Sorry to hear you've been sick but hope you get better soon poppy and louper and great to meet you louper, but you're putting me to shame about being active - I have been terrible but am now on a plan to get fitter from now on! (or at least until I'm too bigger)

Love the wallpaper ideas mrsmiggins
I'm thinking of some fun curtains and we went to john lewis on Saturday and picked out some samples - some very cute ones but my favourite was the winnie the pooh, of course it was the most expensive by far! Also thinking of sketching up large canvases for the walls or covering the canvses with a fun print as we'll be moving house in a few years and so may make the walls plain underneath... but may change my mind again soon!

MrsLister · 28/02/2012 14:25

Love that site for wall stickers mrsmiggins!!

I'll be bookmarking that one :)

Angel786 · 28/02/2012 15:59

Thanks all, feeling excited more than nervous / scared now! Mrsmiggins hope the appointment on Mon goes well! Was q relieved that they didn't talk me through the procedure in too much detail!

Vino I love theicandy!

And also love the bugaboo too...! I need to take a look at tandem type prams I think Hmm

Loving the nursery ideas! I was so lazy with dd I bought some winnie the pooh wall stickers on ebay but they were fab!

My bump is def picking up volume - will try and put a pic on my profile (have never done that before!).

Also - am feeling movements daily now, so exciting!

Welcome Luper

Bleugh. Bleugh. Bleugh.

I'm having one of those days. Work is poo and so is everything. Poo. Poo. Poo.

How are you all? I just ate some chocolate and it made me feel sick. It used to make me feel happy. I need to be happy.

Anyone have any jokes to cheer me up? Grin

Yours,

MoodyKnickers

Forgot to say a huge thanks to needles

Have also tried to set up a profile and save the bump picture... not sure it works tho!? Hmm

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 28/02/2012 16:31

Hey Frilly, I don't know any good jokes, sorry everything is poo. I feel a bit like that at the moment, especially about work, but I hope you find something to cheer yourself up.

I couldn't see the pic Angel, if anyone else has any pics on their profile, please let me know - I'm loving seeing pics of scans and bumps at the moment.. :)

Lovemarmite · 28/02/2012 16:37

Oh dear - Angel and Frilly, poo eh?

I'm thinking it will March in 2 days and the days are getting longer and the spring flowers are starting to come up...
sorry no jokes from me as I can never remember them but I found a really really terrible one that seemed silly for us:

Yo mama is so daft that when the nurse asked her if she was ready to deliver the baby she said whose baby is it and why do i have to deliver it to them.

Groan!!! okay that was truly terrible wasn't it

Lovemarmite · 28/02/2012 16:42

Okay that was so bad, here is another (maybe a bit better?) and then I promise I won't don my joke hat ever again!

The Sheer Nightgown

A husband walks into ? Victoria 's Secret? to purchase a sheer negligee for his wife. He is shown several possibilities that range from £250 to £500 in price - the more sheer, the higher the price. Naturally, he opts for the most sheer item, pays the £500, and takes it home. He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put it on, and model it forhim.

Upstairs the wife thinks (she's no dummy), "I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as well be nothing. I won't put it on but I'll do the modelling naked, return it tomorrow, and keep the £500 refund for myself."

She appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose.

The husband says, "Good Grief! You'd think for £500, they'd at least
iron it!"

0FrillyKnickers0 · 28/02/2012 16:59

Marmite, that made me laugh (both of them!)! Thank you!! Grin

Hi frilly (everyone else close your ears) I treated my ever patient DP to some romancing last night, i was nervous but it seemed pretty much business as usual. And he had been away for the weekend so I felt relaxed after two really good nights sleep on my own!
Hooray!
(ok everyone else can open their ears again now)
I had a blood test for DS last week they said I hear by phone this week if I am high risk ie high possibility or within two weeks by letter if ok, so bit of a praying and waiting game this week x x x

mancmummy · 28/02/2012 18:40

Hi everyone
I am 16+5 weeks and am due on 9th August, it is my 2nd baby although there is a massive age gap of 15 years. Feels like the first time as I have forgotten everything, would be nice to get to know other mums2b due around the same time. xxx

Hello again everyone. My boobs do seem to be bigger but bump goes up and down throughout the day depending on when I have eaten etc. Dh and I can't decide weather to find out the sex. Didn't last time! Tho am leaning towards finding out as if its a girl I can clear out all ds's old baby clothes well except the unisex stuff. As for the other sex. Want it and have been doing it but only seems to be a weekend thing as am too tired in the evenings in the week to do anything. Oh for the list I am 28 turning 29 in april and have a home birth in hastings, sussex. Well as long as all goes smoothly. (No reason for it not to) I'm having a hb. Think I might cry if there is some reason I can't as I have my heart set on it! Speak soon ladies

eightieshopaholic · 29/02/2012 07:28

Hello everyone, been feeling yuk!! sore throat and headache been in bed for 6.40pm the last two nights seems to be a little better today, still been to work get no credit for it though!! as for romantic nights what are they lol we both seem to crash out. I'm so nervous to buy things think will be ok when can feel icke one move in my head waiting for 20 wk scan am 16 4 today. Am i being silly waiting????

MrsLister · 29/02/2012 08:21

Hi eighties - I'm not buying anything for a good while yet. Apart from maternity clothes! I think it's a very personal choice so just do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Ladies re home birth - are you allowed to have your first baby at home? I love the idea although it also terrifies me!

The3Bears · 29/02/2012 10:19

Hi everyone, Hope your all well. I have my 16 week appt in a hour hoping i get to hear babys heartbeat. And last night dp actually talked about baby things for a good hour and we decided what furniture to get the baby, we werent going to get a new cot but we have both seen a lovely one so going to order that today and the mattress! Grin so excited my first big baby purchase. Dont know where were going to store it for the time being though Confused
MrsLister when I was pg with ds my midwife was encouraging me to have a homebirth aslong as you are low risk, you can. I was to worried though, but would love to this time but dp is not so keen :)

16+4 today!

Angel786 · 29/02/2012 10:21

Hope you feel better 80s. mrslister Yes you can, my friend was considering it for her first in march.

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 29/02/2012 10:34

Angel that is a very cute, and neat bump :o (is that an ok thing to say? Blush I'm not sure what the rules are yet?).

My dentist said I was at that stage where I just looked fat Blush Hmm

MrsL I was offered the choice of a home, birthing centre or hospital birth yesterday, and it's my first, so hopefully you'll be able to choose - I don't know if it's different for different areas?

Good luck 3bears hope you get to hear it :o

frilly 80s hope you feel better today.

Still waiting for the bloom
(17+4 Shock)

dragonleo · 29/02/2012 12:05

Hi everyone,
Haven't posted for ageees. Ended up in hospital on monday night with horrific stomach pain and vomiting. Got given iv fluids and antisickness meds. They reckon was a nasty norovirus going around. Still not eating so bit worried about the baby but from what i've read it shouldn't be affected.

I am planning on getting penguin wallpaper for the baby room! So cute but will wait a little nearer the time I reckon.

Have a definite bump now- but if I wear baggy clothes I just look fat so preferring more fitting tops.

Desperately awaiting some movement...

(17+5)

JParkson · 29/02/2012 12:19

Oh dear dragonleo how awful for you! Hope you're feeling much better. I think I had that over Xmas - Thanks for you x

I'm confused today Confused

I'm happily schlepping around in my maternity jeans, but I keep having to pull the damn things up! It was the same thing yesterday evening - I bought some maternity jean shorts from ebay, and I finally got my mitts on them yesterday. I have them all done up ridiculously tight, but still they're slipping down my hips...

Everything is a size 14... Surely I can't be a size 12?! I'm practically busting out of my old 16 jeans (non mat).

Maybe I'm at that "too fat for normal jeans, too skinny for maternity jeans" stage I saw on the BabyCentre app the other day :o

And to add insult to injury, I had a phonecall from the school this morning asking me to pick up DS, as he had a tummy ache. Sure enough, he did look green around the gills, and was clutching his belly tres convincingly. But now after an hour in bed, although he still looks pale, he has wolfed down his packed lunch and is bouncing round the front room making DD giggle... lovely, but annoying! You're supposed to be ill, dammit!!

therumoursaretrue · 29/02/2012 13:39

Hey everyone. Checking in after a few days away!

dragoleo sorry to hear you havn't been well, I'm sure that was horrible for you?

I am having a gross week altogether. GP appointment tomorrow as I need bloods checked, keep falling asleep at random times. I know tiredness is expected but this is another level altogether and was the norm for me even before I got pg so hoping to finally make some progress.

House hunt is at a total standstill...can't see anything suitable at all and I'm starting to worry nothing will ever come up!!:(

tashaw28 · 29/02/2012 13:55

Afternoon! So just picked up my maternity notes at the hosp and asked them to check heartbeat as I've only been feeling sporadic movements, and they actually said they won't see anyone under 16, I'm 15+4!!
Oh well! Also I have to meet with a consultant in 2 weeks as I had a csection last time as ds2 was breech, really can't be bothered to wait for an hour to meet someone for 2 mins, but apparently I have to!!!
Still got itchy shins and tummy, and sooooo tired all the time Sad
Anyone else itching??!!!

therumoursaretrue · 29/02/2012 14:05

I am itching like mad. I couldn't get any relief last night at all, could barely lie in bed it was so bad. Poor DP was up for work at 6.30 after me keeping him awake all night wriggling (good training for him I suppose!)

My boobs were putting me over the edge, but arms and face also itching like crazy too!
