I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Well i dont know if any of you saw my thread about bleeding, well i had a bit more so i finally got to see a midwife and was able to listen to the heartbeat for the first time
She thinks its cervical erosion and I am to regularly have this done as a precaution. I also has my scan last friday and it was vry clear when it finally stopped flipping itself over. Now I'm off to bed as my typing is beginningt o look more like swahili than english
hi to all

Plantpot, my friend said she felt a bit grotty from the fasting before the test but fine once she'd had the sugary drink. She got the results within a few minutes of the end of the test. She was fine, but she said if she hadn't been they would have sent the results to the antenatal clinic and she would have had to stay longer and go and talk to someone else (presumably about what treatment would be required).

Bronze, glad everything was OK.

bunny2 · 26/05/2004 20:17

Hi Bronze, Im glad all is ok. The midwife suggested I might have cervical erosion too as I am still bleeding, almost dailiy now but only a little. It is worrying isnt it?

Well my scan showed the baby is right on target size-wise. Unfortunately my determination to see the nasal bone was flummoxed by the doctors lack of expertise and some crappy old equipment. So now I'll not be able to find anything out till 18 weeks, how frustrating. I am sure everything is ok though, feel quite positve today

PandaBear · 27/05/2004 08:48

HI All - not posted for a while but have been popping in to see how everyone is getting on. Does anyone else feel like their stomach has suddenly grown overnight? Last week I fit nicely into my pre-pregnant clothes - this week, another inch in the waist band and they may have done up!!!! Oh well, maternity clothes here I come.

webmum · 27/05/2004 09:48

can anyone feel their babies yet?

I can feel a few flutters, but that's all.

OP posts:
plantpot · 27/05/2004 10:10

nope not yet how far along are you ?

webmum · 27/05/2004 10:14

I'm 17 weeks +.

The midwife has started asking if I was feeling anything since I was 13 weeks!!!

Mum2Ela · 27/05/2004 10:27

I started feeling a couple of flutters at 14 weeks, but only in the morning when I had been laying down all night and so there was very clearly a bump on one side of my belly, which moved across it! Am 15+4 now.

gingernut · 27/05/2004 10:51

yes, I thought I felt some flutters at 12 weeks. Now 14 weeks and I'm still feeling vague flutters but I keep wondering if it's just wind! I only feel them when I'm lying still in bed at night. I didn't feel ds until about 21 weeks so I was a bit surprised to feel this one...I think that's why I can't quite believe it.

PandaBear, my belly has suddenly popped out too. I gave up on my normal jeans when I was just over 12 weeks and I'm now wearing some elasticated waist trousers I bought for the early stages last time. Trying to avoid proper maternity clothes for now because all the extra material makes me look as though I'm 6 months gone!

plantpot · 27/05/2004 11:07

im just over 15 weeks and havent felt any yet but then again lets just say im well padded round the middle he he

Bronze · 27/05/2004 14:09

I'm just over 14 weeks and I can feel movement if I press. I also get that fluttering feeling a bit like wind moving through your digestive system. They say if you've had a baby before then you're likely to feel them from 14 weeks onwards. While trying to see if I could feel the baby I discovered that I couldnt find my own pulse at all which was slightly worring but I'm quite sure I'm alive. I'm just feeling frumpy no bump just getting a spare tyre
Glad everyone seems ok

I am 14.2 and have felt a few flutters, still not convinced it's the baby though. Today 2 people have commented I look pregnant, hooray no more of the "who ate all the pies?" comments.

Samcj · 27/05/2004 21:49

Thought I felt very distinctive movements at twelve weeks, literally my tummy was bouncing up and down!! Happened a few times over a few days.
Occaisionally feel little flutters but I'm not too sure it's not just wind either! Have written off the twelve week thing as only wind, after worrying for a few days that I wasn't feeling anything anymore! What am I like?!!
No bump. My tummy has just gone hard, and slightly slightly raised. Willing it on, but I know that it will be so cumbersome with the job I do that I should be grateful for how I am!
Whine over! Hope you are all ok!

vivie · 27/05/2004 22:44

okay, I'm officially on maternity clothes. It had to happen sooner or later.... Strange that my boobs haven't changed in size, but my bump seems enormous. I thought I felt a baby kick a week or two ago, but dismissed it as wind, but I definitely felt movements yesterday and have been feeling lots today. I first felt ds at 20 weeks (am now 15) so I'm amazed I'm feeling this one so early. Do you think it means this baby's going to be more active? I love feeling the baby move inside me, it's lovely to never be alone....

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 09:24

Hi All.

Bunny so glad you are a bit reassured by your scan - I was thnking of you all day yesterday but couldn't log on!!

Felt baby move for the first time last night and am exactly 16 weeks!!

bunny2 · 28/05/2004 18:20

Thanks Twinkie . Yes, I am enjoying my pregnancy now. I feel all will be ok and if not, then we will deal with it when the time comes. Until then I shall enjoy being fat and pregnant!! How are you?

Samcj · 28/05/2004 21:54

Hi all!
I have suddenly felt this week my energy levels and sleep patterns are back to normal. Still feel dizzier than normal (if that was ever possible!!) but feel healthy and have started eating like a fat pig!!
With regard to bumps, just saw myself in the mirror and my tummy looks huge!!! But (time for my stupid question of the day!!) it looks like I have just got a big gut!! Put so nicely I know! Everything kind of joins in if you see what I mean! Can I have honest opinions about whether I have just been pigging out too much (mmm chocolate, ice cream!!!!)or is this the start of my bump for the next six months?!! Bit hard to tell if you can't see. Have trained DP to agree with whatever I ask with the baby stuff(he finds it safer that way!) which means he won't really tell me!

Samcj · 28/05/2004 21:55

Oh, dizzier in a ditsy way.

eidsvold · 30/05/2004 08:13

managed to get the inlaws hooked up before we head off - glad to read all is going well. I too just have a large stomach - looking fattish rather than pregnant but last time round - I just got rounder rather than the large protruding pregnant football sort of look.

have been feeling flutters and movements for a week or so now - am 17 weeks and a few days.

vivie - i have been told you feel subsequent babies earlier than the first - if that is any consolation.

thank you all for your good wishes too. We head off on Thursday - finished work on Friday - last day of teaching FOREVER

take care

libb · 30/05/2004 22:05

Hi Samcj (please can everyone else forgive me for hijacking the thread?),

Glad you got some helpful answers on your thread about names - and then mine! I forget, how many weeks are you now? This stage seems like a hazy memory to me now. You will be amazed how time flies.

Thanks for asking about Reuben, he's ace! I have been very lucky and am now back to pre-preggars weight (not bad for two weeks!) but I recall it was around this time things started to pop out a bit for me - luckily the painful boobs had gone by then so it was nice just to see the bump grow - just make sure you record it. I hate having my picture taken so there are only 2 in existence!

Thanks for letting me jump in everyone, take care of yourselves and enjoy your growing bumps! Lots of love to you all xxx

Samcj · 30/05/2004 22:23

I'm nearly 15 weeks. Feels like it's not long to go but I know that thats just crazy! It's six long, slow months! Wow, how the hell did you get back in shape SO quickly? Not even the celebs with all thier money and fitness trainers manage it that quick!! Well I've been eating for at least three in the past week, maybe I've been doing it on your behalf!! Well done! You seem to have done so well with everything, short labour, home quickly and now no baby weight!
Never thought about having photos done of it, hate having mine taken too, there are only about three of me in the ones from our two week holiday! Might have them done of the bump and literally nothing else!! Have to prove that it's me somehow though!!
rambling as usual, DP is out on his third night shift and it's been my weekend off, boring boring boring!! Then he's off and I'm back to work! Both work long shifts so quite literally have not seen him for more than an hour in two weeks! Never mind. So nice to hear from you Libb, although you are setting too many good precedants that people like me just won't be able to follow!!

libb · 30/05/2004 22:31

Wotsits I am! I have had the hormonal moments and DP has had the subsequent hissy fits! I also wouldn't get too excited about my pre-greggars weight, I wasn't dinky to start with! But I guess I have been lucky so won't take it for granted . . .

Don't underestimate the 6 months - they do fly by! sounds like things are going brilliantly for you xxxxxxx

Bronze · 01/06/2004 14:19

My update.
Well I had my first night off in 14 months at the weekend when my husban took me away for the night while my inlaws had ds1. It was bliss.
I came back to find a letter saying my blood sugar levels are really high and that I've got to go in for a test on thursday. I'm dreading it as I'm sick if I dont eat and I've been avoiding sugar as it makes me feel ill but I've got to drink this glucose drink on an empty stomach. While keeping a 14 month old amused as I cant leave the hospital for two hours. At least this may explain why I'm still feeling awful
