to meeting her when I have my scan at 12 - 13 weeks.....

Anyone used those sea sickness bands - thinking about trying them - sick of feeling sick ....

jellycat · 26/03/2004 19:20

eidsvold, mears said she tried the bands for morning sickness (see other thread - I see you have posted on it so you probably already know). I tried them once for sea sickness but I can't say whether or not they actually helped - I felt sick but wasn't actually sick and it was pretty rough though. Sorry, I know that's not much help, but FWIW if I were you I'd give them a try.

Saw the doctor yesterday and have a booking in appointment at the end of April. Still feeling anxious but my boobs have suddenly swollen over the last 2 days and I look like I've had a major boob job, so that can only be good

bunny2 · 27/03/2004 19:38

How's everyone? Eidsvold, hope the sickness isnt getting worse. No symptoms for me yet.

collision · 27/03/2004 20:37

Hi everyone on this thread. All is good here but good grief, it is longwinded being PG in Europe! We went to the doctor and we have to have the PG confirmed by the nurse at the clinic. On Monday we have to go to the clinic to register and to have a label made for my urine sample! On Tues I have to take my urine sample to be tested! There is no way it is possible to take the urine and have the label made on the same day!! They like to make work for themselves here.

No sickness yet thank goodness. Boobs are huge!

bunny2 · 28/03/2004 18:46

Collision, that sounds like a nightmare, when we lived in Spain we had hassle with car tax, local rates, everything really, it was so beaurocratic, it drove me mad. LAbels for urine? why not write your name on the pot??

My tummy is already big (I think it always was but I dont bother holding it in any more). Big boobs too, very tired, sore eyes (have to keep taking my contact lenses out) and really hungry. No sickness yet though.

eidsvold · 28/03/2004 19:57

strangely no sickness today - although have basically been grazing all day

Twinkie · 29/03/2004 10:43

Does anyone else have really painful boobs - I keep getting pains shooting through them - they have got bigger and really hard and I can't remember this happening with DD this early??

(Can't believe how many of us there are on here already! )

eidsvold · 29/03/2004 12:39

guess what - sickness back lucky me

collision · 29/03/2004 12:42

Eidsvold....try malted milk biscuits! Ginger never did anything for me last time but mm biscuits were marvellous. Might have to ask you all to send me packets of them as they dont make them here!!

Mum2Ela · 29/03/2004 12:46

Morning everyone! Glad you are all well - (&being sick!).

I am feeling fine albeit a bit tired. Went to the rugby in hospitality Saturday and so had to eat 2x 3-course meals in a day! Am going to be huuuggge!

I have my 2nd scan tomorrow so, fingers crossed, all will be ok.

x

jellycat · 29/03/2004 13:35

Mum2Ela, good luck for tomorrow.

Twinkie, my boobs are already much bigger and harder. They are a bit sore and occasionally I get shooting pains and they are very itchy too. And I am a few weeks behind you, I think.

Still no more symptoms yet for me, I'm not even particularly tired.

bunny2 · 29/03/2004 19:56

M2E, goood luck tomorrow.

Still no symptoms but my jeans are getting tighter

eidsvold · 29/03/2004 20:21

hope all goes well m2e. pout how come my boobs aren't any bigger - a little sorer and no tightening of clothes even though I am sure I have been eating much more... thanks you guys - I think you are all getting my share of that and I get the puking - well thanks a lot (just a joke)
