Angel I have bump envy now!
I look as though 'who ate all the cheese?!' phase or is that because I've eaten a completely different diet for the past few months. I'm with you JParkson, I think my body shape is not yet maternity but just looking plumper!

Ordered a paid of cropped maternity jeans yesterday and hoping they'll make me look a little smarter for the Spring/summer. I'm living in yoga trousers that have a fold over waistband which are actually quite comfortable as the fold over part up is up over my belly. Off to Brighton tomorrow and may look at some baggier tunics as I'd love to get things that I can wear afterwards too.

Sorry to hear you've been really sick dragonleo hope you're improving!

Hi there mancmummy good to meet you.

For the itching I'm covering myself with a good body moisturiser and it seems to be working so far. It maybe expensive but REN is brilliant!

glittershoes · 29/02/2012 14:34

I am sooooo jealous of your bump Angel! Mine goes up and down but is not definitely there all the time!

Hope you are feeling better dragonleo (must have been terrifying) and Poppy.

I love those wall stickers and wall papers! I was thinking of an owl theme. I have no idea why though and will no doubt change my mind in a week or so!

I am totally over the packing at the moment, last night I did all my clothes which was hard enough but tonight I need to go through my bag and sniff shoes....

MrsL, talk to me about coconut oil and yoga! I want to start with something on my teeny bump but no idea what! I used to work for Mama Mio which is amazing and lovely stuff but a bit pricey! Does coconut oil have stretch mark preventing properties?

Also thinking of getting a prenatal yoga DVD, have you tried yours yet? Anyone got any they recommend?

Lovemarmite · 29/02/2012 15:03

Hi glittershoes
I bought the buddha bellies dvd and fully recommend it. The first section is for novices and late pregnancy and you get to really relax at the end (sleep!) and there's an intermediate section which gives more of a stretch.

I was given as a pressie the neals yard range of maternity creams - quite pricey, but really lovely smelling and there's a relaxing bath oil which is really good for dry skin too.

Poppy hope you're feeling better!

Lovemarmite · 29/02/2012 15:05

Buddha bellies

dragonleo · 29/02/2012 15:20

Thanks for your messages- definitely feeling better today. Even ate a bit of rice (exciting times)!
I have super itchy shins too but nowhere else weirdly.
SO bored of daytime tv- it sucks!
My maternity jeans are too big too- i got baxter ones from topshop in the same size as usual but they are huuuuuge. Hopefully they will come in handy in a few months...

0FrillyKnickers0 · 29/02/2012 15:42

Angel I am jealous :( Is this your first? How many weeks are you?

OP posts:
Angel786 · 29/02/2012 17:02

Hope you feel better dragon and rumours. Rumours I just woke up from a thirty min doze, am def way more tired this pg than the first. So much for infinite energy in the second trimester! Oh well, all good practice for feeling exhausted in five months time!

Re itchy skin, grist pg was v itchy just under my boobs above the tummy and would sometimes furl like burning so got through a lot of aloe Vera! Think it was the skin stretching?

Thanks poppy Grin hope you're feeling better too? lovemarmite glitter and frilly thanks, think as it's the second pg and dd is only 15 months the muscles are all relaxed so it's all popped put much sooner than first pg (when bump didn't really show properly til 20 weeks) It def gets bigger by end of the day and harder after I've eaten! At least I told work last week as was getting hard to hide Blush Am 17+ 2

Westcountrylovescheese · 29/02/2012 18:29

Hi all, haven't posted for a bit. Definitely looking fat not pregnant... Sad

I am using bio oil for stretch marks, it's one thing that is DH's job to remember and apply!

The only thing we've bought so far is an owl cushion, cos we both loved it!

Totally shocked though and giving you all the heads up. I contacted our local nursery to check when I should be thinking about places. They are reasonably priced and have an outstanding ofsted report. Thought I'd check so that I was all prepared. Apparently they are fully booked until January 2013 and if we are thinking of spring/summer 2013 we need to get a place reserved ASAP. They actually have pre birth registration forms that you can complete! We now have booked a visit in march! I was very shocked though and glad I asked. Anyone else thinking of nurseries need to get on the case ASAP before all the good ones get booked!

Madness!

Angel786 · 29/02/2012 19:04

That's a good point west I put dd on a waiting list when she was a six month bump (for a place from when she was one year old)! It's worth investigating early.

Have heArd good things re bio oil, was v lucky no stretch marks lad time ( just used coco butter) but did get a horrid line down the middle of my tummy (disappears post birth) but looks like it's making a return...

The3Bears · 01/03/2012 07:16

Morning everyone,

Hope dragon and rumours are feeling alot better today! My midwife appt was great yesterday all my bloods came back fine and I recieved a letter frorm hospital about ds test just saying I was low risk no 1 in 3000 etc did anyone else get one like this?

Got to hear babys heartbeat was so exciting, just so happy everythings going smoothly atm and im feeling alot less tired which is fab Grin

I had no stretchmarks last time until I was 1 day overdue Angry used bio oil and coco butter all the way through and then last couple of days I get a few on each side of my belly but oh well its not the end of the world and I got a gorgeous baby in return so not going to complain about it :) Going to get some bio oil today though as have just been using coco butter and coconut butter from bodyshop :)

Hope everyone has a great day! V busy day for me going to do the dreaded food shop when ds is at school and bits from craft shop to make a spring poster and easter bonnet with him Grin then finally having my hair trimmed as its growing like mad atm not that Im complaining just want to keep it in good condition :) Will pop back on later

PictureThis · 01/03/2012 09:12

I'm just in from a hideous night shift Sad so i'm going to have a bath and go to bed. Night all.

Dunnitt · 01/03/2012 09:25

Hello everyone. I'm due in September not August so sorry for gate crashing your thread. But I thought you guys who are ahead of me by a few weeks could share your nausea experiences.

I'm 10wk as of today and over the last few days the nausea has decreased a lot. I had a scan at 9 weeks and all fine, but I've had a MMC in the past whereby the nausea stopped but I didn't realise there was a problem until my 12 wk scan. So I'm starting to worry now. I have another scan tomorrow so I will find out for sure but am getting myself in a state in the mean time.

Lovemarmite · 01/03/2012 09:54

Hi Dunnit
Sorry to hear about your MMC last time and I can see your worry now, however, I had, and it seems that many others at the time had exactly the same with the nausea easing off at 9 weeks. There was a separate thread talking about it too when I was 9 weeks and so it seems quite normal.
I was very concerned but my mw said that this is very normal as the placenta starts to take over making the hormone and so your body starts to feel better. If you're worried though, you could talk to your mw and see if you can get booked in for an early scan/visit the early pregnancy unit.
Hope all goes well!

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 01/03/2012 10:14

hi Dunnitt if you search back to the Aug part 2 thread (I think) you'll see a lot of us experienced this, as lovemarmite has said. I was quite light on the major symptoms, but my constant nausea (I've never been sick) went at around 9/10 weeks. I felt perfectly fine, like normal.

It is worrying (I was convinced something had gone wrong), but all was ok at 12wk scan, but good luck with your scan and let us know how you get on.

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 01/03/2012 10:17

thanks angel I am feeling much better, have tried to get a few early nights and have been making an effort to drink lots more.

Hope everyone else who was feeling pants and poo (:o) is picking up too..?

Need to get some bio oil or coco butter, and some new vits too.

2 weeks to day until we-find-out-flavour day - cannot wait!!

(17+5)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 01/03/2012 10:19

Westcountrywife I am so Shock about the nursey?!? that is madness... we've not even decided where to live yet, let alone about a nursery. :(

Do you normally get one near home or near work? Do you have to put baby into a nursery or can you put them with a childminder?

I am absolutely clueless... Confused

Angel786 · 01/03/2012 10:51

Hey poppy i think most people have a nursery near home (as avoids combatting public transport with a pram at rushour!)? I can't wait to find out but have to wait another 5 weeks - although did teh nub test from scans and susepect a girl!

We went with nursery for dd as it was safe, good for her learning and playing and cost effective. If you have good childminders in your area it may be worth investigating too? We looked into nannies but they were starting at £24k p/a in London!?!?

Dunnit sorry to hear about the mc and welcome to our thread. As the ladies above mentioned, some of our sickness just dropped off quite suddenly. Mine only lasted a week this time (8 weeks last time) and all was fine. Hope the scan goes well x

0FrillyKnickers0 · 01/03/2012 11:14

Waiting at the Dentist...I hate having my teeth prodded and poked Sad I'll just Grin and bear it!

How are my lovely MNetters on this fine March day? X

OP posts:
PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 01/03/2012 11:26

Good luck frilly I had to go on Monday. I hate the dentist as well..

Happy St David's Day St Davids everyone..

Thanks Angel, definitely need to sort a place to settle and then get looking into childcare (seems SO crazy at this stage!)

I think my bump's a boy, and I've said that from day one. No idea why though. We'll find out soon though :o

Dunnitt · 01/03/2012 12:03

Thank you so much Angel, Lovemarmite, Poppy for your reassuring messages about the nausea. It is a bit more prominent today compared to yesterday but still mild in comparison to previous weeks.

This is my 4th preganancy after 3 MCs so I tend to fret about everything! And I also tend to fear the worst before each scan. Self preservation maybe. But fingers crossed for tomorrows scan.

NeedlesCuties · 01/03/2012 13:56

Hi all, I am loving the St Davids smiley!

Can I ask some advice as I am unsure whether I need to take it to my GP or midwife.

I've had cramps and pains in my belly/bump for around a month, almost constantly. I've been putting it down to the muscles stretching as other threads I've read around the 8-9 week mark seem to all have OP's who get told this is the case. But I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and still in dire pain, sometimes doubled over :(

Feels almost like really really bad wind or constipation, but I don't think I'm suffering from either of those things.

Any ideas what it could be? If I should ring the GP? I asked my DH who is a GP and he said unless there is bleeding then there isn't much hint at what it is without tests etc.

Needlescuties I am 15 weeks and still getting pains and cramps I asked my midwife this week and she said that it's still ligament pain and because it's my 3rd apparantly the pain gets worse not better the more you have? Confused

NeedlesCuties · 01/03/2012 14:36

Is that true Mia? This is my DC2 I'm pregnant with. I assumed that because I'd already done it before that the muscles wouldn't be as sore, but that's curious what your MW said.

Thanks for that. Is bloody aching though, urg! I've also heard that afterpains are worse in 2nd, 3rd, etc kids so I just can't wait till that comes in August Hmm

glittershoes · 01/03/2012 14:48

Happy St David's Day everyone! St Davids St Davids St Davids

No real advice Needles but I would call the midwife just to put your mind at rest. I am sure it is just ligaments stretching but no point stressing and worrying!

Thanks for the link to the DVD lovemarmite - looks fab. Do I need anything else to do it? A mat or anything?

Also must take up swimming again!

I had my 16 week appointment today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat which was fab. It kept wriggling about so she would find it for 5 seconds and then have to refind it again and again. In her words... you may have your hands full with this one Grin!

Totally shocked on the nursery! We have a great nursery onsite at my work but no idea if it has a waiting list - must check!

Hope everything is ok Dunnit - I'm sure it will be, I didn't suffer with nausea but what you describe sounds normal from what I have read.
