I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Mum2Ela - If you were 5wks on Tuesday the your due date is about 16th Nov.

Congratulations all you November Mums2Be!! This thread is certainly filling up nicely.

collision · 19/03/2004 13:34

I am the same.....constantly feel sick but not puked. Only 8 months to go........!!!!

collision · 19/03/2004 13:36

Bunny.......how are you?

eidsvold · 19/03/2004 18:34

being a teacher I can't help but take a register..

me - eidsvold - due nov 11
twinkie - due Nov 14
collision - ?
Mum2Ela 16 Nov
webmum - ?
chicaguapa - 11 Nov
PandaBear - 10 Nov
vivie - 11 Nov ?

So will we have a guess who we think might be first?!?!?!

and then we can check back in Nov?!?!?

Not sure whether I am looking forward to the end of the pregnancy as Australia has been having long hot summers ( starting in Sept - although the height of the heat is usually Jan and the little mite will be out by then , thank goodness) - the bonus - if this one is also a girl - she can use dd's clothes even though they will be August and Novemebr babies.

collision · 19/03/2004 18:40

My due date is 23 Nov. Had an idea. If I have a boy I can use all ds's clothes but if I have a girl then I need some girlie clothes so maybe somewhere we could do a swap and if you have a boy then i will send you my clothes and vice versa! Only have to pay postage!

eidsvold · 19/03/2004 18:57

but I will be in Australia by then Collision..

eidsvold · 19/03/2004 18:58

not sure whether I will be shipping the clothes or not - but will let you know.. might be leaving them here for PIL to bring them over.

collision · 19/03/2004 19:03

yeah..but I'm in Italy so it is almost the same!!

collision · 19/03/2004 19:21

Jellycat.......where are you? You should be on this thread now? What is your due date?

eidsvold · 22/03/2004 08:08

anyone progressed from nausea to puking - looks like my least favourite aspect of pregnancy has started. I really do not do vomiting if that makes sense... and finally it has started!!! Great start to the day - thank goodness I have a large black plastic bin and binliner in my classroom should the need arise - the loos are just a bit too far away to make it I suspect... oh well will have to wait and see for that one

Twinkie · 22/03/2004 10:48

Was fun trying to hide the fact that everything there was to eat at DPs parents house made me wretch yesterday - people who stink of smoke on the train/bus in the morning also make me want to shout at them that they are bloody unfeeling - mind you that was me a few short months ago!!

Have you told people yet?? I have had to ie to lots of people and we are out to dinner on Friday night and I sooo don't want the woman we are going out with to know but an terrified she will guess - may try saying I can't drink cause I am on antibiotics for my stomach swelling parasite!!

PandaBear · 22/03/2004 13:19

Hi All, well what a weekend!! Started spotting on Saturday morning and by the evening it had progressed to bleeding. Was very worried so DH ran me to A&E. Result of tests were that I had to wait until this morning to go back in, and have a scan to see if I was misscarrying. Results are that all looks normal so far. They could see the pregnancy sac and the yolk sac, but couldn't see baby. But they said they wouldn't really expect to at this stage. I have to go back in 2 weeks to make sure everything is ok. Fingers crossed for me, please!!

Hope everyone else is ok.

bunny2 · 22/03/2004 13:35

Hello, I thought I'd tentatively join this thread, my date is 27 Nov and I am a nervous wreck as both my last 2 pgs ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. But, for now, I am pregnant I have had blood tests done at the hospital and my hcg levels are rising, just go to hope they continue like that for the next 8 months.

Pandabear, that sounds terrifying. I am obsessed with bleeding and spotting and have done loads of googling about it. It is so normal, apparently up to 50% of women will have it. I know how awful it is when it happens to you though. IF everything is still intact I am sure you'll be fine. Take it as a good excuse for putting your feet up and doing as little as possible.

vivie · 22/03/2004 14:19

Congratulations bunny2! I miscarried my 1st pg at 12 weeks so I'm pretty nervous, but probably not as nervous as you are. I hope you are managing to stay calm.
PandaBear - I hope you'll be okay. My fingers are firmly crossed for you.
eidsvold - when's your scan?
I've been feeling sick too, but no actual puking yet. The triggers have been cigarette smoke and ds's nappies! I can mostly avoid smoke, but nappies are going to be a problem! I also find travelling in a car, even if I'm driving, a problem. Still, one of my friends had terrible sickness for the whole of her pregnancy - sick every 45 mins for the whole 9 months - that anything I have is insignificant compared to that.
Keep well everyone xx

Twinkie · 22/03/2004 14:40

Pandabear - really sending you all my love and crossing fingers and legs and everything I can for you XXX

Bunny2 - hoorah for you - am soooo pleased for you Honey - was just waiting for your name to appear.

Just been out to lunch with DP and he wanted Pizza -it stank of smelly chedder (when will they realise not to put bloody chedder on Pizzas!!) - the heave factor was the greatest so far!!

I was never sick with DD though - does that mean I won't be with this one or are they never the same???

Ooooh and have you told anyone - thats to everyone?? My best friend knows and you lot and DP but no one else!!

eidsvold · 22/03/2004 16:02

told immediate family and some very close friends - a couple of work colleagues who may need to step in at short notice and take my class if I need to be out puking Bit different as we leave all our friends here in 73 days so I wanted those who had supported us through some terrible times to be able to enjoy this one with us - iykwim

Sorry to hear about your worry Panda Bear - I had that with last pregnancy and was also sent for a scan - all was well. Sometimes you can have what is called an implantation bleed..... not really to worry about - easier said than done though!! Fingers crossed.....

still waiting to hear from the hsopital re: scan date.... although the GP wanted an early one so in the next couple of weeks I assume.... just imagine getting home and being told it is the next day. Mad panic trying to organise work for classes etc....

Twinkie - i think they might be different - with dd - one puke in the morning - fine all day ... this time - seems if I don't eat every couple of hours - the old nausea rears its ugly head.

bunny2 · 22/03/2004 20:10

Thanks, Twinkie and Vivie, for your messages, it's good to be here.

I have only told my parents and my brother, dh told his mother and her reply was "well, fingers crossed but I wont get too excited .. " silly cow, what a response.

Anyway, I dont feel sick at all but I am only 5 weeks. I want it to kick in so I stop craving a big glass of wine.

More blood tests tomorrw, I am black and blue, it is usually 3 or 4 attempts before they can find a vein and I hate needles.

eidsvold · 23/03/2004 06:36

bunny - sorry to hear about the blood tests and the mil.... my mum was a classic - when I was pregnant with dd and told her - her first words were OH NO!!! granted dh and I had only been married a couple of months... she then covered it by saying that she felt we should have been married longer before we got pregnant. This time she thought carefully before replying and then commented how I was just like my bro and sil - their first is two months older than dd and the next one is due this june.....

handlemecarefully · 23/03/2004 10:59

Bunny2,

Just popping in from the April thread (where Fennel mentioned that you were pregnant) to wish you all the very best for this pregnancy.

Everything crossed for you

collision · 23/03/2004 13:20

Oh Panda......hope everything is Ok. It must be very scary.
Bunny......we are due at the same time and I really hope everything works well for you. Fingers crossed.

Havent told anyone yet as Im only 6 weeks from the date of my last period so it doesnt feel real yet. We went to the doctors this morning and she asked if we were happy or did we want to discontinue the pregnancy?? How odd!! we told her we were very happy and that it was planned and she said that was because I am British and the Brits always plan everything well. How odd again!!

I get to have 3 scans and have to do an official pregnancy test, unlike the UK where they take your word for it. Because of my pre-eclampsia last time, when ds was 5 weeks early, they will keep an extra eye on me. I have to watch my weight and avoid salt and have my bp taken every fortnight.

Next time I go I want to ask about pain relief as I have heard some very scary stories about them not letting you have any and last time I HAD to have an epidural cos of my BP. Bit scared.

Hope everyone is feeling well.

eidsvold · 23/03/2004 19:29

Just curious - anyone else on second or beyond and already finding this pregnancy different to the other/s? I am more naseauous (?) and vomiting more already?!?!?!

eidsvold · 23/03/2004 19:31

oh and the students who try to hide cigarette smoke with lashing of perfume are making me really want to puke - have to ask them to stand away from me

collision · 23/03/2004 19:33

Funnily enough my dh said today that I seem better with this one than the last. Im very early on though and things are bound to get worse though I think I played up more the first time to get more sympathy! Perfumes and sprays are making me gag but no sickness yet.

vivie · 23/03/2004 20:28

PandaBear - how are you?
eidsvold, this pg seems v. similiar to last time although it's v.early days yet. About the same amount of nausea so far anyway. The biggest difference is that I don't get time to sit around dreaming about what this baby will be like - ds is a v. active 16 month old! Changing nappies with morning sickness is just awful. Ds has a bit of a bug and his nappies have been hideous this week - does anyone know what I mean if I say 'poo shorts'?! yuck yuck yuck!!!
bunny2 - shame about your mil's response. Not exactly helpful. I trust your dh is being more supportive.
I've told quite a lot of my friends that I'm pg, and my family. I figured that if something awful happens I'll be glad of their support, and several people have offered to look after ds if I feel too sick or just need a break. I'm very lucky to have such a good circle of friends.
Hope you're all well.

bunny2 · 23/03/2004 22:11

Hi, no symptoms yet but I am only 5.1. Collision, what is your due date?

I have 2 scans arranged for next week, one at the Early Pregnancy Unit and one at the fertility clinic, hate scans (the worst 2 moments of my life have been during a scan) but am really looking forward to some reassurance that everything is ok.

HMC, thankyou
