Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lovemarmite · 05/04/2012 14:54

Good luck capecath!

Hmm should I be praying for the LO to come early now?! Grin DH has a normal sized head although an odd shape but maybe it was huge when he popped out and then everything caught up afterwards?! The odd shape maybe due to it being huge! Gulp.

Vinolover · 05/04/2012 17:53

Congratulations Miaboo :) Boys certainly seem to be ruling this august!

I had a waterbirth with G&A for my second labour and OMG it was amazing! I'm already having palpatations at the thought of not being able to have it again! I am desperate for another waterbirth and fingers are firmly crossed!

panpipe · 05/04/2012 18:34

I'm hoping for a waterbirth (at home) too. Will be interested to hear the experiences of everyone trying hypnobirthing - I start going to classes in a few weeks so will report back!

I think I officially look pregnant now! I was at work last night and got comments from two complete strangers and an old friend from home who happened to be at the event. My favourite was from the girl who said "pregnancy is a beautiful thing...you are pregnant aren't you?!" I'd probably have put that the other way round...!

hamncheese · 05/04/2012 20:50

SO. MANY. BOYS!! Surely this is very special like if you flipped a heads twenty times in a row... I think I have boy too by the way but who knows!

Bring on the waterbirthed boys and g&a filled mothers Grin

Wish now I'd asked about head size... etc!

Anyone else getting stupid rib pain where you have to bend back to ease it only to find then their back aches? I'm so sore in the evenings and MW seemed surprised it was like this so early on. I think I must have an awful posture or something Blush

Congrats on the bid capecath... we really need a nice bid from someone on ours now!

capecath · 05/04/2012 21:57

I found these fetal growth charts quite interesting! You should be able to see the baby's measurements in your scan notes.

Thanks guys! Thinking we're getting a great deal :) It's all a little crazy.

lovemarmite nah, not worth baby being early, you want to get to 37 weeks at least to avoid ncu...

Weekipper · 06/04/2012 09:01

Hello, I'm a long time lurker but due 9.8 so thought I should say hi. So far all the scans have been fine but although I'm 22weeks I haven't felt much due to placenta being anterior (+ a big tum in the 1st place.) I don't know the gender but I suspect a girl. We shall see.

Please can I ask how much everyone has gained so far? At 12weeks I weighed 78.4 and now 82.5 in pjs. I ask because 2 years ago I lost 20kgs and I'm quite stressed about gaining so fast. Probably doesn't help that I've been eating when I'm tired to keep me going and exercise has taken a nose dive.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 06/04/2012 10:27

Morning Weekipper hello, congrats and welcome :o
I've put on 11.4lbs since 31st October. I have to keep a real track of my weight as I put it in so easily, and am usually really active, but have also had to cut back on exercise. It's all bump though, as I can still get my clothes on, just can't do them up.
I think at this stage you're meant to put on a 1lb a week (or so I read from one of those emails), but I've actually lost weight this week, but I think that's beacause of being in hospital and the probably because the amount of blood the vampires took in hospital..!! :)

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 06/04/2012 10:28

hamncheese no rib pain here, sorry! But I do have an uncomfortable bump sometimes, not sure what's going on there! :)

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 06/04/2012 10:39

I am loving these smileys [bugrin]

woopsidaisy · 06/04/2012 16:16

Hi Needlescutie.
Just thought I'd destroy all your hard work, as I just got in from my scan and they have moved my date to 8th August! Grin

I didn't want to know what it is, and they don't tell you at our hospital anyway...but DH was sure it was a girl! Already have two boys, so Jonny Bodencould be seeing a massive increase in sales in late summer! Grin

geekette · 06/04/2012 16:38

hamncheese no rib pain here but my ribs have seperated a fair bit. Some get larger boobs, I get a wider chest. hmm. still smarting from that news.

Welcome weekipper. My weight problems are going the other way i think. I started out at around 67 kg and at 20 weeks, I am weighing 70Kg. I love my food but even small quantities make me feel bleurgh.

susiegrapevine · 06/04/2012 19:04

Hey again. Glad to hear everyone is doing better now. Still no op for my grandad. Still a waiting game! Found out from my brother in law today that he spent all day looking at my car and it is offically dead and for the scrap heap! :(. Dunno how we will afford another one! So feeling very stressed and tearful about everything on top of tired oh and strangly horny but too tired to do anything!! Must be the hormones. Oh yeah and my babys femur (thigh bone) is right near the top of the centile line must mean I have a very long baby!

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 06/04/2012 19:11

Sorry to hear about your grandad, and your car. It's so horrible being stressed with all these extra hormones. :( I've been tearful the past few days, not like me at all, and DP is having none of it. Confused Men have it so easy sometimes! lol
I didn't think to check the measurements, although I think they were around average. Just hope I can keep LO inside long enough to find out properly!
Sending you a virtual Brew and Biscuit and - sod what other MNs say - I'm also sending a hug, as I've had very few of these over the last few days, and probably needed them the most :o

Now, where's the mini eggs? [bugrin]

NeedlesCuties · 06/04/2012 21:38

woops No worries about changing the date, I've had similar from lots of other ladies on the list before [buwink]

Glad your scan went well. I'm a bit Confused that your hospital doesn't tell the sex, I am hoping that my hospital will tell us next week when I go for the scan.... Didn't find out with DS, but this time we want to. Hope it isn't some provence-wide policy to not tell...

geekette · 06/04/2012 21:50

Where does it say MNers shouldn't give hugs???

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 06/04/2012 22:20

geekette on lots of other posts, people always say hugs are very un-MNs..!?! Confused which I thinks a bit weird, I have no idea why, though.
Anyway, I'm sending everyone a hug [buwink]

susiegrapevine · 06/04/2012 22:31

Thanks for the hugs poppy. How is a hug unMN. Everyone needs a hug! Sending hugs back.

geekette · 07/04/2012 09:01

Group hug! [bugrin]

woopsidaisy · 07/04/2012 09:08

It has always been that way in my hospital Needlescutie. Not sure about yours, but hopefully they will let you know!
If not, ask them to put the scanner over the genital area, and you can often work it out for yourself.Grin
Hope it goes well! They guy who did ours was so lovely! He spent ages pointing everything out etc.

Weekipper · 07/04/2012 09:26

Susiegrapevine I hope you're feeling a bit better.
My bump also has long legs! The head and body were just below average but the femur measurement was big. Both DH and I are the wee ones of our family and everyone else is tall.

Thanks for adding me to the list Needlescutie I'm 31 and probably booking in to Edinburgh when I move there in 6 weeks.

Weekipper · 07/04/2012 09:35

[buconfused] sorry I'm not 31 anymore, I am 32 I realise...

tashaw28 · 07/04/2012 10:44

Morning all, my scan was so lovely got to see everything and they put it on 3d for us for a bit too which was a bit freaky but lovely!!
Going to choose carpet today with my mum which will hopefully be in an Easter sale! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! X

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/04/2012 11:17

Ahh group hug back [busmile]! Have been crazy early to a cashmere sale near us and it was great! Got a lovely cardi by 0900 which will be such a treat to wear post baby in the autumn! DH now building more shelves and stuff as we're trying to get the house in order before it gets too far on .

Lovely to hear about the scans. It is so exciting and we can't wait to meet the baby.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 07/04/2012 13:56

Loving all the hugs [bugrin]

Tash glad the scan went well. MrsM how are you feeling now?
I've been bleed/spot free for 24hrs - whooooooop whooooooooop! (Sorry, if you're reading this while eating!). So pleased.

Does anyone have any tips for best sleeping positions? It's starting to get a little uncomfortable to sleep and I always seem to end up on my right side or back Confused.
