Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

hi all, have been a bit quiet as nothing to report which is good...now have huge bump at 23 weeks. Headaches have gone as have most other symptoms so am trying to enjoy the middle months. Am enjoying windowshopping for baby things but am supersticious so cannot bring myself to actually buy anything but am having fun making lists for afterwards.
DS is so excited and keeps kissing my tummy which is lovely. He also likes to wash my tummy when we are in the shower together (am sure soical services wouldn't approve) but he thinks he is washing the baby and he talks to him at teh same time. He lifts my t-shirt when he gets home from nursery and tells the baby all about his day....
Keep well everybody

Hi to all mums to be. I am due on the 10th August and i am so far having a really bad pregnancy. Not that I really have anything to compare to as it is my first! I have had the sickness with food poisoning in the middle of all that. I have felt physically shattered 24/7 and now my legs have swelled, so really I can't wait to get the little darling out! really excited about that bit!!

Toothache · 17/04/2004 15:28

Hi all,
Just been discharged from hospital after suspected early labour. Luckily it doesn't seem to have been that. I've had 2 horrible internals.... blood tests..... now on a large dose of AB's..... feeling sore and sorry for myself.
In case you haven't seen my other thread I started having severe cramps yesterday morning at work. At 1pm they were every 4mins. The hospital sent me an ambulance and I was taken to the Labour suite. All very scary and upsetting. I have a scan on Wednesday to try to find out whats going on. Will keep you all updated.

Toothache · 17/04/2004 15:55

Should've added that throughout this whole thing the baby has been kicking away and it's heartbeat has been nice and strong.... something positive!

sweetkitty · 18/04/2004 19:30

welcome bambino sorry to hear your having such a rough time of it - hopefully it will get a bit easier for you.

m2t/toothache - so sorry to hear about your suspected early labout must have been so so scary for you. You are not having the best of times right now. I hope things settle down now. (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))

littlerach · 18/04/2004 19:45

Hugs to you, M2t, hope you are feeling better soon.xx

sibble · 19/04/2004 05:44

Thanks for your thoughts and best wishes everyone. I'm at work today, but just at the local site office near my home. Not really doing much. My boss seems to have realised that I'm not exaggerating my health concerns and has agreed to let me work from the local office until my Mat Leave. Don't have anything in writing yet though.

I've had no other pains, thankfully, and the baby is still as active as ever!! I keep telling him/her to hold off for at least another 12wks before making an appearance. That would take me to 36/37wks. I don't think this baby is in here for the long haul!

I'll be sure to let you all know on Wednesday how my scan goes.

Hope everyone is doing good.... nearly into the 3rd Trimester already!

Lolabelle · 19/04/2004 14:09

Hi I am due on 31st August/1st September so i started joining in on the September thread as i am sure my estimation (1st Sept) is more correct! Anyway the reason I need your ladies advice is that you are probably a week or two ahead of me and I am really worried as i am 21 weeks and i have felt absolutely nothing in regards to a kick or even a flutter. I am showing quite heavily and i am therefore worried but want your advice as all teh mags say from 17 weeks onwards i should feel something and i am getting all worked up! PLUS I have gained 16 pounds and although the majority was in the first 4 months as i overate and have slowed down now i wondered if anyone else finds this an OTT amount by by stage as teh mags suggest for my previous build not to gain much more than another 9 pounds until the birth date!!

Help - I'm obviously more worried about the kicking but i'd be curious to hear some feedback on all your weight gain as i am not sure if these pregnancy mags are a reflection of the average woman...definitely cut out all chocoalte in the meantime though!!

Toothache · 19/04/2004 14:34

Lolabelle - I wouldn't worry too much. Is this your 1st? I think it's quite common to not feel movements with your 1st until much later on. Plus it could be the position of the placenta is cushioning some of the movements. Have you had a scan yet? Have they listened to the foetal heartbeat? I'm sure your little one is just biding his/her time.... you'll go from nothing at all to big kicks all in one week!

As for weight.... don't even GO there! I put on 9lbs in the 1st 9wks and haven't weighed myself since. We don't get weighed here as part of our antenatal care as the Midwives and GP's think it's irrelevant information and it can fluctuate so much too. I gained 2.5 stone with my ds and after he was born I only dropped a stone of that. So I've stayed 1.5 stone overweight ever since. This time I don't care.... I'll make a big effort to lose it afterwards, but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy eating whatever I like.

SpringChicken · 19/04/2004 15:41

Toothache - glad you are feeling better today - must've been absolutely terrifying for you !!
Going by recent events, think you should lock yourself in a cushioned room and not leave until the baby has been born Only kidding.

Lollabelle - Do not panick about the lack of movement felt - i am 28+2 and only really started feeling movements about 6 weeks ago - when i asked about this the midwife said it was because the baby's back was against my tummy so all the kicks were aimed inward rather than outward IYSWIM. Kicking doesn't stop now, baby nearly got a telling off last night cos i an almight left hook in bed, it atually hurt!

If any of you have got a spare mo, can u have a quick look on July thread and help me out with my date problem - Thanks

sibble · 19/04/2004 20:16

hi Lolabelle, like others have said, it's not uncommon not to feel kicking when the text books say you will for many different reasons. As for the weight gain, last time with DS I put on 3.5 stones in total and trust me it wasn't all baby or fluid...I have no idea where it came from although mcD's and dairy milk may have had something to do with it!! I just think some people put on weight and others don't for some reason. I am small this time compared to last but am still the same size (bump wise) as a mum who gave birth last week.

Lolabelle · 20/04/2004 14:31

Well thank you all for your reassurance as I do tend to worry when everyone else acts shocked at my lack of movement - makes you start doubting everything is right but as its my 1st I am buond to worry more I guess! Had my 12 week scan but am not due for my next scan until 2 weeks time when i am 23 weeks gone so not long to go plus i bought a baby heart moniter from mothercare for £30 that i listen to nearly every night and the babys heart is going strong so that really helps put my mind at rest and i can highly reccommend buying one!

As for weight gain you have all made me feel much better a si don't look obese or anything a si was very slim before pregnnacy but because of that everyone was like 'i bet you become all bump and stya skinny elsewhere' etc etc ands i think i've surprised a few people with my newly roundeed fat arse and HUGE boobs to name but a few areas and i am gaining quite a bit at the back of my waist if that makes sense??!! Love handles i think they are better known as!! Just bought an all in one support slip though whihc incorporates a bra and is like a mini dress you wear under your normal dreesses and it firms and shapes and to be frank i am addicted, huge passion killer but thats irrelevant when your arse looks as firm as concrete in clothing!!!

Toothache · 21/04/2004 13:52

Well I had my scan this morning and everything was fine. In fact they didn't really know why I was there!!! I had another blood test as they had LOST my sample taken on Friday in the labour ward! Whhhhhhhat??

I have been feeling incredibly dizzy (like being drunk!) since yesterday evening and it's carried on all day today, so they want to check my Iron levels.

Anyone else feeling dizzy???

I asked the sex and she said she couldn't see.... but I think she was lying coz I got a clear view of the babies bum, crotch and legs....I definitely didn't see a willy... but then I again I could be totally wrong. Just have to wait and see.

oliveoil · 21/04/2004 15:33

Ooooh there are lots of new names on here, will have to scroll down properly to learn all about you all.

I am feeling v tired today as dd was stiring most of the night with toothache, bless her cute little self, so am bog-eyed and moody today. God help me with 2, must be mad.

My friend still has not had her baby but she was due yesterday so at least has gone to term, fingers crossed the baby is healthy.

Welcome to all the new people (I think you are new anyway,,,,,)

dinosaur · 21/04/2004 15:40

Hello oliveoil - I'm not new but anyway...

What are everyone's due dates? Mine is 2 August.

oliveoil · 21/04/2004 15:42

18 August I think mine is, seems way off but I am sure it will go quick.

I know you are not knew

oliveoil · 21/04/2004 15:42

new even. Told you I was tired.

sibble · 21/04/2004 21:15

toothache - glad the scan went well.

I was due on 10th Aug but they haev redated me to 11th for some reason!?!?!? hardly seems worth it but......

Am enjoying feeling really well at the moment, never felt well with DS so I am enjoying every minute. We are coming into autumn here in NZ and DS and I are having afternoon walks in wellies among the leaves etc. and it's nice to spend time with him without being psycho....

sweetkitty · 21/04/2004 21:59

25 weeks today - due 4th August.

Bit sad today as a woman I used to work with is 40 and preg with first baby and delighted but found out today she's lost it at 10 weeks. My boss told me and I managed not to cry in front of him. Makes you realise how lucky you are. Apart from that loads of people at work think I'm mad working up until 36 weeks but I thought this was normal. DP thinks I won't make it that long but I'll prove him wrong.

Oh another niggle seemed to have developed this painful stitch low down on my right hand side when I'm walking if I stop for a few minutes it goes away.

Toothache · 22/04/2004 09:21

Morning all.... I'm feeling MUCH better today. Finally!!! Let's hope it lasts a few weeks.

I'm due on 6th August, so I'll be 25wks tomorrow. Isn't time flying??? After all the trouble I've had I just keep telling myself that if I can get to 35 wks then I can relax a bit. That's only 10wks away! S'pose at some point I'd better start buying things for this child.

I have packed a bag just in case I end up in hospital again. My poor DH had a terrible time trying to find all the things I'd requested last Friday. This way he only has to collect a bag. It made it feel sooooooo close!

I think if nobody objects I might start a new thread as this has gotten MASSIVE and timeconsuming.... SO look out for the new one.

So glad you're feeling better Sibble.... long may it continue. We're just into Spring here, my favourite time of year.

oliveoil · 22/04/2004 09:34

Morning all.

Sweetkitty - I get that too but I usually walk too fast and I need to remind myself to slow down a bit. Sad about the woman at work , my friend lost a baby at around the same time in pregnancy too and it does make you think.

Sibble - where in NZ are you, v jealous it is a fantastic country.

Toothache - are you M2T in disguise?

My friend has her baby boy this morning and he was 6lb 1 so hopefully all is well.

Good idea on the new thread, I get lost on here now.

dinosaur · 22/04/2004 09:43

Toothache - good idea about new thread.

Sibble - sounds lovely!

sweetkitty - I get stitch as well...have done in all three pregnancies...
