I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Hi Everyone,
Twinkie, your boobs sound v sexy - you lucky thing
My tum's definitely bigger, but feels hard rather than just flabby (altho it is fairly flabby). It's one of the things that told me I was pg before I confirmed with a test. I was in maternity clothes at 15 weeks last time so I'll probably be digging them out again by next week. I like the sound of pucci maternity dresses but I think I'll wait until the all-important forst 12 weeks are up before I spend any money.

eidsvold · 13/03/2004 18:39

I recently got rid of some very good maternity clothes that I wore last time figuring there was no point in taking them to Australia....Figured when I got pregnant next time I would be in Aus and could buy them then.

All I have sent to Aus is two dresses - casual and comfy that I could not live without. Figure I will buy some autumn/winter clothes during the sale and buy some summer clothes just before I go. ( shorts and shirts for bumming around the house in summer - if the last two summers are anything to go by!!)

Mum2Ela · 15/03/2004 10:16

Hi everyone. How are you all today?

Twinkie - I have the nipple problem all the time, not only when I am PG! My boobs are getting a but bigger. They are 32D at the mo and went up to 36D+ during my first pregnancy. I had boobs to rival Jordan!!

Well I have been spotting over the weekend (same as last weekend - browny type discharge) but had cramps -like period pains - to go with it. So I am off to the docs at lunch time to see what he says. I rang the Early Pregnancy Unit as the hospital but they couldn't do anything with me as I haven't been booked in with a midwife yet. I will try and get on-line later today to let you all know how it goes but my laptop at home has packed in (typical!) and at the mo am on the computer at the gym.

Good luck Mum2Ela - I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on!

Twinkie · 15/03/2004 10:59

Good luck Mum2Ela - Hope your fears are quashed - I am sure everything will be ok - could it be implantation bleeding??

I have bought myself 5 new padded bras to hide the nipple thing - hoorah look less like a complete hooker today!!

Twinkie · 15/03/2004 15:32

How did it go Mum2Ela???

Hope you are ok. XXX

eidsvold · 15/03/2004 18:24

thinking of you mum2Ela - hope all is well.

vivie · 15/03/2004 20:25

I've my fingers crossed for you Mum2Ela - let us know how you are as soon as you can.

beansprout · 16/03/2004 09:45

Mum2Ela - Just popped over from the October strand to say I really hope everything is ok for you. I had the same thing last weekend and know how worrying it can be xxx

PandaBear · 16/03/2004 10:19

Just been to the doctors to tell them I am pregnant. I've got to go for my booking in appointment with the MW this week - they are already concerned because I have high blood pressure problems.

Still, at least I get special attention I suppose!! With DD it meant I got loads more scans, I'm hoping the same is true this time. Hope everyone is OK and not feeling too exhausted!

Twinkie · 16/03/2004 10:26

Do we have to go for booking in this early - when I had DD they told me to go away and come back later!!

eidsvold · 16/03/2004 12:15

Twinkie - my booking appointment is not for another three weeks. If that is any help.. also to fit in with easter holidays. However I am being sent for an early scan - in the next couple of weeks.

vivie · 16/03/2004 13:52

My booking appt is next week which I think is probably quite early but I wanted it sooner rather than later. I miscarried before I was pg with ds and I'm v nervous about it happening again. Last time my mw arranged for me to have an early scan to see if baby was okay (and he was) so maybe she'll do so again this time - but I'm not nearly such a nervous wreck this time and as I'll have to find childcare if I have the scan I might just not make as much fuss. Honestly I feel slightly guilty that I haven't thought about this baby nearly as much as I did when I was pg with ds - there just isn't time!
Is anyone feeling sick? I had that weird heightened sense of smell thing this morning - all I could smell was glossy magazine paper (not a smell I normally notice!) and it was making me feel quite odd. Isn't pregnancy weird?!
Good luck with your scan eidsvold. What will they/you be looking for? Hope Mum2Ela's okay.

Twinkie · 16/03/2004 14:10

Sickness has hit - funnily enough it hits about 8/9ish at night or in the morning standing no a hot train - DP reckons I go slightly green!! Its horrid though never had this at all with DD!!

PandaBear · 16/03/2004 17:22

Yep - my booking appointment is early. I think the reason is that they want/need to monitor my blood pressure from early on, and perhaps refer to an obstetrician if they think that's needed. All seems a bit of an unnecessary worry to me, last time I was pg my blood pressure improved!!

eidsvold · 16/03/2004 18:08

the GP ( not my GP) thought I needed an early viability scan as I had some bleeding at around 7 weeks last time with dd - I think caused by whatever - possibly an implantation bleed ( nothing to worry about) Last time the GP ( previous doctor's) said he was sending me for a scan as the same thing had happened to his wife the week before and they felt reassured by a scan. He thinks I should have another early scan so I am just waiting to hear form the hopsital.

PandaBear - my blood pressure improved whilst I was pregnant last time too

No sickness yet - just tired and grumpy - shouted at a stupid man that almost ran into me as he wanted to drive the wrong way down the supermarket lane ( up lane and he could not be bothered to follow the arrows and go around the signed way) So I ranted at him and called him an illiterate idiot!!! Have that horrid taste in my mouth though.. so suspect illness may not be far behind..... ( hope not)

smellymelly · 16/03/2004 18:25

Hi mum2ela, Can't believe I've only just found out you hit the jackpot, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
All that sex must have paid off.

vivie · 16/03/2004 19:20

Twinkie, my mum says she had her worst sickness in the evenings when she was tired and she says the best thing for it was a HUGE jam buttie with loads of butter Hope it's not too awful.

Mum2Ela · 16/03/2004 19:30

Hi everyone. Bloody typical time for my laptop to pack in on me.

Went to docs yesterday who arranged for an early scan today. Went for that and they dated me as being 'less than 6 weeks' and so they really couldn't see very much, just the sac and a yolk, which means a pregnancy is there. I will have to go back in 2 weeks when they will be able to see more. The spotting is still kinda there - still the same 'old blood' which I think is a good thing.

I want to get excited about the pregnancy but at the same time I want to think the worst so that if the worst happens it won't be so bad. Does that make sense? I bled like this with DD for about 6 weeks, from 12 weeks onwards. I think everything will be ok, but we will have to wait and see. Its funny, but I already feel like I have been PG for a lifetime. I can't believe I am less than 6 weeks.

BTW, say I am 5 weeks, does anyone know what my EDD will be?

Thanks everyone for your warm wishes. I am glad you are all doing well - I have had no sickness yet, but then I didn't with DD.

Doc has told me to take it easy so I won't be going into work this week, and DH is just being brilliant, taking DD out in the evenings for a couple of hours so I can 'rest' (ie. watch tv!).

chicaguapa · 16/03/2004 23:21

Well I'm 6 weeks today and EDD is 11th November. But I have a 24 day cycle. Check out the ivillage calculator and you can print off a monthly calendar too.

collision · 17/03/2004 13:13

Hello. I can join you all here now. Found out I was PG this morning and according to my dates am due on 23 November. Feel VERY sick but v happy and DH is over the moon.

PandaBear · 17/03/2004 13:24

Hi Collision and welcome. Looks like November is going to be a busy month!!!!

eidsvold · 18/03/2004 18:44

at the moment i am starving all the time - particularly wanting bacon butties for elevens...... with tomato sauce of course.....

so far a little nausea but no puking!!!

PandaBear · 19/03/2004 13:29

Hi Eidsvold - you sound just like me, in fact I really had to fight the urge to buy a bacon sarnie this morning. As for the sickness thing, I'm the same, I constantly feel nauseaus but have never yet actually chundered! Hope it stays that way, I'm not good at being sick! Hope everyone is OK - it's been very quiet here lately.

vivie · 19/03/2004 13:29

Congratulations collision!
